Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ), and Washington state (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, Houston, Sacramento, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.
If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Thanks as always fido.

You know, the strange part is the cover art they show is the cover art for DDS1, but it clearly says DDS2 in the art as well as in the text.

Warning Fry's in Anaheim refused to honor the Price of $39.99 for DDS 1 because the SKU is different in the ad!
I pointed out that the sequel would not be available until mid-late summer.
No matter, $54.99 is the going price.
They hope to have a revised price point later today, probably tomorrow.
Clearly its an error and it should have been DDS 1, but the store manager refused to take authority claiming that the top brass is busy with the Grand Opening in Indianapolis and only Headquarters has the authority to make corrections!
Delegation is non-existent, only the SKU will survive!

Thats cause when DDS2 does release this case will hold both games.

It should be revised by now. I picked up mine at 2pm up in the Bay Area and it rang up for $39.99. The last copy I found was tucked away on one of those employee computer counters. Maybe they were trying to hide it for themselves. ;)
Also picked up Mercury PSP and Doom3 CE Xbox. Total savings on the three games... $35!

Wow, awesome price on Jade Empire. I've been wanting this one since I've heard Bioware was doing it. I didn't think that Fry's would have it so cheap when it came out for some reason. I don't know why but I kept think that they would over look it or something. Now to decide...pick it up now with not so much money or wait til a price drop later? Hmmmm........

Well, I have the Fry's ad for Vegas in front of me right now. Not really sure if I should make another thread for it or just pot in here or post it at all since really most of the games that fido posted are the same here. The only thing that I will add though is the deals for Memory Sticks since I know a lot of people have been looking for deals on them. The ones listed in the Vegas ad, which I would like to assume apply almost everywhere else are:
Sony 128 MB Memory Stick - 39.99
Sony 256 MB Memory Stick Pro Duo - 49.99
Sony 1GB Memory Stick Pro 109.99
Sony 512 Memory Stick Pro Duo - 79.99
Hopefully this will help someone.

I don't think that they are even releasing a non-LE version yet. Regular edition doesn't even show up on Ebgames for example. Probably once the initial few shipments deplete it won't be "limited" anymore. I wouldn't worry about not getting the LE at this point. Anyways, I guess we will find out next week.

Well Bioware did said that it will be Xbox only, but no one expect Fable to get a PC release.

I looked a bit closer at the ad and it appears that the pricing is for BOTH the LE and non-LE editions. There is only one price listed: $36.99, but 2 SKUs. I verified them against the Outpost.com SKUs and one SKU is the LE and one SKU is the non-LE.

Anyone know how the Indy sales are being handled? Will they feature some of the same sales as the other Fry locations or is the Grand Opening Sale carrying over for a few more days? Had a hard time walking through the store to see what exactly was on sale. It was just huge.

From my experience, I've found that most of the deals that you see fido and others post will be at most stores or small variances of them. When they have Grand Openings though, they tend to have their own special deals.

I had the same question too... because at outpost.com, they are charging $44.99 for the LE edition or Jade Empire and only $36.99 for the RE... I hope the entire first run of Jade Empire is LE.
I want the LE because that's the only way to get the exclusive character class and character... and Bioware said they have no intention of allowing people to download that through XBox Live.

I just went to Fry's to pick up Digital Devil Saga before the deal ends and couldn't find it on the shelf (I saw 2 there yesterday). I asked the clerk if they had any left and he ran off to check. After a few minutes he came back and said that they just sold the last one this morning. Disappointed, I decided to scan through the rest of the PS2 games before I left and lo and behold I found a copy of Firefighters FD 18 on the shelf for 29.99. I remembered hearing something about that game being somewhat rare, so I grabbed it. And what do I find sitting on the shelf right behind it? The last copy of Digital Devil Saga. So I ended up with those 2 games for about $75 total. Good haul today, thanks OP!

Yaeh...seems like the game is selling out and fast. I know that my Fry's last Saturday when I came I didn't even see any DDS on the shelf so I asked somebody if they had any in the back to which he checked and said yes they do and he went and grabbed them. He said there were only 6 left of an initial 40 shipment. Glad I picked one up. So that really really sucks PKRipp3r. Maybe you should have asked for a rain check or something like that since they were sold out.
And to others, my Fry's has had Disgaea for what seems like forever. Only thing is that they are too expensive for a CAG like me. I'm hoping they'll go down to 39.99 at least.

I don't get it... won't the entire intial run of Jade Empire be all LE?
So why pay $4 more for the LE at outpost.com? Why not just buy the regular edition for $34.88?
BTW, I was chicken and bought the LE for $38 since I didn't want to gamble.

The LE of Jade Empire comes with a bonus character and class that Bioware has said will not be able to be DL'd later off of Xbox Live.

yeah i thought about it while i was pacing up and down the PS2 aisle...
then i bought a copy of DOOM 3 and I felt better. :)
but next time i'm there i'll see if they have any in the back room.
good idea!
Which version of Doom 3? I just rented the regular from Hollywood Video and man is Doom3 a damn good game. It's one of the few games that managed to make me jump after demon popped out of a corner. The lighting effects in the game are just incredible. This is the FPS that I have been waiting for. Not that Halo2 FPS junk. I should pick it up, but I don't really have the money. Does anyone know by any chance how large is the initial run of the LEs supposed to be? I don't want to buy it now thinking I won't have a chance later and it turns out to be another Halo2 debacle with a billion kajillion LEs that my aunt should've waited for a price drop and bought me another game.

Yeah, I know the LE of Jade Empire will have the extra conent (chatacter, class, making of)... my question is why is outpost charging a $4 premium for the LE edition?
I thought the first shipment of the game will all be LE... and most stores don't seem to be giving the option of letting you preorder the regular edition or LE of Jade Empire (like they did with Doom 3).

Oh, I didn't understand what you meant. To that question, I'm not really sure why.

i just got the regular ver. i was also wondering how many LE copies were out there... the two older versions of DOOM would be cool... but with the sale price on the regular it just made more sense.
so far i'm lovin the game. i turn out all the lights at night and crank up the volume.
my neighbors are worried about me. :)

Yaeh it's an awesome game. After one day of playing it I'm at Alpha Labs 1 Sector West. Really creepy at times. The only thing I've been disliking about it are the loading times. They take forever and seem to really slow down the game. The loading times for the PDA and pause menu are also terrible.

agreed
it's worth the wait, when you get there.
but the frequency of the load times can be a bit much.

I just want to make sure. I had what I thought was a dream last night concerning this thread and Fry's sale on Jade Empire LE. This will also be good in the Indy store right? In the (apparent) dream, someone posted that Indy Fry's would not hold any sales similar to other stores so no Jade Empire LE.

Your guess is as good as ours. However, with new release titles, most of the Fry's all price the same way. Sometimes one is cheaper or more expensive by a couple of bucks. Indianapolis is particularly tricky since you are just coming off a Grand Opening, so your store never published the Sunday ad with Jade Empire in it.
The only thing I can say is that if you are in Indy, pick up the Star tomorrow and check the ad. That's the only way you'll know.

Yeah, crazy I know. It was so vivid, too. And IIRC, the post was made by another CAG from Indy in my dream. And then someone posted below him, "No Jade Empire LE for you!!!!"

I was just looking at the original post of the Fry's ads again, and I can't believe that I missed out on Monty Python and the Holy Grail: SE for 9.99. D'oh! I've been really wanting that one. Aaaarrrrrggghghhgh.

This has got to be probably the longest Fry's ad in the Fry's ads history on CAG.
