Damn, no more Pokemon Center. I was hoping the renovations going on were just to update the place to make it more of a tourist attraction but it sounds like they're trying to mimic the Sony store 4 or 5 blocks away.

The Pokemon Center will still be there except it will probably be much smaller and will now be a part of the Nintendo Store
This is going to be 2 stories, IIRC.

Wait, where is the Sony store? Is it dedicated to Sony gaming or Sony in general?
I'll be at the launch of the Nintendo store. Will anyone else be there?

Sony in general. There is one near me and it is similar to the Apple store.

This is before I read any post that said it was opened today, i just ventured there to verify it was open tomorrow the 14th
I went into the store today, it's not really that EXCITING as I thought it would be. yes it is open the day before the grand opening. there isn't that many 'exclusive' products there yet, but an employee said they will have more to display tomorrow.
of course for those who don't believe me, when you go in, there will be a row of GBASPs on your right near a kiosk lined up, and then in the center there are about 15 DSs in a circular pattern for you to play with. in the back of the first floor, is the 'pokemon store' with all the old pokemon merchandise. the other wall in the back has 4 DSs ready to link up for 4 player play with Mario 64 DS.
upstairs on the 2nd level are at least 8 kiosks with GC's all hooked up to them with 4 controllers each for you to test out the latest and greatest games. then there are 3 GCs set up with those 'egg' type seats for you to play with them. the upstairs is the accessory area along with the GC sales area, while downstairs is the portable sales area.
and the 2nd floor also has a mini museum with old nintendo systems and a few of the exclusive GBAs on display. they even have a Gulf War damaged GB on display that still works.
if you want 'exclusive' products, some pokemon t-shirts, nintendo world store pens and caps, that was it.
personally i think the employees there need to be informed more about the products they are selling because i overheard one totally messing up all the DS information to a potential customer, and i really wanted to interviene.
There you go, the Nintendo World Store summary in a nutshell without the 'block party'
