Wait a minute..i thought Black and Bruised got 27 dollars trade in credit at Strawberries and not at FYE. If it's that much at FYE i think i've been missing out on a game. I don't have a Strawberries here, but i do have an FYE and im running out of games to use.

How much store credit does the PS2 version of ESPN NBA 2K4 fetch? The Xbox version fetches $24.00!
I think it's $17 (not 100% sure though)

Damned FYE! About two weeks ago I went in to do a trade-in but was told they wouldn't be accepting until after Christmas. Then last friday I called and the employee said only on Mon-Fri before 8. I went into the store the same day and was told that they would do trade-ins on the first day of next month. I hate when employees give wrong info. Perhaps a massive overhaul of trade-in prices is underway?

I went into a Wherehouse yesterday at 11am, clerk said they start taking in trade ins at noon. Came back to get some pretty crappy prices and I asked why I had to wait till noon. The clerk said they'd rather help people who are buying stuff first. Since it was "busy" when I came in, they didn't want to tie up a register for trade ins. I really think that's BS and they made that policy up because if it is true, they should have some sign on their flyer and instore.

StriderTurbulence, it's time for an update. Look at ALL the new games and their trade-in prices that have been added in this thread since November 17, 2004. You should put ALL the games on the front page. Not just some.

Ok I'm gonna answer for Strider here. Do you have any idea how much time that would take? The nice thing to do would be to ASK nicely for him to update the first page, even then I wouldn't expect him to do it simply because that would take a hell of a lot of time to go through every page. Besides, all the prices seem to be in a state of flux right now so there's no point in making anything concrete.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I often ask him to update the first page. And it's not something that "CANT BE DONE!!" as you make it seem. I've done it several times:

How do you use your FYE store credit online (fye.com, coconuts.com, etc.)?

The receipts can't be used but some stores will let you put it on a gift card which can be used online.

I think trade in values have been lowered in store now.
I went to trade in the following-
Batlle Engine Aquilla, Wherehouse was showing it as I think either $26 or $27 when the values were up. The trade in value in store showed $8
VF 4 Evolution was showing $8.50 on Wherehouse, the value was $6
Savage Skies was showning $4.50 on Wherehouse, the value was $4.
The last 2 weren't that big of a deal, compared to Battle Engine but I was not happy when I saw all 3 games declined in value.
Anyone else have similar findings with other games?

tell me if this is how it works at all FYE stores...
i had $24 in store credit. I went and got KOTOR.
she took my receipt with the credit on it and then scanned the game, put in that i gave her $24, and gave me my change back in cash.
is that how it works everywhere? if so i could've just easily bought a pack of gum the day i got my store credit and easily spent the money at any of the stores...
RedvsBlue
12-16-2004, 03:52 PM
No it shouldn't always work like that. I think its some kind of quirk in their system and it depends on the clerk ringing it up. Usually you get another reciept with a barcode at the bottom of it that works as store credit. BTW what happened to you taking a dump in their store?
Cracka
12-16-2004, 03:58 PM
lol someone said it had already been done, and then i'd just be known as the guy who copied the guy who crapped in the store...
anyways this woman didnt really have a clue what she was doing. I handed her the receipt and she just stared at it for a few minutes then she was like is this number your store credit? and i'm like.... yes.....
and then she rang it up.

Just came back from the mall. Bought used copies of Trend Motor and ESPN NBA 2k4, and got the Gamespot guy to give me two blank dvd cases, which I then transferred the games to. A LONG wait later I walked away with 40 bucks, 13 from ESPN and 27 from Trend Motor.
I got the manager when I traded them in, and he looked very closely at the computer screen for about five minutes before lowering the price of the NBA game to 13. I wish he wasn't there - his employee was, at first, saying "Just give it to him." Ah well, still made a profit.
Hunting for more games tomorrow. Will post results.
Oh, and what you guys stated was true - the look on their faces when a 27 dollar trade in rings up is PRICELESS.
Oh, and I almost forgot, the guy gave me CASH. We have a special Games-only FYE, and the manager was confused at first but ended up giving me 40 cash, no deductions or anything. Sweet deal.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what I might get for Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue(GBA)? Does it matter if it's sealed or not or should I just unwrap it before I go?
YoshiFan1
12-17-2004, 12:48 AM
Probably $8.50. If you think you can get more elsewhere but still want to try it leave it sealed. I know everyone says to take off the shrinkwrap when trading in the games but on games that I am unsure about values, I leave the shrinkwrap on. I have never had a problem from any of the FYE's I have been to about trading in a sealed game.

