All of those games were announced long ago except for the Halo Expansion pack.

Earlier this week my nephew was part of a test group for the Nightmare Before Christmas game. I received an e-mail invite from a company that sends me game related surveys every once in a while. I'm too old for any of the target groups but I got my nephew to repsond. $50 and pizza for a few hours of a kid's time. Anyways, he hated the game. He isn't a fan of the movie and has an automatic prejudice against anything with an E rating but didn't find anything engaging about it.

Like epobirs said, most of those games aren't anything new and have been either announced or hinted at for some time. Call of Cthulu looks to be an amazing game. I've been following that one for awhile since I'm a major fan of the source material. It's being developed by Bethesda Softworks; the same people that created the Morrowind games. Looks to be good. Heard they were fine tuning it since it really needed it. It was supposed to have come out last year around Christmas time I believe.

I've also been waiting for SS V for a very very long time. Looks to be good though.

I believe the bolded ones have been announced for a month or two if you use the search to find threads about it.

You're on the site a lot and you haven't seen at least about half of these games mentioned anywhere? Come on. IGN provided me with most of the info you see there, so you can find info on any other games you have no clue on.

I know of most of them.. but that's just it, I know of them.. I don't know what Call of Cthulhu is.. I hear it all the time, though.. I just wanted pictures and whatnot.. but no, I haven't heard of some of them. Some of you can't grasp the fact that I know OF the game, but I wanted more information/pictures.. Yes, I can read the EB page. Yes, I see the two pictures. Some games I hadn't heard of, some I wanted information on, some I wanted pictures of. I just wanted general information, you don't have to be a dick about it.

It's the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. Don't you keep up with big Halo 2/Xbox news?

I posted so people wouldn't post and be all LOOK AT THE COVER~! and crap.

Self Explanatory.

No shit, that's why I laughed at it..

Where the fuck have you been these past few months? This was announced at the end of last year with a cover on EGM or some other mag and pics and such.

I'm starting to think that the only reason you know of these games is because you copy and paste shit from news sites.. I don't keep up with PS2 stuff.

What's hard to grasp here? A TV Games device with WWE games for you to play. There's tons of these types of things in the works for many licenses and such.

Again, no shit. The WTF isn't because I don't understand it, I wanted information and pictures.

God forbid I don't read a Crash C&P hackjob post! I figured some people could inform me more on some games than others.. for instance, look at hiccup. He could tell me more about Call of Cthulhu since he's been following it for a while. Anyways, anyone want to shed some light on some of these games other than "OMFG LOOK AT IGN U NOOB GAWD!"?

I'm sorry that sarcasm is so hard to read on the internet, I guess I should've put a ;) after it. I was making a good-natured poke at you since you do visit the site a lot. Though I don't know why you respnded twice. That one EB page had virtually all the info you'd need to see and pretty much all that IGN has on it, too.

I'm starting to think that the only reason you know of these games is because you copy and paste shit from news sites.. I don't keep up with PS2 stuff.

No, not really. It's that I read mags (mostly cover to cover) and news and actually read about these games and have the memory capacity to remember them and recall most of them when I'm questioned about it.

Again, no shit. The WTF isn't because I don't understand it, I wanted information and pictures.

There you go, 5 seconds on google and WalMart has all the info you need. ;)

If you want more info on them then why don't you do some research. Just go to the Call of Cthulu website. Watch Scorch I'll even spell it out for you.....www.callofcthulhu.com (http://www.callofcthulhu.com) or you get to it through www.bethsoft.com/ Simple as that. The Call of Cthulu game is based off H.P. Lovecrafts original writings of the Cthulu lore as well as what other people have expanded on it. It's a survival horror game from a first person perspective. From the way it looks it reminds me of a Morrowind as how it was a First Person RPG.

Edit: Added to much to the link by accident

I think you should just leave it alone Crash. I don't think there's anything more you or I can do other than post the links to the knowledge that one is looking for. Those that don't want to listen or learn cannot be taught.

Some more info on Cthulhu:

The term "Cthulhu Mythos" is used to describe the vast, mysterious world of gruesome creatures, sinister locations, and terrifying ancient civilizations in which numerous pieces of horror fiction are based. Encompassing science fiction, fantasy, and all things macabre, the Cthulhu Mythos is a constantly evolving collection of tales delving into every aspect of fear.

It originates from the works of H. P. Lovecraft, although many stories have expanded on his concepts greatly to create incredibly diverse scenarios.

This development is mainly due to there being no central authority which controls the rights to Lovecraft's work, and so nothing exists to maintain continuity or restrict the exploration of his ideas.

Many authors object to using the term "Cthulhu Mythos" since Cthulhu himself isn't the most important creature in the Mythos universe. In fact, the term was created by August Derleth, the founder of the publishing house that first printed Lovecraft's works. However, it is a commonly used phrase and still manages to convey a sense of foreboding to any piece of work associated with it.

While you do not need to be familiar with Lovecraft's work or the Cthulhu Mythos in order to play and enjoy Dark Corners of the Earth, the game does include quite a bit of information about the Mythos. Some of it is revealed as part of the story, while other information is hidden away in parts of the game.

