Inspired by the other topic, I decided to take a trip down to McD's to give them another chance. I never eat there, because it seems like when I do, they always seem to throw it back in my face. This time around I picked up 2 Dbl Cheeseburgers, a large Fry, and a large Coke. The cheese wasnt even melted on the burgers, and the fry's looked like old, dirty shoelaces (Not warm/hot, of course).
Oh, and I had to wait about 5 minutes for my food when Iwas about the only one there, but that more or less is a staple at McDonalds.
Viva la Burger King.

I've had much worse fast food than McD's, but Burger King is definitely better. I'd much rather eat at Sonic or Steak and Shake though.

I worked for Burger King for 3.5 years. (18-21 in case you were wondering) I was the Burger King. But if it means anything, if you work at a fast food place for that long and still like the food, something must be right.

I will give you some adivce from working at McDonalds
Dont buy any meat their except the grilled chicken or when they have those specials like those mighty wings and stuff, the more expensive it is, the more of it is real. ;)
The hamburgers are NASTY!
and when they make the grilled cheese they put it through the same thing that toasts the buns and when they make cheese burgers they just put the cheese on, they dont melt it or anything and if they did it would just be for a second.

I worked at BK for 3 years as well. I dont allow my kids to eat McDs and I love BK food. I think when you work at BK you learn all the tricks of what to order and how to order it..
First tip. Always order special.. NO SALT fries means you get NEW fries every time... and ordering a burger NO KETCHUP means you get a fresh burger...at BK you can simply request a fresh burger out the grill and they will do it. If you ever worked at BK and tasted a burger straight off the broiler then you know HEAVEN. BK meat is very good. Also I remember eating a whopper with just the cheese. A plain whopper is quite tasty...oh god...I gotta go eat BK now for lunch.
P.S. I also spent over a year working at Taco Bell and I dont ever it there any more. TB is seriously poor quality. They used to make all the meat fresh daily and the beans too but now it all comes packed and process and it tastes rather odd. I wont eat it anymore.

McDonald's is ok. However, ever since they started using that Olean/olestra oil for cooking their fries, I can't eat there. If I do, I'll be in the bathroom an hour later. The breakfast food is pretty good, though. Only problem there is how healthy it is (or isn't). The McGriddles are good, but something like 550 calories. If I eat one of those, I try to have a small lunch and not eat another McGriddle for a couple of months.
BK is great. They have good chicken tenders, the burgers are good, and I happen to like the onion rings. Their fries are mediocre. Wish they'd bring back the Black Stack burger. That ruled.

Oh man the McGriddles at McDonalds are soooo good. I just wish I could wake up before noon so I could have one.
McDonalds - Good
Burger King - Good
Taco Bell - Good
KFC - Nasty
Steak and Shake - Good
In and Out - Good
Wendy's - Good

Lol this is a good topic!
BK > Wendies > McD
From where I stand, Burger King has the best quality, but it's also the most expensive. McDonalds is cheap but it sucks, and Wendies is just as cheap but it's much better. I like Wendies the best in terms of best food for lowest money, but if i'm feeling ritsy, i'll go BK.
Mr Unoriginal
04-15-2004, 02:30 PM
I think Wendy's is the best. Their fries blow everyone else out of the water and their spicy chicken sandwhiches are pretty damn good too. They also have the best dollar menu i think.

In my area, Wendy's is a little more expensive than BK, though not much. Wendy's burgers are damn good. A classic single with cheese, or a double with cheese if you're hungry.
My favorite place of all time: Arby's. Beef and Cheddar - best sandwich ever made.

it's all about the chicken nuggets at wendy's....
I think mickey d's have the best fries, but wendy's have good burgers. Although the filet o fish (or fish sandwiches in general) is the best at mcdonald's

Wendy's chicken tenders with honey mustard is
absolute heaven, especially if they're made hot.
The only thing i really like about mickey d's is a big mac. I rarely ever, ever go there though, although to me, those things are irresistible.
I love wendy's, their fries are the best, and have you ever had a big bacon classic?! I'm telling you, the best bacon burger i've ever tasted straight out of a fast-food restaurant. they also have MUCH better quality salads then the other places (do not try mcdonalds salads, warning, they are poisoned.. my mother got one and her lettuce was brown and it was soggy and disgusting)
BK is great too. I like their fries and whopper and everything. So for me it goes something like
Wendys > BK > Mcdonalds BUT
Big Mac > Big Bacon Classic (close) > Whopper
IMO O/C.