I haven't had any problems with that either. Sometimes they open it after telling me how much credit they can give, which they really should because it is possible to pop out the disc and reseal the game.

ATV Offroad Fury 3 (PS2) - $14.00
Of course I got this game FREE from Sony. But it's not even worth trading it in to FYE. GameStop gives you $16.00 in store credit, and EB Games gives you $20.00 in store credit. Not to mention, both of these stores have bigger selections than FYE. So, it's off to EB Games I go!

After a bit of hunting and gathering, I went to Strawberries with the following:
1080 Snowboarding
Pro Race Driver x2
Room Zoom x2
Malice
ESPN NBA 2k4
Strawberries rejected them ALL. The guy was one of those disk nazis that see a thumbprint or something on the back of a disk and reject it. He almost took Malice, but after some fiddling with the computer, stated that they had too many. I'm thinking he saw the price that it was worth and didn't want to give it up. So I went to an FYE, which was very much out of the way, and got:
26 for 1080
26 for each Room Zoom
24 for NBA 2k4
They would not take Malice or the Pro Race Drivers, stating that they couldn't take games they didn't sell in the stores. Anyone know anything about this?
putney
12-29-2004, 01:42 PM
I found that Malice won't scan in using the barcode, which is the only way about 2/3rds of FYE employees will check it. If they look it up manually in the computer, it comes to $26 (or $27 can't remember). PRD is the same way sometimes, but it depends on the barcode sticker on the case. Never successfully traded that one, however.

I've been successful with Malice. Pro Race Driver they have to look up, and some employees won't do it, so YMMV on that.

BUMP for a "sticky" reason...
also to relay my front page message.....
as read now on post 1....
Wow.... This thread has clearly been of great importance and value to a lot of people...
I had no idea that it'd see nearly over 35,000 hits by the end of 2004.
I hope this thread continues to live on under its foster parent StriderTurbulence, as he has taken over some time ago....
Just wanted to update here... let eveyone know how proud I was of everyone for making the best of this highly profitable and enjoyable trade-in oppertunity...
I know I have... through 2004 alone, at multiple FYE's, I've gotten DS's, PS2's, amazing Xmas gifts for everyone I know, a gigantic boost to my own library, and even gaming gifts for charity.... THOUSANDS of dollars worth of goodies... for barely $200 after all was said and done... travel and a little time each week my only efforts... BUT I HAVE MY FELLOW CAGers TO THANK FOR LISTING WITH ME!
These trade-in deals have been priceless to me... and I wish that they remain as dear to eveyone else throughout a safe and Happy 2005.
With that said.... Have a peek at Strider Turbulences posts, as well as those of YoshiFan1, they clearly have a handle on the situation.... so read on to the list a few posts below... and look for breaking news in the most recent posts.
Enjoy! :D

Syphon Filter and Sudeki's prices have lowered..however i'm not sure about Driv3r's. I'm thinking of buying three copies at blockbuster with the buy 2 get 1 free deal. It turns 34 dollars into 75 FYE credit.

Nice post joystickz
With some trade in values dropping I had the thought that maybe with the new year, other prices could drop but today Room Zoom still got $26 and Motor Trend got $27. Both games were rejected at 3 FYE stores so I was happy to get rid of them at a store that would accept them.

I have a favor to ask of you all. At your local FYE store, can you put all your store credit on a gift card? I have 3 local FYE stores and none of them will allow customers to put their store credit on a gift card (for no given reason). So, if your local FYE store allows this, can you do me a favor and put my store credit on a gift card? I could mail it [my store credit] to you and if you could be so kind to trade it for a gift card at your FYE, then it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Why the change of pace? Well, turns out that FYE's B&M selection is starting to suck (at least over here), and their online selection is 100% better! Need proof? Online has Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (PS2) for goodness' sake! :P

Traded in some games today:
Manhunt - Xbox (DIDNT EVEN WORK): $10
Crash Nitro Kart - Xbox: $7.50
Luigi's Mansion - GC: $8.50
ZooCube - GC: $8.50
Hunter: The Reckoning - GC (I stuffed a bunch of random inserts inside the case cuz I don't have the manual and the asshat didn't even realize it): $7.50
Knights of the Old Republic - Xbox: $7.50
Maybe not real honest, but they fucked me once when I bought a game from them that barely worked (froze, bad glitches, extreme loading times and horrendous disc sounds) and couldn't return it. So.. Payback.