What type of game will it be? It looked nice in some screenshots.

What's different than my post about several games asking for info than any other post about a game asking for info? I knew about some of the games, and I realize IGN has information, but I wanted people's opinions an how they've been following it and whatnot.. that, and I don't trust IGN much.

Anyways, thanks Hiccup. I know it's based on the guy's works, but I have no clue what the story plot is about and whatnot.. I would rather read a 3 or 4 sentence summary than a fourty page IGN article, especially if i'm going to have to dig deep to find it :P

I'll give you the info on the game straight from the game's website. Probably be the best so that you can't say that I said something slightly wrong or so.

Call of Cthulhu -- Dark Corners of the Earth is a first-person horror game that combines intense action and adventure elements. You will draw upon your skills in exploration, investigation, and combat while faced with the seemingly impossible task of battling evil incarnate. Other than fighting, you have the ability to interact freely with characters and the gaming environment. To increase the sense of immersion, there is no interface or 'HUD' on screen at any time during normal gameplay. Instead, more intuitive methods are available for you to assess your condition, ammunition levels, and other relevant information. The combat within the game is extremely realistic, with a detailed damage and healing system that breaks down the healing process into conditions and treatments - rather than having the typical FPS 'health packs' lying around everywhere.

The game also allows you to stamp your own style onto the proceedings via an advanced AI system that can react to your method of play. Cthulhu enemies can roam freely around the environment - opening doors and tracking you down single-handedly or in groups. To stay alive you won't just be able to outshoot them, you'll need to outthink them as well.

You will have to keep your mental health in check as you are exposed to the increasingly shocking images of the Cthulhu Mythos. You will need to combat enemies using the environment, powerful and evil artifacts, Alien technology, or by fighting with weapons that are completely authentic for the period.

Set during the 1920s, Call of Cthulhu is based on the Cthulhu Mythos of HP Lovecraft, an American writer of fantasy and horror. Lovecraft's stories tell of unthinkable evil, psychic possession, and mythical worlds and his work has profoundly influenced numerous fantasy and science fiction writers, including Stephen King and Anne Rice.

The technology powering Call of Cthulhu has provided Headfirst with the means to present an incredibly detailed and accurate depiction of the sights and sounds of this unique 1920's New England setting. A diverse range of cutting edge special effects is utilized to ensure both unprecedented levels of realism and an exact portrayal of your mental degredation.

Key Features:

Diverse array of levels from quaint towns to alien locations, including Deep One City
Dynamic Sanity system resulting in hallucinations, panic attacks, vertigo, paranoia, and more!
Incredibly detailed real-time graphics with atmospheric lighting and dynamic shadows
Intelligent gameplay involving puzzle solving as well as combat and exploration
1920s weaponry and vehicles as well as evil artifacts and alien technology
Lovecraft's famous monsters and locations

It's basically like I said, First Person survival horror game based on H.P. Lovecraft's writings. I'll admit though that I could have been a little bit more specific on the plot/setting but most of H.P. Lovecraft's wrok is based in the early 1900s so I kind of assumed.

I also said that it sort of reminded me of Morrowind, which is what I kind of compared it to..

Also, what I think is the difference between you asking about games and others asking about games is that when other people provide the info, those other peole that ask games look it up. You don't really want to do that, even with all of the articles that me and Crash gave you.

Here's my opinions on the games I feel like talking about. Take it however you want.

187 Read or Die - A Hip-Hop car combat game where you play a thug in LA and you have to defend your turf. Seems decent based on the theme of the game, but considering it's UbiSoft, it could be a good game.

Halo 2 MP Map Pack - MS is releasing 9 new maps for Halo 2. Two maps will come out at first for free, then you can purchase another 2 for a price. All 9 will be on that disc for $19.99, but they'll all be free by the end of the summer. Depends on if you can wait or not.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge - Jack returns home to see that Oogie Boogie has taken over the town. It got good reviews in Japan, so it should be a good game once it gets here. It coming out this October and it looks fun. There's a video at the IGN link.

Timeshift - Looks to be a combination of Timesplitters' FPS-ness and time theme with PoP's time altering abilities. Sounds cool so far.

Flipnic - Looks like a pretty cool pinball game that will have lots of cool features like what is in the article that was posted.

Infected - A House of the Dead/FPS-type game that definitely sounds cool. This multiplayer aspect sounds pretty cool: "Those who are victorious in multiplayer combat can "infect" the loser's PSP system with their avatar and gain ranking points as well as create a viral chain as your avatar is passed on to other systems."

Castlevania: CoD - Looks to right the wrongs that LoI had. They're trying to gie it some of the features of SotN to make it a better game. It'll have a free-roaming camera, so there's no more stuck camera obstructing your views. Here's some pics (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/726/726529/imgs_1.html) and videos (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/726/726529/vids_1.html) if you want to check them out.

P.S. You should be a little more descriptive of what you're looking for in terms of the responses you're looking for. ;)

I thought it was only new multiplayer maps. Also, that Haunting Ground game looks sweet. Take the idea of RE0 with controlling two people, but now it is a person and a dog. A fucking dog!
