I think 2 dollars is accurate. What they have it selling for isnt a good indicator. Shadow ops reddawn seems to sell for 20 instore but you can still trade it in for 25

It seems like Fye is a great place to go with old sports games. Usually not worth much, but a lot of them from last year still get $11.

I wouldn't expect them to have it the day it releases. FYE seems to be real slow in getting in new release games. None of my local FYE stores even have Donkey Konga and it's been out for over a month!

Really. I went there on the weekend and got some credit and they didn't have it, unfortunately. I probably would have gotten it. Oh well. The good thing about FYE credit is that they sell other things than games too, so you can get some DVDs and CDs you want too.
YoshiFan1
11-02-2004, 07:33 PM
That's true but the DVD's seem to really be overpriced there with some being as high as $28 not on sale so I try to spend the credit on games which at least are in line with other stores.
I just hope they get my Nintendo DS Pre-order in stock somewhere near the launch. I am a little worried I won't get it for a while after the launch but I'm willing to wait to save around $100 compared to having to buy it at another store.

I don't know if this will help or not but you might have to ask an emplyoee if Donkey Konga is in stock. I saw some behind the counter yeserday (and on the floor no less) but they didn't even have a display copy on the sales floor.

I have asked before and they say it's not in yet (behind the counter on the floor they do have other games like DDR Extreme that aren't on the shelf though). I just ended up getting it at TRU last week from the B2G1 sale. I just hope FYE gets the bongos in seperate sometime this year.

If your FYE has copies of Halo 2 next week, they are offering a $15.00 rebate on the game. My store has Halo 2 now, and I asked today about any new rebates, and was told of a $15.00 one. Good on both the regular version and LE.

Has anyone noticed that every FYE store can have different pricing on items. The mall I was at tonight has 2 FYE stores. Store #1 had Shrek 2 for $20, Store #2 had it for $27 and the Sopranos Season 4 Boxset for $90 but Store #3 (another mall) had it for $80.
One store also had GTA SA on sale for $49.99 with a regular price of $54.99 yet another store had it for $49.99 regular price.
It makes it difficult to determine if you are getting the best price on items other than games (since the MSRP of almost new release games is $49.99)

That's the same for my local FYE as well. They have San Andreas for $54.99 with an "ON SALE FOR $49.99" label on it. FYE is so lame! LOL.

Well that sucks because I actually want to play Jane's Attack Squadron for some reason.
ESPN NATIONAL HOCKEY NIGHT 2002 (XBOX)is $24 and it's apparently 'rare' since EB doesn't have it and Gamestop wants $30 for it.
Malice for XBOX shows $27, and its 10 used at EB. I should point out that there are 2 entires for Malice on XBOX so the $27 price could be outdated in stores.

Did they happen to mention to you when they expect the DS systems to arrive? I know each store might be different but when I pre-ordered mine last month they told me it would be on the 25th which is Thanksgiving day and the mall is closed that day. I'm going to check if they have the systems on the official launch date just in case they are wrong. I was a little hesitant to pre-order from them but for around the $50 I spent on buying games to trade in to have enough credit for the system, I figured I would take the chance.

I asked them about the release date of the DS today and they told me they expect to have it on the 21st. The store I pre-ordered at usually meets street dates but I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Cool, it's good to know at least some stores exepect to have it on the 21st.
Has anyone been able to get their store credit put on a gift card directly or been able to use store credit to purchase gift cards recently? I have been to 3 different stores all of which would not do it. The problem I seem to be having is that every game I want to buy is on their website but not available in store and the DVD boxset I want to buy is $75 online and $100 in store so I'd like to get that online as well but all the stores are telling me they can't put the credit on a gift card or that I am not able to purchase a gift card with store credit so I can't use the credit online.

I have that problem too. I said to the manager that it's annoying to carry paper receipts around and wanted a gift card but he said that it wasn't possible. Maybe you could print out the ad and ask your FYE if they'd match their own price online.