but ever since then I got sick and tired of the "flame broil" taste

Well I guess you all are missing out.
Try a Hardee's Monster burger, with tomato and ketchup!!!
Or, their new 2/3 lb, Angus burger!!!
Freaking awesome!!
Anyways, Mc Donalds beef, is one grade above dogfoods'. Thats old news though. The Olestra statement, is incorrect. They ceased its use.
I still love Mc Donalds, but only go there, if I'm shit out of money.
I don't mind everyone being black. All of them looking like leppers. All of them staring at me, like I'm the one who made them have to work there.
I still go.
Even though I'm afraid to sit in the drive thru too long, in fear I may get jacked, for a $1 double cheeseburger, its worth it. I love that stare, that I get from the guy, or girl at the window... you know, the one like; like they want to cut off your fucking head, and fill up your neck with that concentrated milkshake in a bag.
Back home, at my old house, the Mc Donalds had 3 cool rules. One, was that if your meal wasn't in your hands, paid for and all, within 90 seconds, it was free. The second, was, if they didn't hand you a receipt, the meal was on then. Lastly, if it was made wrong, the next meal was on them.
Thing is, I've never been to a nice Mc Donalds. Its always the same.
Rap music, spewing from the back. People that hate me, just because of my skin color. Huge attitudes. Filthy lobbies/kitchens. Vulgar language coming from employees' mouths. Alien artifacts, in my food.
Man, once I found a shoeprint on the inside of my bun, after I ordered no mustard. My friend found an insect, were not sure what it was, at the bottom of his vanilla shake. We think it was a cockroach, but it was all chopped up.
2 of my friends, were robbed at the same Mc Donalds, once during the night, another, the day.
I love Wendy's and BK too, but around my way, they are ghetto. The thing is, for some reason, the employees aren't upset with me. They don't care that I'm white. They are kind, and polite.
Shit,..I even tipped this guy at the BK drive thru, for being so nice, and pleasant.
Its just Mc Donalds, that is total shit.

I myself enjoy Mickey D's, but only for certain things; namely, the happy meals (gotta love them), the Salads, and the McGriddles. Its sad though that a happy meal can full me up in one sitting; damn small stomach.
I haven't been to Burger King in a while; haven't seen anything new there that was interesting since the Homer Burger. That I liked.
For fries and chicken sandwiches, its Checkers all the way. Their fries are the best. I wish I knew what seasonings they use on them.
KFC is my favorite place to go. My mom would get stuff from there every couple of weeks or once a month at least, and it would be the only time that we'd actually sit around the table and eat, and not go out separate ways to eat in our rooms. I always gave my biscuits to mom and my brother would steal all the coleslaw. I'd always get extra crispy. I would steal the gravy and add it all to my mashed potatoes and make gravy soup. Ahh, memories.

i haven't seen a hardees in forever. i used to know someone who would drive down to ohio just to grab some of their food.
that being said, i like mcdonald's chicken sandwiches. plus, they're only a dollar. their burgers are pretty gross, though.
i've noticed that every burger i've had from wendy's lately has been soggy, which is also pretty gross.
as mentioned in the other thread, fuddruckers is totally the place for a burger.

as mentioned in the other thread, fuddruckers is totally the place for a burger.
This is truth. In fact, the ONLY place that I will order a burger from is Fuddruckers. I get chicken only from these fast food places. I also order most junk plain (burgers do get cheese on them, though).
McDonald's- Chicken is decent, but only if you get the Chicken McGrill. Their fries are delicious, but I don't have them except on rare ocassions for obvious reasons.
Wendy's- Excellent chicken strips, but their fries suck. Their grilled chicken is decent and obviously of good quality, but it seems a little dry.
Burger King- EXCELLENT chicken all around. The chicken baguette chicken meat is excellent, though I do put it on wheat bread because I don't really like the baguette bread it's on too much. The "Chicken Sandwich" is an excellent piece of fried chicken. I don't care for the fries too much, though.
The extra money for BK and Wendy's chicken shows. Like I said earlier, I only get burgers from Fuddruckers; I'm too scared to get them from anywhere else unless it's a full-service restaurant, and this was decided upon years before the mad cow scare.

