We will be consolidating a bit since we can now support subforums...
Should be pretty self explanitory in a bit...

It'll take a little while to get used to, but I like it.

Ugh, no! A lot of forums tend to do this, and I personally find it aggravating. I find that more forums/subforums just make things more tedious. Although its more specific, it's just twice as many things to check.

Subforums are good - they organize the site and easily let you know where you can find something on a particular subject.

I wanted to add that the magazine thread should now be turned into a subforum so we don't have to search page by page for a mag deal.

I agree with you.
I am definitely not going to go subforum crazy.

Agreed.

(Is there post pruning active?)

P.S. - 50 posts per page <3

This might be on the verge of going subforum crazy, but have you considered turning some the less organized stickied topics in the Cheapass Deals forum into subforums? For topics that actually get updated on the first post it's not necessary, but for the Target Clearance thread it would be helpful to have a forum style view. I'd like to know what might be on clearance, but I don't have the time to sift through the inline discussion.

Wouldn't designating someone to update the OP with new deals be easier and more clutter free?

I love it. Less clutter, looks better.

Rich, that wouldn't work. It'd be impossible to keep the OP updated, and the deals are very YMMV, so you'd have to add the location, etc to the OP. It works well the way it is now IMO. A CAG lists their location and what was on clearance. (In the Target Clearance Thread)

Sifting through a thread for deals will never be easier, better or more convenient than sifting through a forum where every item down the list is a deal instead of conversation.

Take the magazine deal thread for example where there are 100 "did you get this mag yet" posts between every mad deal posted.

Scrubking, if you ask most people who visit the magazine thread on a somewhat regular basis, they'll tell you that they liked the older way the magazine thread was maintained better. If you don't want to sift through the thread for deals why would one person want to constantly be doing that always trying to update the OP? It's not like the threads move so quickly that you can't keep up with the last few pages. I just don't think it's worth keeping the OP updated for such a YMMV kind of topic like the Target Clearance Thread.

I like the new look of the forums, bigger text and just looks cleaner. Nice job.
