I suspect the Hawaii thing was some attempt at being humorous about what happens after a tragedy and plans get cancelled...like the movie Phonebooth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0183649/) being delayed because of the D.C. snipers.

they're known for working on episodes up until the last minute, so i'd guess they didn't get it done in time, or changed some of it.

obviously their excuse for not showing the lemmiwinks episode (if there ever really was one) was a joke, kind of like the whole april 1st/who's cartman's father? thing.

although this episode had a few moments, it wasn't that great.