It is TOO possible to put the paper receipt store credit onto a giftcard. No one at my store knows how to do it, not even the manager, except this one guy that's pretty cool.
Tell your FYE that it's possible and they need to do it. Otherwise, call corporate and have them send tutor down there. :P

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try printing out the webpage if they still refuse to put it on a gift card.
"No one at my store knows how to do it, not even the manager, except this one guy that's pretty cool.
"
If it is possible for the credit to be put on a gift card, then I guess the employees at the stores I went to also don't know what to do or just don't want to do it.
I'm going to e-mail FYE.com and explain the situation to them and see what they have to say.

My local Coconuts (Oak Lawn, IL) just made a new policy. They no longer give cash for game trade-ins - only DVD and CD trade-ins. Did anyone else (besides me and my friend) trade in their games at that peticular Coconuts to get cash instead of store credit? I'd hate to think it was just MY fault for them changing their policy.
This isn't off-topic. In case you didn't know, Coconuts is a partner company of FYE. In other words, you'll get $27.00 in store credit for Pro Race Driver at Fye; at Coconuts, you get $27.00 in cash!

I didn't know Coconuts gave cash to begin with. I'll have to go to one of their stores and see if they offer cash. It would be a lot better than FYE credit.
Also, has anyone ever sent games into Wherehouse.com? If so, was it a good experience? I gave decided I would send in some games to them instead of taking them to FYE since the trade in values are the same and the website has a better selection.
I was a little hesitatnt to send in the games because they seem like they are even more strict than in store about the condition of the games.
Vicious
11-14-2004, 04:21 PM
No. Coconuts doesn't give you cash for games. Unless you are lucky enough to find a stupid store around you. Out of all the coconuts in my state .. only one gave cash. That's the one that devin mentioned, and they finally changed to store credit only.
If you have a Strawberries near, you are more likely to find one that gives cash. However we only have FYE and Coconuts here in IL.
I suggest you go to the store locator on their sites and call all the stores good luck.
About wherehouse.com .. I've been thinking about the same thing. But first of all they don't have any consoles whatsoever. I don't know if they are strict about condition, but it clearly states in their policy that if they don't want the games that you send .. they will NOT be returned to you.
YoshiFan1
11-14-2004, 04:35 PM
I know it said no visible scratches on wherehouse, I checked the game and didn't see any. That is what concerns me, about how they can keep the games. 3 of the 6 games I sent in were still sealed though so I don't think those will be a problem (I looked at there terms and it didn't say not to send in sealed games, just that you won't get more credit for them).
I'm going to send in the games tomorrow, so once they receive the games and contact me, I'll post if they rejected anything or not.
Vicious
11-14-2004, 04:39 PM
Once again, keep in mind, that if they reject any game, and they hold the right to reject games for no reason, those games will not be returned to you!
Good luck though, if this works out for you ... then I am gonna go ahead and do mine as well. I was planning to dump 300 dollars worth of stuff to get some rare dvds and cds I can't find nowhere else.
YoshiFan1
11-14-2004, 04:54 PM
Where does it say they can reject games for no reason?
I looked at the terms again and just saw this:
"What determines what CDs/DVDs/Games are accepted?
We accept items based upon sales and the current number in stock throughout the Wherehouse chain. In addition, the final arbiter is the condition of the item. It must be free of visible scratches and have all the associated artwork in good condition. Please examine your trade-in items carefully, as rejected product will not be returned to you."
Unless I am reading it wrong, I intepreted it as saying that if they won't accept an item because of the current number it stock, it wouldn't give you the option to sell it in the first place, like how some games don't have values listed. And that they can reject games that are not in good condition.
Saucy Jack
11-14-2004, 05:04 PM
I've traded to Wherehouse.com a few times, and I received pretty good service from them. I got a lot of credit for some DVDs and games that weren't really worth a lot, and was able to buy some good stuff from them.
The cool thing about their trade-in program is that even if the trade-in value for your items go down, you will still get the amount of credit that you were promised when you first added the items to your trade-in cart. Also, if the value of your items happen to go up, they will give you the higher amount of credit.
And to clarify what someone asked: The only time they turn away a trade-in is if it is in bad condition (scratches, etc.). If they won't take something in, it won't give you an option to sell it in the first place, just as YoshiFan1 said.

