IF this is true im sure we will have another defective Sony unit. I guess they learned from the DS and PS2 that having your product come out first is a great help. I still think XB will come out first though. M$ is more prepared so they could beat whatever Sony announces by a week.

IF this is true im sure we will have another defective Sony unit. I guess they learned from the DS and PS2 that having your product come out first is a great help. I still think XB will come out first though. M$ is more prepared so they could beat whatever Sony announces by a week.
The article isn't about which console will hit the market first, it's that Sony will be the first to have its press conference to officially Announce/ show its console at E3.

PS to be shown first at E3 . . .
Clearly NeXtbox will come out first . . . Sony will try to milk their software sales this year.
The biggest question to me is backward compatibility . . . if MS doesn't have it, I will be slower to adopt it.

As usual, I'll reserve judgment until I see/hear something official, and even then, I'm taking any company spokesman's words with a grain of salt. I'll actually believe any of their hype when I see the system and games on store shelves. Until that time, I'm not getting my hopes up. Perhaps the current generation stuff will go on clearance when the new stuff finally comes out.
Blah, whatever.
Just get these new systems out so the current generation of systems & games drop in price. :)

the irony of this article is that Microsoft has the same plans as SONY to take over your living room.
Also Tecmo talks big for a company whose lead development team is a bunch of graphics whores. After the PS3 is released, Team Ninja will switch its focus to the PS3 and start bashing the Xbox 360.

Pfft now that's something I don't really believe. For starters I don't see Japan really supporting an American made system that much and also it's going to take alot and I mean alot more 3rd party support to beat out Sony in Japan. But I do think Microsoft has a legit shot at being #1 in America this time around.

I'm convinced that Microsoft will continue to release Xbox iterations until they control the market.

Sony announced they will unveil PlayStation 3 in a press conference on Monday, May 16 at E3. Microsoft will reveal Xbox 2 at 6:45PM PDT on Monday, May 16; and Nintendo will also reveal the next-generation Revolution console at 9AM PDT on Tuesday, May 17.

you can basically chart it. Within this generation they went from DC to PS2 to Xbox. The head of Team Ninja has pretty much already admitted to being a graphics whore on several occasions

the exact quote is that it's because the xbox is the "superior system" altogether, not just in graphics but everything else too(except ram-- in an interview Itagaki mentioned he didn't put weapon switching in the middle of combos in Ninja Gaiden because the xbox only has 65mb of ram, which was mostly used for enemy AI.) I'd say they're tech whores...they pushed the xbox to it's limits in every way with each game.
But yeah, they do make some beautiful games! I just noticed today that the characters in doa and ninja gaiden have fingernails...amazing. I think they almost blew up the box with DOA:U.