Just as a heads up, EB now has a buy one get one 50% off sale going on used games. Great trade in fodder potential.
$17 trade in credit at FYE
Culdcept-$10 at EB
Haunted Mansion-$13 (less on X-box, like $8)
NFL Blitz Pro $10
NHL Hitz Pro $10
ESPN Basketball 2k4 (ps2) $8
ESPN Hockey 2k4 $8
Maximum Chase $10
These are more common and easier to go ahold of than our $25+ dollar favorites like Go Go Hypergrind and Pro Race Driver.

here we go....
Hi everone,
Well you knew it had to happen sooner or later. How can any store give you $27 for a game like Lotus Extreme Challenge, $26 for Room Zoom and countless other outrageous deals and survive?
Well, they don't. Not for long, anyway.
I recently bought some games for $9 which fetch $20+ at FYE and headed down to my local store to trade them in for obscene amounts of credit (like I diid during the TRU $5 sale...got $575 in store credit from FYE for about $40 in purchases).
Well, the manager at the store tells me they aren't taking trades because the store is CLOSING. All games are 20% off, so I make the most of it and snag Mech Assault 2 for $40.
Then I head down to another FYE about 30 miles away at another mall and....guess what..they've already closed down permanently (was there about 4 weeks earlier and had no clue).
I finally find another FYE subsidiary store (different name, same company) and the manager tells me FYE is CLOSING more than 2/3 of ALL its stores nationwide.
I told him about all my good deals they've given me in the past and, being a gamer, he had a pretty good laugh and couldn't believe how much I scored in credit from the TRU sale. Even acknowledged himself it's probably why they're going under.
Another FYE in the area closed down about four months ago, so these closings were not really unforseen. However, I had absolutely no idea it would be on this large of a scale.
Just wanted to give anyone with outstanding credit at FYE (and I know there are a TON of fellow CAG like me who do) to scoop up what you can FAST while there's still a store near you. Too bad you can't swap the credit for gift cards...that way you'd still have the Web site to order from.
Not sure if the store closings will affect other stores owned by Transworld Entertainment (Coconuts, etc.) since we have none here and the manager wasn't sure, either.
A sad day for all of us CAGs for sure, but I think we all kinda KNEW it was coming given the insane trade-in prices. I mean, WTF, $26 for Room Zoom??? Games I traded in during the TRU sale were still seen sitting on the shelves at insane prices four months after I traded them in.
Hopefully this info gets out to everyone with FYE credit. If you know anyone, pass the word along as a common courtesy.
Really sucks because I was going to use a mass amount of my credit on the PlayStation Portable and some nice games for it when it hits later this year.
Not many big new releases, either, in the next few months so I'm left to pick up whatever old stuff they've got left.

One FYE store near me (Record Town) closed down after Christmas and I thought it was because of....trade ins, but I found out yesterday that their lease expired and the mall didn't want them back.
But damn does this suck...
Edit: I noticed yesterday that the woman doing the trade ins was looking over a list before scanning my games. I think FYE finally caught on and is trying to do something about it.
But when Wing Commander Prophecy, the same game tons of people got for free at TRU the past few weeks is going for $15 (and they sell it new for $14.99) they still have a long way to go.
Unreal II $17 (most people picked this up for under a $1 at TRU)
Sword of Mana $8.50

Immediately after reading that FYE was closing, I literally got out of my seat and went to the mall to shovel more crap down their throats.
Now at our mall, we have two FYE's - the music and dvd store, and adjacent to it, an FYE GAMES store that just opened in November. It is a great place to use all that store credit, and the staff are actually quite knowledgable about videogames, so much so that when I took NBA 2k4 there for the first time, the manager actually noticed the mistake in price and didn't give me the 24 or so dollars it was worth.
Anyhow, I asked the guys there if they were still doing trade ins and if they knew about the closings, and they stated that they were and it was probably a regional thing. Considering that they just opened, I highly doubt they'll close anytime soon.
And good news for everyone who hates hanging onto those receipts - after getting my credit back I asked if I could use the credit to buy a giftcard, and low and behold, they said I could. Hurrah!

And once again, they are sticklers about accepting "used" games, right? Is it just the disc quality or do they scrutinize the quality of the cases also? I have some games that I've gotten thru GameTZ trades that I don't want in my collection.
Strider Turbulence
01-13-2005, 03:53 PM
Case quality don't really matter as long as it isn't broken and you take off all the visible stickers.
Disc quality depends on the person doing the trade ins. Some don't really care unless there are visibile and multiple scrathces. I had one lady rejected a brand new game I bought in because there was dust on the disc.