I was planning on doing that, but one thing I'm concerned about is the cost of shipping, and if for some reason they do reject the game. Another thing is that they overprice games and systems by a ton. I just looked at the cost of a DS preorder and it said 170$. Seriously, that is rediculous. Does anyone know what FYE's prices on the DS are? If they jack systems prices up at release, then that's a little harsh.

You guys are so friggin lucky that you can get preowned games of EBGames.com and trade them in at FYE for tons of credit. I can't do that be my Manager is a condition whore, and he turns down a game if it has ONE visible scratch. Basically, I just have to buy near mint/sealed games off Half.com. I end up getting like 150$ credit for 90$ spent though, so I'm not really complaining.

They do credit you shipping back but it's a minimal amount (media mail rate) and it's only if you send in more than 3 games.
In store, the DS price at FYE is $149.99, at least that's what I was told when I pre-ordered it from them in October.

Yeah there are some mean employees. And guess what, if it wasn't for my friend they would of still given cash. I told him a million times when trading a game only do it with females. He traded to that tall guy and he finally open his eyes and changed their policy.
Anyway, I had good luck with the skinny bitches over there. Especially that one arabian girl. I just hit on them a little bit and I'm set. One fat bitch really gives me trouble every time I go there.
So far I got like 1000 dollars worth of cash there from the day this thread started. I usually dedicate a whole day driving around and picking up games all over to unload them over there. Now that they don't give cash, plus they probably have too many of every game we did... I just do FYE pretty much.

Did that mean bitch (the skinny one) give you the same message she gave me: "Just a heads up. Thursdays are really busy, so if you can, dont come here with your games on Thurdays. We don't have time for you." That's like the rudest, meanest thing you could say to a customer. Right when she said that, I just KNEW I wasn't the only one trading in games and getting hundreds of dollars from Coconuts.
Anyway, I wanna get Coconuts out of business now, because of their stupid new policy and because of the rude employees. So any store credit I get from FYE, I'm just gonna use it at Coconuts. I may not have their cash, but I will have their merchandise without paying a cent.
Maybe I'll see ya around, Vicious!
Hey we should get together sometime for some gaming madness or something. PM me sometime we can set something up. It's been a month since I met up with Chicago gamers.
I know what you mean about that fat bitch! She's the one who makes up her own rules; that's why I thought she just pulled that "we no longer give cash for games" policy out of her ass. Back in September, my two friends and I went to Coconuts when she was working up there and right when we walked in with two stacks of games, she says "You're trading in games? You need an adult with you." I mean WTF was that? We've traded in games like 4 times before that, and we were only 17 and we've never been asked for a driver's license or an adult. So the fat girl who works there just invents her own rules - yet another reason why I want to put them out of business.
Did you really make $1000 in cash at Coconuts? Damn, dude! Coconuts was just getting raped from ALL directions! :)
Maybe one of these days we could hang out though. We'll see.
Vicious
11-15-2004, 02:56 AM
Yeah actually the rule about being 18 is not made up. However that bitch does come up with her own rules, or bend some existing rules to her satisfaction when she doesn't like you. However, I believe it was the guy manager who changed policy and that was due to my friends trading doubles and sealed games.
I did make over a 1000 dollars from coconuts in the past couple of months. I just do three visits a day when the shifts change and do like 4-5 games every time. I also sometimes send my friends right after me.
Now the cash deal is done. So I'm sticking with preordering some Nintendo DS systems for ebay goons. So far I got six preordered and have enough balance to pay them all off.

I hope not, but at this point it doesn't really matter to me anymore since I'm going to be getting the PSP instead of the DS. Anywho, where do all of you guys get your games for so cheap without many scratches and stickered up cases? I'm just buying them online off Half.com, but I'm only making like 10-12$ per game, and I need more damn't! Thanks in advance.

