View Full Version : Can we change the font color?
Sorry if there is another thread for this sort of thing, but is there a way to customize your 'display' (background and text color?) Took a quick look and couldn't find anything like that.
I'd really like to see a sharper contrast between text color and the background. I'd love to see white, or at least lighter text on the dark background, I think the old forums did have lighter text.
(My true preference would be black text on a light background, but Cheapy has had this scheme ever since I've come to the boards so I doubt he'll want to change it that drastically)

I'd like to see the color of the icon on locked threads change too. I can't tell you the number of times I've tried replying to locked threads since the new forums went up.

I like the current colors. :) I especially like the colors for the reply box that I'm typing in right now. So much easier to read than the old ones.

Can I make a request for chrome color scheme? You know, for gangstas like 2poor and me? lol
I'd still like to see the text lightened. But I guess that ain't going to happen. Unfortunately firefox doesn't let you override a specific site's color choice. (You either have to do all or nothing.)
And anyway we can make :( translate into the cry emoticon as well as

I will lighten the text slightly tonight...ill probably use the slighty lighter "Silver" color that is an option in the post window...here is a test:
CURRENT DEFAULT TEXT COLOR
A security guard who once worked for Michael Jackson told a court today that he had seen the singer having oral sex with a nine-year-old boy.
The boy in question was said to be Jordy Chandler, now 24, who in 1993 accepted a reported $25 million from Mr Jackson to settle allegations of child abuse.
The former Neverland employee also said that he had once seen Mr Jackson kissing Mr Chandler "passionately" and grabbing his crotch in front of a illuminated Peter Pan display. He said that he did not report the incident to the police because he thought no one would believe him.
Mr Chandler, now a multi-millionaire, has reportedly fled the US to avoid being called as a witness in the trial. Today's testimony came during a bad week for Mr Jackson, and during a particularly lurid part of the singer's trial.
Earlier, the son of Mr Jackson's former housemaid told the jury that the singer had used tickling games to grope his crotch as they watched cartoons. He said that he had refused to acknowledge the incidents for years because of the feelings of shame.
LIGHTER SILVER COLOR
The boy's mother, meanwhile, told the court that as a housemaid she had seen Mr Jackson in the shower with a young boy, with the boy's underwear lying in the singer's bedroom. In perhaps the most damaging evidence so far, however, Ralph Chacon, the former securituy guard, said he saw Mr Jackson standing naked with Mr Chandler after a 30-minute shower.
"I saw that Mr Jackson was caressing the boy’s hair," he said. "He was kissing him. He started to kiss his shoulders, then went down to his nipples, he started sucking his nipples. He started going down to his penis, putting his mouth on his penis. At that time I left."
Tom Sneddon, prosecuting, asked the witness: "He put the little boy’s penis in his mouth? Did you actually see that?" Mr Chacon insisted: "Yes sir."
Mr Chacon, who worked for Mr Jackson between 1991 and 1994, says he believed that Mr Chandler was just 9 or 10 at the time of the incident.
He told the court that he had been on the graveyard shift from 10pm to 6am when he first saw Mr Jackson heading towards an outside Jacuzzi with the boy. He said he went over to an area just 10ft away from Mr Jackson. "He was in the Jacuzzi," he said. "He was with someone. He was with Jordy. I couldn’t see them from where I as, but I co

WASHINGTON Apr 7, 2005 — The blockbuster painkiller Bextra was yanked off the market Thursday, and the government ordered that 19 other popular prescription competitors from Celebrex to Mobic to high-dose naproxen carry tough new warnings that they, too, may increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
The warnings encompass an entire class of anti-inflammatory medicines called NSAIDs that are the backbone of U.S. pain treatment, not just newer versions of the painkillers initially suspected when the heart concerns made headlines last fall.
The warnings in black boxes, the strongest the Food and Drug Administration can order are likely to cause confusion because they won't tell patients and doctors which of these prescription drugs is a safer choice.

In addition, the FDA will make over-the-counter NSAIDs, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, naproxen and ketoprofen bear stronger reminders to take only low doses for a few days at a time to avoid the same risks of high-dose, long-term use.
Worried patients immediately began calling doctors and pain groups to ask what drug they should take. The FDA advised patients to ask which painkiller is best suited to their personal health risks, and then take the lowest dose possible.
There simply isn't enough research yet to rank which drug will pose fewer heart problems, said FDA drug chief Dr. Steven Galson. "A lot of the data conflicts," he said.
The FDA is asking painkiller manufacturers to sift through their research to help figure that out.
"Let me emphasize now, this announcement is unlikely to be the last word you'll hear on these drugs," Galson said.
Wow is it bright!

And many CAG's will agree that she's the best sig you've had, so you'll be inclined to stick with the orange.

The orange links are fine, green would look stupid. I only liked the green in that it told me that I wasn't logged in, so I guess it had some purpose.

No like where it says our names like zewone and Crash. Also where it says private messages and home/user cp/menu/members/shop/etc... All of that is orange and I would rather see it green. But if that is cheapass green then that is the color I'm talking about. Have you seen defenders name on the new boards? Like that. I guess he did that because he thinks hes special but I want it like that for the whole board.
Sweet, thanks Cheapy. I'm kind of surprised some are commenting they'd rather have the text harder to read, but whatever.
It's too bad this board software doesn't let you choose your text and bground color in your profile (so everyone could set their own if they wanted) That would be ideal.