Alright guys, it must be said - I am the ONLY ONE who runs into asswipe managers EVERY time I go to trade in anything at EVERY FYE/Coconuts I go to??? I think I've been to about 7 or 8 between NY and NJ and every time I have a major problem and am made to feel like I'm doing something illegal by selling them items. The worst was today though, at the Palisades Center Mall in NY (head's up - DON'T GO TO THIS FYE!!!). The kid told me they couldn't take sealed games so that I should go outside the store and open them up and come back in. Something about theft prevention. Ok, so I give my other opened, used games and CDs at which point the manager comes over and says you can only trade in a maximum of 20 items a day and that I should come back tomorrow. Ok, so I don't raise a fuss either. I traded in 20 items, went outside the store, opened up all of my other games and waited for my gf to meet me. Went back in the store and had her go up to trade in the games since they wouldn't let me and then another dick manager comes over and starts yelling and sreaming "We saw you outside the store opening these games! We can't take these games because they are NOT used and we don't know where they came from!" I started trying to rationalize with him at which point he shouted in my face "THE ANSWER IS NO - WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY OF YOUR GAMES!!!" and stormed away. LOL!!! I was speechless. I didn't know selling new discs was such a damn problem! Is this company just trying to alienate it's few current customers and trying to go completely bankrupt or what? I've had some amazing experiences at other stores just trying to trade in normal CDs. Other people here HAVE to have had similar experiences. It's just unbelievable.

We can't take these games because they are NOT used and we don't know where they came from!" I'm going to have to side with the manager on this one. Anything in brand new packaging is just fishy. He's just doing his job, and you're the one trying to, seemingly, pull a fast one on him. Those people who try to trade in still sealed games, games with stickers on them, or multiple copies of the same game at one time are just asking for it.

Eh, that doesn't make any sense. If I bring in games that are in mint condition and like-new they should take them, period. I didn't even have multiples of games and some of these were rather good games they probably don't see often. If I'm a store I'd RATHER have new games that someone just opened than well-used games that are in worse shape. Well, their loss. I'll just take them to another store and roll the dice.

That sucks they are being so difficult about taking sealed games. When I am unsure about a game value or I think it has a good chance of being rejected because a store has a lot of copies (like Motor Trend), I keep it sealed and have never had a problem. I would think employees would rather take sealed games in because it makes their job easier by not having to inspect the disc for scratches

I've done sealed games a few times myself without any problems. I just usually tell whoever's working that I got the game as a gift without receipt and either don't want it or already have it. Never given me a second look or had any questions.

Same here,
There are plenty of red flags that would cause someone to be wary of accepting a trade-in and you raised about all of them. It's been posted here many times that sealed games are frowned upon in most places for trade-ins. Along with multiple copies of the same title and just the shear number of games traded in at once... wow, nothing strange going on there.
Standing out in front of the store opening the games and using your GF as a beard in such an obvious manner - then making a stink about it only made things worse. How about a little common sense?
Seems to me you were trying to put one over on FYE and you're mad because they didn't fall for it.
I've got nothing against the FYE trade-in deal and have done the same myself. Sometimes you get a manager/employee who's a jerk or aware of the scam and denies the trade but that's just part of the game - suck it up and move on to the next store. It's not in the constitution that you get to make a profit on FYE's errors.

If you look back a couple of pages, theres a whole discussion on this, it comes up as either dc racer or OC racer when they scan the barcode and isn't identified as Room zoom which is why they werent able to look it up

My FYE is useless, they won't take any GBA games, games with stickers from other places on them (such as EB), and they won't take back Room Zoom either.
Anyone else run into the same problems as me?
Strider Turbulence
01-18-2005, 10:31 AM
Yeah.
I only know of one FYE that will take GBA games and that is where I unloaded my Virtua Tennis and Wing Commanders I got for free at TRU (They were 8.50 and $15, the last time I went Wing Commander was $10).
For the EB stickers, just peel them off (w/goo gone for easy results) or get replacement dvd cases Look for X-men Legends and THUG2 Sampler dvds (.01) and gut them.
With Room Zoom, the problem is that your store had 3 or more copies or are refusing them because of the high value.