I only bought 1 used game to trade in, Timesplitters from EBGames.com because Wherehouse said $26 but in store it only was $7.50. Otherwise, I buy all my games to trade in sealed. It's just a matter of knowing what is worth a decent amount of trade in value when you see a cheap game. Like when it was posted that Motor Trend was $12.48 at TRU, and Buy 2 get 1 free was going on, a lot of people myself included, went to Toys R Us to get them for $8.33 each.

Malice can be had for 10 bucks used at EB. So far the two copies that I found were like new.
Hypergrind is also 10 bucks at EB.
V-Rally 3 is like 10 bucks new at gamestop.
Those turn out to like 17 bucks profit each or even more if used coupon. Hope it helps

If they have a certain # of used copies of any particular title, they won't take it. It's possible you went to a FYE that someone who is doing the same thing (trading in all the cheap games that give high credit) already traded in a few copies of those games. At one FYE I went to, there were already 3 copies of Go Go Hypergrind traded in for example before I ever traded a game in before.

The best part about MOtor Trend Lotus Challenge at TRU was that if you bought two of them with a $20 game (like say, Animal Crossing) the $20 game would be free and MTLC would drop to like $12 each!
And V-Rally 3 is $7 new at EB. Ask an emplyoee if they have it in stock because I been to 5 different EB stores and they all had at least 2.

Hahah...yes, this definitely happens. I tried to do a trade at one store where I have done a bunch and the guy told me they had too many of those games. I said "Really?" and he reached into a cabinet and started pulling out stacks of Pro Race Driver, Black and Bruised, Motor Trend, etc. with a somewhat disgusted look on his face. I was probably responsible for most of them too hahahah! :)
The other major bummer is the store in town that used to take video games for trade-in even though they don't sell them (so they basically never had too many of the same game) was ordered to stop taking games. Really sucks. :(
GBA:
Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy $12.00
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity $8.50
King of Fighters EX Neoblood $8.50

Wow, talk about a barrage of questions. Anyway here goes.
Yes I got them a week early. They weren't with new releases but they were sitting in the section for TV DVD sets. No they did not have the gift set. ::deep breath:: No I will not qualify for the rebate and it wasn't on sale (like their DVDs usually are the first week) so I had to pay a little more but I figure by saving myself between 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours of driving time and gas by not making a trip next week jsut to get them it kind of balances out. That and the fact that despite spending $160 in store credit, I still have over $90 left.

OMFG soooo ticked I went to FYE today to trade in sneakers and motor trend lotus challenge and the manager was being a dick. She wouldn't let me sell anything cuz I'm not 18 yet. Even so, what really ticked me off was that she spoke to me in a condescending manner just cuz i'm a kid. Hecka disrespected me. And I asked nicely too. She was a jerk about a rebate form?! That sucks. As for not being able to sell anything, it's possible that is their policy and it's just not usually enforced. I traded in 1080 at Strawberries for $26 on Sunday. It might just be wherehouse prices that are down.
But if FYE really is dropping the prices on their games I bet it's because they got hit with tons of credit slips when people picked up their Nintendo DS.

Wherehouse.com doesn't list trade in prices for either Malice or 1080 anymore :( I went in at 10 p.m. Monday night BTW. I gotta figure out how to get my moneys worth or my money back from the two games now !

I did use 3 credit slips to pay the balance of my DS, so maybe you are right. I think it's possible that a lot of people just had so much credit and nothing to spend it on and the DS seemed like the best way to spend a lot of credit at once to get something nice.
Had FYE had the games I actually wanted to buy (Taiko Drum Master, Sega Superstars, Karaoke Revolution Vol 3, Donkey Konga, Nicktoons Eyetoy), maybe I would have used up a lot of the credit earlier and not had so much credit to use on the DS. If they aren't going to carry any of the non "big name" games, I might not trade in so much anymore anyway. I never expected them not go get in any of those games.
Strider Turbulence
11-23-2004, 03:50 PM
I know of at least 3 people who used store credit to pay for their DS this week. The company probably figured something was up when they all have Motor Trend Lotus Challenge, Room Zoom, ESPN 2k4 and V-Rally 3 on them.
They have all those games you mentioned at the Strawberries I sometimes go to but that is probably because it's a huge store (7 floors).
YoshiFan1

I haven't seen any Strawberries around me unfortunately. It definetly sounds nicer than FYE. I have been to 4 different FYE stores and no stores have any of those games. I sent a bunch of games to Wherehouse.com last week who does have most of those games so I might just send my games to them from now on but the problem is 1 copy of a title per person.

