They were supposed to make Neowave and then skip 2004 or something like that. I think it's in hiatus for now. I have a feeling they are redrawing the sprites for the series, so if you want that type of gameplay from SNK you will have to get Neo Geo Coliseum.

they also made re-bout to celebrate 10 years of KOF.

Hopefully KOF does go on hiatus. I really want to see SNKP make some games in their other series (another FF would be nice, and maybe they could make something new or revive AOF or something along those lines).

I dont know exactly where the series is headed, but i remember reading some news saying that there was at least another MI planned.

I got the first MI at Black Friday last year. And since then I bought tekken 5 and Doa ultimate.

And although my least fav of the 3, i liked it enough to be willing to buy a sequel if it is made.

please ask me when im not obsessed with playing "Street Fighter II ' Special Champion Edition" because i really dont care at the moment XoD

SFII':SCE has offically replaced SFII:T as my favorite SFII game, however it might be due to the amazingness of the 6-button genny controller.

i always thought snk was totally retarded the way they release games

they have a ton of great fighting series' what they have to do is ration out releases...say:

2005 - Samuari Shodown
2006 - Fatal Fury
2007 - Last Blade
2008 - Art of Fighting
2009 - Samuari Shodown
...and so on and so on.

keep running the KOF annuals and incorporate the other game series released that year into the story to keep it fresh.

i havent played MI yet but as soon as i see it on the cheap i will, from what ive heard, i dont think ill be dissapointed.

taken from KOF cyberfanatics:
"Development on the next installment of King Of Fighters is also started, tentatively named The King Of Fighters : Episode 09. Ash, Duo Lon and Shen Woo are already confirmed to be in the next KOF game. Tags feature, introduced in KOF2003, will also be present in the game."

so there yuo have it tagging confirmed, ash duo lon and shen woo confirmed. look slike they're not going to nuber them by years anymore, but by episodes. i guess we'll wait and see what else is announced by SNKP in the upcoming year.

It's done. I think the main guy on the dev team is gone and made some announcement that no more SFs would be made. It sounds sketchy but I read it somewhere official a while ago.

personally, I think the street fighter series needs to retire itself (or just become SFAlpha series...) and the KOF seires is awsome, but needs to take a back seat. Capcom needs to start making new sprites and installments for the series like Darkstalkers and (insert fighter here). KOF needs to go back some of their older series and revive them, put tons of new stuff. Some good makovers would be Last Blade, Samurai Showdown, Metal Slug, Fata Fury... or jsut something new!

capcom and snk are in a rut right now and are in need of renovation when it comes to their 2d fighters!

you guys need to check out neogeo battle colliseum. i think it's going to be as big as KOF. and for you samurai showdown fans read this! taken from kof cyberfanatics:
"The latest installment in the Samurai Shodown series, Samurai Shodown Atomiswave (SSAW) is well under development. It is being developed by Yuki Enterprise for Atomiswave system. Same developer as Samurai Shodown 5 and 5 Special. A beta test of the game is likely to happen in this month of April.

NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is expected to be released in the month of May"

also if you want to check out neogeo battle colliseum, go here:
http://www.snkplaymore.jp/official/nbc/index.html
and check out the characters section. rumor has it it's not a completed roster jsut yet, and that atomic guy from king of hte monsters is gonna be in it as well.

Nobody really knows the direction of the KOF series but SNK/P themselves. They haven't really said much, but the Neo Geo BC looks very promising. But I do agree with an eairlier post saying that they might be re-drawing the sprites for high-res, which is why they may be skipping a year.

And I think we can all count Capcom out of the 2D fighter biz. The last 2D fighter they came out with was a joke. All they care about is money which doesn't lead to 2D fighters, but to 3D action platformers. And theirs nothing wrong with that. So you Street Fighter fans might strave to death after awhile.

I am pretty sure someone said that they gave the task of making a new Street Fighter game to CAPCOM USA, but I agree with you about CAPCOM not making any new games. On the SNKP note, I do hope they re-draw their sprites. I think it would be great to see what the SNK games could look like with some new graphics

Well I know a new Capcom fighter is coming out but it's gonne be 3D. And the only decent 3D fighter to come out of Capcom is Rival Schools, and that wasn't really a true 3D brawler.

I just don't see Capcom putting forth the effort to make another decent fighter, unless that genre becomes really popular again. Only then can they make money.

If capcom stops making fighting games, I would not mind, but they really need to make a compilation with all the SFII games on it like they are doing for Darkstalkers. I know that there is one for the PS1, but make one with almost no loading times, and I can live off that for years

I think we're gettin' alittle off topic but have you tried Street Fighter AC? That's like having all the old Street Fighter II's and with 3rd Strike that's about as good as it get's. Except it doesn't have Alpha series. I haven't bought SF: AC because I have 3rd Strike and Super Street Fighter II Turbo X both for Dreamcast.