It's not just you. I've been to them as well. I went to the one in Wayne\Totowa for the penny games thing awhile back and the manager was yelling at me and said I won't give you the games for free and I said well then that's false advertising...so on and so forth. I really REALLY hate these stores. The managers always give you dirty looks or make stupid comments about trading stuff in. One actually told me to call ahead of time because they get so busy...and he keeps saying it as I look around and there are about a total of 4 people working and 2 customers!!! I haven't been to any in months because it just isn't worth the aggravation. You weren't doing anything wrong with bringing in sealed games. You own them...they are yours. He doesn't have to take them but he could have been nicer about it. I love how they act as if they are doing you a favor by taking your games. The company offers these deals and then these people give you are hard time about it? As for the trying to pull a fast one comment that is crap. If someone says I'll take your $3 game and give you $20 then why not? He is only doing what FYE says they do. We buy games!!! blah blah. Most of these companies charge over retail for CD's, Games, and DVD's. You could say it is because people take advantage of these deals but these places have been overcharging from the day they opened. I know the other worry is about stolen goods but like he said he didn't bring two of the same game in! If he brought a sealed case of 100 Grand Theft Auto III's then I would suspect something. It all comes down to customer service and these places have none. Maybe it's only this area but it's almost as if these people are trained to be idiots.

Made my first trade visit to FYE today. I took them Sudeki, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (PS2), Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed, Kingdom Under Fire, and Apex. They offered the price that's listed on the first page for KUF, $19.xx. AE:P&P was not in their system. And the rest, they offered $7.50/ea for.
I traded them KUF and Apex, and broke even with what I paid on those 2. I didn't really care for them, so that was ok w/ me. I meant to take my copy of Go! Go! Hypergrind, but I forgot it, so I'll have to try that another day. I hit the Gamestop in the same mall to see if they had any on the list to trade in, but they didn't. I'll be going to another GS tomorrow at lunch to try my luck there tho.

Amen! I was doing absolutely nothing wrong by trading in perfectly good games that they accept. To those of you talking about "pulling a fast one" or "scamming" you have no idea what you are talking about. Like jkam said below I am abiding by the store's policy and if these stores treat their customers like that they are asking for problems. The whole situation is ludicrous and the fact that people on this website are siding with the store is unbelievable. There is no excuse for a store to be acting like that to its customers. NONE!

I went about two weeks ago to trade in games for Resident Evil 4, and this is what I got for what:
Unreal Torunament XB $18.00 (paid $9.99 at CC back in October)
Lotus Challenge XB $18.50 (paid $7.49 at TRU just a few days prior to trade in. seems like this one's going down in value)
MK: Deadly Alliance GC $8.50 (also had XB version from PSI Ops promo, so this I didn't need)
Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer GC $8.50
Splashdown 2 PS2 $8.50
Values may vary, depending on the stock they have in store. It seems like some stores give slightly different values than other places.

I'm guessing it's YMMV, although perhaps you just worded it wrong. What you need to tell them is that you want to use your store credit to BUY a giftcard, not that you want them to transfer the credit to one. I've been to a few places and asked if I could get the credit on a giftcard, and after they refused, I then asked if I could buy one with the credit I have. It's a bit of a loophole, but should work in some places, depending on the employee at the register.

Cleaned out some of my old $5 cc/bb games from last year:
Wario World -7.50
Ico - 6.50
Morrowind GOTY version - 7.50
SW Bounty Hunter - 7.50
I Ninja PS2 - 7.50
I Ninja Xbox - 7.50
Mark Of Kri - 9.00
you probably could have gotten more on this site for those first three. still, good trade-in prices.

These rang up a penny at 3 different FYEs:
NFL 2K3 - XB
NHL Hitz Pro - XB
NFL Blitz Pro - XB
Tony Hawk 2X - XB
If anyone wants them I still got em :)

Stuff like that is what I don't understand about FYE. Blitz Pro was getting $17 and they were selling it for $33.99 used. So instead of lowering the used price to say $14.99 and lowering the trade in value to $6 or $8.50, they decide to drop it to a penny? Oh well.
Even Spun.com has Hitz Pro listed at $8 trade in, so a penny for that doesn't make sense either. (and NFL 2K3 for $1 and THPS 2X for $2.50)

A question..what exactly IS the fye exploit?
There isn't one really. They just offer obscenely high amount of credit for certain titles.

you cant Use Store credit to buy gift cards???
I have like 300 + on FYE and they never get anything in on video games. so i went in and said can i put this on a gift card. SAID NOPE we will not put your store credit on a gift card.
I thought people said you could or is it just depends on store.
What sucks is they dont carry any systems
using store credit to buy gift cards is definitely ymmv. the first time i asked to convert my store credit to a gift card, i was denied. the second time i tried, they did it with no hesitation. technically, they can do it. it all depends if you get a lazy jerk or not