I only think you want to eat at McDonalds if you're a vegitarian. The small burgers are mostly soy. Supposedly it'll help you wean yourself back on meats because you're getting so little actual meat in the patty. That's i9f you haven't had meat in several years. The last thing you want to do is have a big fresh T-bone
MMMMmmmm... T-Booone... Gagaggagg
They say that new movie "Super Size Me" is pretty shocking and funny. Over the course of a month the guy ate nothing but McDonalds, under the supervision of a doctor. By the end, he gained like, 25 pounds, started having heart palpitations, his blood pressure was through the roof, and there was some worry of kidney/liver damage. The doctors told him to stop, but he only did this for the movie.
They say one of the most disturbing scenes is that, half way through the month, he's in his car one day eating a Big Mac. He suddenly vomits up his meal, which he's eten about half way through. But it's the only nourishment he can get, since he's making this movie. So, after some reservation, he forces himself to finish the other half.
I'm hoping to see this film when it comes out to video. It looks really interesting. Won some awards too.

I threw up on McDonald's when they first had the $0.39 hamburger, $0.49 cheeseburger Wed. thing and have refused to eat there since (I think its like a 6 year streak now) If I want cheap fast food I usually go to Jack-in-the-Box. I don't like McDonalds. Their fries are nasty, their burgers are the smallest, their breakfast sandwiches suck and they don't really have that many chicken sandwiches. Burger King is alright, I like the Whopper and the Chicken Whopper, but their breakfast selection is weak too.
I personally preffer Jack In The Box and Wendys. Jack In The Box has the best breakfast "sandwich", The Ulitmate Breakfast Sandwich, and it's bigger and cheaper (by about 40 cents) than McDonalds "McMuffin". JITB also has some pretty good hamburgers, with the Grilled Sourdough hamburger being my favorite.
Wendy's is the best value, with a pretty good 99 cent value meal. You could get a couple of 1/4 double stack hamburgers for $2, and it's a pretty damn good meal. Their chicken sandwiches are pretty much the best, and they come out with a new one every couple of months. I also really like their chilli.

Are Hardees and Carls Jr the same place? Hardees seem to be on the east, and Carls Jr on the west, but they have a very similar menu. Someone help me out wiht this.
Yup. They're owned by the same company. You can pretty much see that from how both companies use the same "happy-face star" as their logo. In the west it's Carls Jr., in the east it's Hardees.

I'm wondering that one myself.
On the way home on Saturday I was thirsty so I decided to stop by McDonalds for a drink. I trust their food about as far as I can throw BigNick, but I figure that they couldnt mess up a large coke, right?
"Welcome to McDonalds, how can I help you?"
"Yeah, can I get a large Coke? Thats all."
"..."
"..."
"So you want a root beer float?"
I sat there for a second, dumbfounded. I dont have any sort of speech impediments, and I make extra effort to speak as clearly as humanly possible when ordering. I just pulled away not wanting to deal with these morons. When I drove by the window, I got to see the worker with their mouth hanging open with a blank stare in my direction. After that I went to the nearest gas station and got something to drink there.

I don't eat McDonalds unless someone else is buying.
Burger King is pretty good. Arbys is ok, although I seldom eat there because it's a little expensive to me. Wendy's is alright. Just a small tip though. Do not order baked potatoes at Wendy's at night. I had a friend who worked there and he said they left them out all day.
My personal favorites are Jack In The Box, Carl's Jr, Taco Bell, and Del Taco.
I ate at a Del Taco for the first time in Anaheim last summer. Good stuff. I found out there is only one Del Taco in the entire Portland area, and it's across the river in Vancouver, WA! But I go there once a month, it's worth it. If any of you have one in your area, check it out.
Finally, check this out:

That page has some interesting things about a lot of different fast food chains.
