Yet once again the Pope is being a hypocritical dumbass. What a surprise. Can't make new "life" to use to save lives, but he says it's ok to be put on a feeding tube and life support. The Church 50 years ago said that having organ transplants was a sin, that humans were playing god and that shouldn't happen. But when it deal with the Pope all this is just fine.
What dumbasses, but that's the Church for you. Guess it's nothing new.

isn't that just a sign that maybe this guy shouldn't be the pope anymore... i mean he cant even talk. I'm not a religious person so it doesnt affect me either way just seems dumb to me.

Blasphemer!
Does he weigh as much as a duck? :-k Can we burn him?
I think the Pope is more of a figurehead position...
They're always like 70+ years old, and spent 50 years as a Cardinal before they get to be Pope.

Don't worry, NECN and CNN are reporting that the Pope was given last rights, so he will most likely die soon. I don't feel bad through because he's 83 or something crazy like that.
But back to my point, why do people believe in all this religious bullshit when the church doesn't even follow what they say.
I'm sure "God's word" hasn't changed in 50 years, to he/she/it 50 years is nothing.

First off we're speaking only about catholics here, not all relgions or religous people aslo if you aren't religous what concern is it to you? And, if you'd actually read the article you posted, you'd know that the Pope's word alone deoesn't automatically make what he says the new law of the Catholic Church.
And one last question what do you mean "creating new life so save lives"?...if you are refering to cloning the church (along with many others) isn't opposed to it because it has a possibilty to save lives so much as the many other wrong things it will probably be used for as well.

I respect this pope immensely. Anyone who can forgive their assassin deserves the respect and love of the catholic church.
The things he was willing to do to help out his native Poland are remarkable. You may not agree with his recent policies or even the church's policies, but you have to respect the man.

You know JPII wasn't 70+ when he became pope, he was only 58 or so.

Yes, but he was the youngest pope in a very long time.
And was thrust into the position when JPI died after like a month.

The church can change, and 50 years ago was a totally different time with a different pope, with different ideas and opinions. This is consistent when you consider what the vaticans opinion on schiavo was. There is also a distinction between church and pope, and the pope can hold an opinion that isn't, necessarily, reflected throughout the church. It seems that the article said actual life support, with all the machines that go with it, would be against the popes wishes (consistent with earlier comments about letting the will of god take over), but a feeding tube is acceptable and should not be removed from a patient, since that isn't extraordinary means. Seriously, there's a lot of ways the church is hypocritical, you found one of the few where they aren't.

That's the problem I have, if you were playing God 50 years ago, it's the same thing today and it's not "playing god".
And it is one of the many they are. They choose things and then when they relize "Shit we need money, I guess we can't make fun of women anymore" and change just to get money. The whole thing is a joke and yet dumbasses still follow every single word.

Nope.
I don't have to respect a man who supports policies that create and spread suffering around the world. It will be interesting to see what happens if he goes into a Schaivo-like coma.
I want to say that I do have sympathy for this pope, who is probably in alot of pain right now.

Fox News and NECN (New England Cable News) report he's dead, MSNBC is reporting that he will die shortly, and CNN is being CNN.
Wait now Fox news is saying the Vatican is saying the Pope's heart and brain are still working, but earlier today there were rumours that his heart failed.
I would believe anyone but the Vatican.

CNN is making those reports known, but doesn't want to commit to anything since no definately accurate source has reported it. CBC and BBC are doing the same. Also, the italian media is now saying he is not dead.
The main problem, besides conflicting reports, is we have reporters, not doctors or people with any medical training, making reports. The language used often seems to lead to confusion, I saw a few reports earlier today saying he had a heart attack.
Though here's my opinion on the pope, as posted in another topic
He was more conservative than I would have liked (and, more importantly, than many catholics thought he would be), but I'll miss him, not only due to familiarity (my family is polish so he's been huge, more so than in most families, at least with comparative religiousness). I have a huge list of problems with him, and more and more I've grown angrier with him due to his increasing denouncement of homosexuals in particular, but I've come to take that in context (though it's getting close to the point where it's just too much, if he survives my feeling may harden due to it). He's done a lot to attempt to heal the previous harm the church has done to other people and religions, and apologized for many of the mistakes and horrors in its history, so I respect him for that. Though, if it wasn't for that part of his papacy, and that is a major, if not the major, part, then I wouldn't be typing this.

Well it's not that, they always lie about the health of the Pope, hell did they ever come out and say he has parkensons disease? They make it sound like he is "ok" when on his death bed.
He probably is dead and they aren't saying anything until everything is in order.
Even if he isn't it sounds like he will be any minute now.