Well, I am done with this business... for anyone new to this post or anybody wanting to experiment at wherehouse or whatever please read my story:
I live in Arizona where there is only 1 wherehouse store and I think there's an FYE around somewhere but it's probably about 2 hours away.
Yesterday upon reading this thread a light clicked in my head and I drove down to EB and picked up 4 room zooms, out of my list of the "cheap at EB but high trade in prices at wherehouse" it was the only one available in decent shape. Total spent: ~ 43 dollars.
Drove immediately to wherehouse with the stack, manager rang me up and realized I had 4 sealed copies of the same game and looked at me like I stole them or something ~ in the end I could only trade in 1 of the games @ 26$... I picked up MGS3 and Underworld Extended version while there for about 67 dollars, after I left I realized what a horrible purchase I made (price! not of the items themselves)
Drove back to another EB near home and returned the 3 room zooms, bought 1080 avalanche and malice, used the rest of the credit on a wireless controller I really wanted.
Went back to wherehouse that same night brought with me my Underworld regular ed. and ps2 frequency along with 1080 and malice, underworld fetched my 5$ and frequency $7.50, as I mentioned earlier Malice "wasn't in the system" and 1080 came up $.01.
Today I brought 1080 and Malice to Gamecrazy, I got 22 dollars trade in credit for the games so I picked up a pstwo stand (15 freaking dollars!!!) and Room Zoom because I figured I could sneak past the manager and get another 26 bucks for it... cost to me: another 10 dollars because room zoom is 15 bucks and the stand was another 15.
Drove down to wherehouse, manager wasn't around so a girl rings me up and says she can only give me $15 in credit, looking at the receipt I see that the game came up as "DC racing" I let her know and she tells me that it's "one of those games" that rings up wrong and there is nothing she can do. I want to be able to tell her I got 26 dollars just yesterday for it and it rang up RIGHT but alas I can't so I instead mention that the website has 26 dollars are the trade in value, she doesn't budge and I walk out with the 15 in cash...
I am done with this business, it's way too much work and it doesn't seem to be yielding me awesome amounts of money like everyone else ~ that and the stress it puts on my conscience sucks too.
Don't mean to scare you guys away, just wanted to let you know that not every store is an easy score, it's not worth it expecially when there is only one TWEC store nearby.

So wait...you go into the store with 4 sealed copies of a relatively unknown game, and then have a problem when they reject taking your four sealed copies? Boo Freaking Hoo. Use some common sense and take one game in at a time and make sure you open it before trading it in. And the reason why 1080 came up as only a penny is because they have too many copies in stock. This happens frequently especially when people abuse the system.

What strain on your conscience? It doesn't sound like you did anything illegal or unethical. You simply were a smart consumer who took advantage of a store's ignorant and just plain dumb business model.
On another note, even though I didn't really want one that badly at this point, nearly picked up a DS on the weekend at FYE. I was trading in some games for credit and saw they had one left. They would sell it, but they had done the EB/Gamestop thing of gutting it and taking the system out of the sealed box already. No thank you. Why is the game industry the only one where they sell already-opened product for the same price as sealed new? Try doing that with a floor model TV or something, sheesh.

MX Superfly is one of those weird trade in price games where on one system, the game is worth 3 - 4 times as much as the same game on other systems, since the Gamecube version was worth $8.50 but was recently lowered to $6 and the PS2 version is either $6 or $8.50

I unexpectedly was at a mall today that I don't normally go to and of course, the one time I don't have any store credit with me is the time I find stuff that I have been looking for but was never able to find. It's YMMV for sure. All of my rebates for FYE have been rejected so far.

Star Wars DVD: Rejected because it sent 1 day AFTER the post mark limit.

