EA has hired Sean Connery to voice James Bond in an upcoming game. Do you think this is a waste of money or a good move on EA's part? Personally, I wouldn't buy a Bond game just because he is in it - the game has to be good too...

As you said, voiceovers wouldn't sell a Bond game to me.. hope it's good.

well, he was the best bond, and i think hed still be a good one, the voiceovers help, but if the game is garbage then who cares

Still, better to have good voiceovers than not. And frankly, I haven't really ever grooved on Remington Steel as Bond. IF I were going to buy a Bond game, I think I would enjoy this. But of course it is not a selling point. This would be polish, in my opinion.
I think EA would be better off getting someone like Free Radical Design to work on the next Bond game.

But, that said, you really can't polish a turd...so if the game blows then the good voice work will be for naught.

I think that having a quality voice-over adds to the potential of the game. It does not, however, make it a great game. It at least has my ears perked.

Aw, so misleading (title)! I was hoping he'd be in an upcoming Bond movie...I have no interest in a Bond game, an EA one no less...

Clive Owen is rumored to be the next Bond.

Clive Owen doesn't want to be the next Bond.

No one's even asked him to be the next Bond either.
I'm assuming they're going for a tux wearing retro Connery/Bond for the next game.

I thought the new Goldeneye would be decent because of the premise, but we know how that did. Adding a talented voice will not help.

It couldn't hurt. To me there are only two Bonds: Sean and Pierce.

If you got GI, it's the Sean Connery version of James Bond that they're making the game for. So having Sean voiceover is the most obvious choice, and the game doesn't look half bad.

Apparently they're doing From Russia With Love. Since this is my favorite Bond movie my interest in this game has been piqued.

(hangs head in shame as he realizes that, yes, he would in fact buy a Bond game solely for Sean Connery)
