Just got the Halo 2 headset and have a quick question for those that have it :

Is the earpiece supposed to go IN your ear or rest on the edge of your ear but not go in? Because the instructions do say not to put it inside the ear canal, but if I don't I can't hear anyone talking - the volume is way too low. I checked to make sure the volume on the little adapter thingie is turned all the way up, so that's not the problem.

Also - do you guys like the headset? I think it feels comfortable, just weird to have it inside the ear instead of outside.

?

I have mine in my ear, but not IN my ear canal....I have the earpiece in as if I were were earbuds. I think its pretty comfortable too, you just have to get used to it. But I do get ear-aches once in awhile for playing with it on too long.

I tried the Halo 2 headset and didn't like how it fit on my big Dumbo ears, nor how it was sitting by/in my ear for sound. Couldn't hear much with it, and decided I didn't like it.

Used the Microsoft one for a while, until I picked up the Plantronics X20. Great sound, glasses-friendly, small and light. Only real issue is that the earbud, which goes in your ear, should be a little bit smaller. Gets a little uncomfortable after a few hours, though nothing horrible.

Try using the different sized ear cushions...but yeah, it just takes a week or so to get used to it. I try to get the earpiece on top of my ear canal, but not really inside it. You'll also probably find with some games, the voice chat is just louder than others.

I actually plug it into my home phone when I have to make long phone calls and/or use the PC while talking. Works great with my cellphone as well.

Mine fits in well, it just smells like earwax now.