Oh great, I sent in a AA battery receipt copy that was printed for the rebate because I had store credit left on it as well. The manager assured me that a copy would be ok. If it gets rejected, I am going to complain until it gets honored (I'll write to FYE, and take it further if neccessary).
It seems like rebate companies look for a chance to reject a rebate for any possible reason.

And when I bought Fable (Xbox) from Coconuts awhile ago, I sent the rebate form, but instead of the UPC, I just mailed it with the sticker on the wrapper (I'm not gonna cut something that I just paid 50 bucks for. Sorry) and they accepted it. Just this saturday, I recieved my check for $10.00 on behalf of purchasing Fable.
On a side note, I'm surprised that Trans World Entertainment (parent company of FYE, Strawberries, Coconuts, etc.) actually sends you a check for $10.00 rather than $10.00 worth of store credit. I used store credit to buy Fable so, overall, they gave me $10.00 and Fable for nothing. It's just amazing!!!!

Nothing got rejected, all 6 games were accepted. It did take over 2 weeks for the entire process but that was because I shipped Media Mail and I live in PA and the games were sent to CA. The only problem is everything I wanted that was in stock when I sent in games, is sold out so I have to wait for a restock of the items before I can use the credit.

Pulsar, which FYE did you go to and when?
Just came back from an FYE. Little rant: I was in line but there was a lady in front of me. Manager said he could help her but she wanted to talk to the guy at the next register because she already talked to him and he would know what she's talking about. The managers sees the games in my hand and says that he'd rather help someone out who's buying something first, I mean, wtf is that all about? She already said she'd rather talk to the other guy. So when the manager looks at my games, he asks if all of them are kiddy games. He says that they don't sell well. I ask him even during the holdiday season? He said no, then proceeds to look at the games.
Reconfirming:
Metal Dungeon $18.00
Battle Engine Aquila $27.00
Sneakers (rings up as Nezmix) $27.00

Hey sway,
I made a spreadsheet a few weeks back that has Gamecrazy, Blockbuster/Gamerush, FYE, and Wherehouse. Give me your email and I will send it to you. Maybe you can build on it further.
Oh, BTW - Siphon Filter is now getting $11 for trade in value. Everything else still is the same (at least here in Chicago's SW suburbs).
Also, I made a spreadsheet of all the top trade in values for games from www.wherehouse.com just before it went down. You can download it here: http://yaws01.homestead.com/files/Top_Trade_Values_Wherehouse.xls

Hey Pulsar- I go to Montgomery Mall, also. Was the guy you got real tall and sort of gangly, with short hair? 'Cause he deducts trade values. I'm sure of it.

I just received my rebate for Def Jam Vendetta Fight for NY yesterday from FYE. They had no problem accepting the receipt that was a reprint.

superhugebutt, No, I got the other guy, but I know who you're talking about. Maybe it's they're store, cause I got 26 for Room Zoom last week, and 15 yesterday.

Hmm...I got $26 for Room Zoom yesterday, not $15, at my FYE, and for some reason Malice didn't show up in there system. Its getting kinda hard to fake the  and hide the  when I bring in games to them.

I usually try Willow Grove Mall. They seem to be more accepting of trades (at least with me).

It's YMMV for sure. All of my rebates for FYE have been rejected so far.
Fable: Recpeit showed it was bought 1 day BEFORE the rebate offer. Rejected
Star Wars DVD: Rejected because it sent 1 day AFTER the post mark limit.
Family Guy DVD: Rejected because I sent in the UPC bar from the wrapper.
Spiderman 2: Rejected. Was on the same reciept as some store credit so I got a customer copy and sent that one in.
Just a note that the sticker UPC worked for me on the Star Wars OT. I haven't tryed any other rebates yet, but there seems to be a good chance that it will work with most things.
Ok, here's the deal. I incorporated my Wherehouse trade in value into the one RavenHawk created. It has a seperate listing for each game and respective system and has trade in values for FYE, Gamecrazy, BB/Gamerush, and Wherehouse. Of course, if there are any trade in values for EB or Gamestop, those will be added. This list really depends on everyone here to input their findings since the credit may vary store by store. So even if you're trading in something already stated on the list, post what you got so we can confirm what is already there. Don't exclusively rely on this list but it's a really good benchmark on the amount of credit you could get. I'll try to update it once a week.