Yeah the general idea I get from them, is that they arent supposed to do (I think management tells them not too) but some employees are cool about it or dont know what they're doing

Yeah my usual excuse is that if I leave the reciept in my walet the heat transefer paper gets erased (which actually happens, If anyones new to this I recommend not keeping the slips in youor walet )

WOW, THAT WAS HAPPENING TO MY RECEIPT AS WELL! i was really pissed when they denied me the first time b/c i showed them the receipt, and pointed out the fact that the barcode was gradually disappearing. the manager didn't care and it made me feel like he was hoping it would completely erase! i almost contacted the regional manager to see if he/she could help me out, but decided against it. luckily, the next employee/manager wasn't so anal.

I never leave the credit slips in my wallet because of that. I have them in my room in a empty DVD case and when I know I am going to the mall I just take some of the slips with me. It is annoying they put them on that type of paper since even leaving them in my wallet for a few hours seems to mess them up by having them rip or get scratched (marks on the paper).

Pro Race Driver is a strange one, at least, it has been for me. When I brought it in to trade, the manager told me, at first, that it was going to come up to be 5 dollars. And then, after a bit more typing, she was surprised to say that it would garner the 26 or so dollars that it's reportedly worth. I think it has something to do with the process they use to figure out the price of the game, but I know for sure that one FYE I went to was dead set on the 5 dollar trade in price. Who knows for sure.

So a while back, like in early January, my FYE said i couldn't trade in games because they were getting their computers that wouldn't accept credit or trade ins until February. So, yesterday, i called them to check that they had everything fixed.. The guy on the phone told, " yeah, you can trade in your xbox and ps2 games." Today, i go to FYE and some young high school kid tells me they don't acceept trade ins anymore, but he seemed a little weird, almost as though he was lying. Maybe it was me. So, the next time i go to FYE i'll try to find a manager or someone because there apparently wasn't one around when i was there...

Thats not so strange. A FEW FYE's got new computers and the thing is they can accept some trade ins on newer games but none of the oldergames prettyt much anything 2 months or older is in their system. The manager was the one that rang me up and I'm positive he wasn't BS'ing me

I didn't have problems with games today but the manager told me the computer's crashed recently so they lost stored info in the computers. I'm not sure if it was just that store or not, but he asked me for ID even though he knows I am always in there trading in games because he said the computer doesn't have anyone's information stored because of the crash

Quick noobtastic question--would there be anything preventing me from trading in a game that i got from the microsfot retail site? do they punch the barcode or anything? there's nothing I really want, but some of them fetch a decent amount at FYE

^^ no idea. If you have the game, you should be able to see if the barcode is punched obviously...and FYE might not even care, who knows.

If its an issue you can always print out a copy of an unpunched barcode and replace it

does fye take games with no instructions?
YoshiFan1
02-06-2005, 11:30 AM
YMMV on that, they are supposed to have instructions but you may get a manager that doesn't care. I have traded in games before where the manager doesn't even open the case to check for a manual or inspect the condition of the disc (not that it mattered anyway since I had the manuals and the discs were fine)

okay. so if i had a slip for $26, and used it to get a 2 dollar item, they will give me $8 back? or i take the option of them printing up an entirely new credit slip for the remaining $24 of store credit love. i guess when i picked up RE4 for $50 a month back and I had 2 $26 slips, they just said whatever and gave me the remaining $2 left in cash since it was such a small amount. alright. thank you for your help.

I believe if there's five dollars or less you'll get the money back. Some people don't care, but the ones that aren't stupid won't give you money.
The cash credit they give back isn't that bad though..25 percent off is ok. It just sucks because that takes a nice cut off the profit.

yeah. i kinda feel like a tool for concentrating on profit, but you need to to find the cheapest path to the psp. with some games at $35 (according to the people at EB), its best to buy a top dollar trade in at FYE and trade it at EB. the only thing that sucks is you cant play it for too long before you trade it due to it going down in trade price fairly soon.

It probably depends on the store. I have never seen a DS systems at a FYE store, except when I went to get my pre-order and that was the only store that ever had the system and I think it will be the same with the PSP. I haven't even seen any PSP Pre-order signs up at FYE like I did with the DS.

man, if fye had the psp i'd be in good spirits. i doubt they will get it. i asked my local flunky at FYE and he never heard of a PSP. i am not hopeful. if they did, they would have advertised preorders, once again, fye proves to be the worst store on earth (and i have several hundre
