Take male characters and give them the ol' "Midnight Bliss" treatment....I found these today and figured I'd share....I have a couple more if someone wants them...

Damn, I wish I could have found those before April 1st. I could have played some good pranks with those.

It's sorta like the amalgam universe (Marvel vs. DC). Anyone remember Sparrow?

Somewhat disturbing.

Went to the site, I think the worst one is Nightmare, followed by Haomaru.

It's like when DC saw Superman and Batman and said "a woman in that costume would be a good idea"...it gave the world Batgirl and Supergirl!

There are copyright issues involved as well. A company will make sure they have control over the creation of such characters if only to keep other from producing them and misleading consumer into thinking there is a connection. Once this became clearly defined in a legal battle MArvel began a campaign of producing female alternates to their most valuable trademarks. Thus She-Hulk and the half-dozen or so Spider-women. No sooner was one Spider-woman killed off than another sprang out of the woodwork.

Maintaining copyright on character names requires they appear in a new publication on a regular basis. Thus there will never be a year when a Spider-woman of some sort doesn't appear in a Marvel comic. If you've ever read a story where a deceased character appeared as a robot, hologram, flashback, etc. in a manner that seemed painfully contrived, it was usually because the guy who keep track of this stuff indicated it was time to give that character their token appearance or create someone new using the same name lest the publisher lose ownership.

The female Dante would be more recognizable if they got the hair right.

I think that's the most awkward one I've pinched off ever. Including the one when my mom walked in on me.

I didn't even consider that. That's very interesting indeed.

You are right about the female Dante. I wonder why the artist did it like that?

Seems much like the creepy TV ad running currently where a guy uses a remote control to first turn his car into a more impressive model, then converts his slovenly male friend into a sexy babe.

What's the site?

http://www.geocities.jp/nekkeau/index.htm (It appears to be safe for work. The Douce pic is a silhouette of a nude but nothing is actually shown so take that under advisement).

Sblymnlcrymnl, I agree the Haohmaru one wasn't that good. It was just not a good character for that type of art . The Nightmare one was cool looking I thought. Could have been an extra in God of War :) .

There is a traditional Samus Aran that is absolutely BADASS on that site. Best pic there IMO. There is the slightness hint of an evil look and I guess that is why I like it so much.

The Aerith (Aeris) one is a close second, beautiful pic IMO.

The female Billy Kane is really well done.

The tradional Angel, Aya Brea, Chun Li and Jill Valentine were very good also.

The regular Sol Badguy looks awesome.

ew... (to above post)

THis is a pretty damn clever thing. I don't really think it turns me on or anything, but it's really a nice twist. If Demitri were a homosexual, it would be interesting to see girls like Mai and Morrigan in the roles of men... hmm... not that I am a $$$, and no offense to $$$s. and no offense to those offended by my last sentance.

...the Billy Kane pic is pretty nice as well as the Iori and the SolBadguy.

somewhat reminds me of the same style as the guy who made the Ghost in the shell manga(forgot his name) with a mix of Falcoon.