First off, don't leave the games sealed. Second of all, don't trade multiples. You are only asking for trouble my friend.
couldn't have said it any better. if i were a manager, i would've done the same.
EDIT: thanks for all your hard work sway :)

Oi, decided to give this a try for the 1st time today.
Picked up a copy of Motor Trend, Room Zoom, And nba 2k4
Rang up as 27,26, and 24 respecfully, all good right? wrong.
the manager then proceeds to overide the prices, and put in $7.50 for everything, and i end up with $22.50. I then complain to the manager, and then he says "i cant give you these prices for the game, its too much, and i know u got these from EB to trade here".
yeah, looks like i wont be trading anytime soon seeing as thats the only FYE within a 200 mile radius of me

You should have denied buying the games from EB and demanded the full trade-in credit. No way in Hell I would've accepted less than a third of what I should have got just because of some jerk employee. You said it was your 1st time trading in games there, so he had NO right to accuse you, a complete stranger, of buying the games from EB. Don't let these FYE people walk all over you. You KNOW that the games were worth $77.00 in trade-in credit right?
Bottomline, you were straight-up robbed, because you said the games actually rung-up as $27, $26, and $24, right? And he only gave you $22.50... With a little more "action" on your part, you would've gotten the full credit, whether you had to go to FYE at a different time when that guy wasn't working, or ask for the name and number of his district manager, or whatever...
BTW, did you at least earn a profit from the $22.50 that FYE gave you?

Horrible news, it looks like trade in values are dropping.
I placed an order using Wherehouse credit on Wherehouse.com and I noticed it identified it as Spun credit.
I went to Spun.com to see if the values are listed there.
Motor Trend is down to $11
ESPN Basketball Xbox went from $24 to $3.50
Wipeout Fusion is down to $4.50 from $8.50
Stuntman went from $7.50 to $2.50
Donkey Konga went from $19 to $13
Extermination went from $6 to $4.50
DDR Extreme bundle went from $23 to $16
Taiko Drum Master went from $23 to $9
Max Payne PS2 went from $14 to $4.50 (XBox version is only $2!)
And remember how except for old sports games, almost everything was worth $6? THPS 3 on PS2 is worth $0.50!
Just some examples. This does not look good and it could mean the end of the great deals :(

NOOOOOO!!1!!
OMFG THOSE ASSHOLES!
i was just about to start trading shit too! I'm totally taking a shit in the back corner of their store next time i go in there.
So how exactly is Wherehouse.com tied in with Spun.com? I'm guessing that Wherehouse.com is letting Spun.com gradually take over the trade in part of their website. Hopefully the trade in credit does not reflect in any TWEC store.

That Spun.com list was...depressing. I don't think the prices for those will be the same in store though ($13 for Resident Evil 4?)
I traded in Dinotopia, ESPN2k4, and PRD a couple of days ago for $77. I'm going back to Gamestop today to get the 3 more copies of those same games and then I think I'll be done with FYE.

WWE Smackdown here Comes the Pain (PS2) $18
This CANNOT be right......
Allow me to eat my own words. As of December 3rd, you still get $18.00 for WWE Smackdown: HCTP (PS2).

My friend and I went to FYE today, and the trade-in prices still seem to be pretty accurate:
Freestyle Street Soccer (GCN) - $17.00
Freestyle Street Soccer (Xbox) - $17.00
Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter (PS2) - $8.50
Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain (PS2) - $11.00 (it's official)
^add these to the list^
BTW, Freestyle Street Soccer is the "Blockbuster exclusive" game that you can get at your local Blockbuster or GameRush for less than 7 bucks each. :D

I've found that the problem with freestyle soccer is that the employees take one look at the cover, see the "blockbuster exclusive" and hand it back to me saying they cant take it
