MAY 13th update, a few stores are now taking preorders. Please post your finds so we can compile a list and see which store is the cheapass way with the least amount of money up front.
:bouncy:
Any place takin preorders yet?
I'd hate to have to sleep outside for this like i did for the PS2 I wanna get my preorder in as early as possible.
I've only bought 2 systems on release day and this will make #3. Other 2 were PS2 and DS. (DS i've since sold)

I've never preordered a system before, but I might for the Xbox 2. I occasionaly ask Gamerush if they have an Xbox 2 system or any Xbox 2 games in their system every once in a while, but no luck so far. I would love to use their 2 for 29.99 deal on some Xbox 2 titles.

I haven't seen of anyone preordering it yet. I'm on a list to notified by my local EB when they can start taking them though.

no intention of even considering such silliness until backwards compatibility is confirmed.
I have way too many existing x1 games to play through, not to mention a bunch of oldschool games on the xbox (sf2, megaman, metal slug, etc etc) that i bought specifically so i could have older games on a single system

Wait till a few more details surface. After E3 we should have an idea of what to expect as far as graphics and performance

No but I'm sure after E3 EB and GS will allow pre-orders.
I'm just wondering if I could score some "cheap ass" overnight or 2nd day shipping on the system ;) Don't know if I wanna wait in line at EB,GS or Wal-Mart at midnight this year.

my guess is that microsoft is not going to require you to drop your xbox off a five-story building as a pre-condition to purchase the xbox 360

Yeah, I'm definitely willing to pre-order my first system when the option becomes available for the Xbox 360.

i hope that gamerush starts to preorder them when everyone else starts to as well cuz all that burning credit has to be used.

Agreed....this is why I keep my credit up. I haven't really got too many new games either....just credit. Although, I do have about 6 pre-orders:)

I might preorder the Xbox 2. I havn't decided yet.
I don't think I am going to preorder Xbox 360...
(Pretty sure Revolution will be preordered, and maybe PS3...)

revolution is a definete for me, because they are the kings of 1st party titles
XBOX360 has a pretty good chance, since im loving its shipping titles, and theres going to be a big order to fill then, also backwards compatibility
PS3 it all depends on how revolutionary it is, and whether its backwards compatible, and if its gonna have some good 1st party titles

Systems in the past I've pre-ordered were N64, Dreamcast, and PS2. I actually put down the full amount for the PS2, 11 months before it's release date. For Xbox and GameCube I waited in line the morning of the respective systems's release date.
If EB/GameStop forces their customers to purchase X360 as part of a bundle, then I'll have to wait in line at Best Buy or Target rather than pre-order.

But why buy an XBOX 360 if you are only going to buy the system with nothing else? If the system does not include a harddrive (which counts as a big memory card), I am going to want a memory card to save my games. Of course not to mention I will want to play a new game on the system whether it is Madden Next Gen, Perfect Dark Zero, or Oblivion.
So if a bundle is being offered for the system, memory card, and a game I don't see what the problem is. Even if you plan on trading it away it will still field significant value.

I'm pretty sure the CAG nixts has pre-ordered one at EB. I remember something about it back when the EB/TRU trade in deals were going on.

You don't see what the problem is? The problem with bundles is, they don't let you choose what game/s you want. And the accessories. If I buy a bundle with a game I don't want then I'll have to trade it in and then I'll lose up to half of what I spent on day one. As for the accessories, sometimes they include extra controllers/memory cards made by 3rd parties. That's not good.
I don't want to be bothered with all of that, I would rather wait in line at Best Buy.
Why buy an X360, if you're only going to buy the system with nothing else? Well, luckily I'll have the money for the extras, but there are people who can't afford anything beyond the system. They could always rent the games until they have the money to buy. It's easier to buy just the X360 on the day of the launch if that's all someone has the money for and save up for the accessories/games later. It would be incredibly tough for a person to find a newly launched system weeks after it's debut.

Until the details are fully disclosed and various retailers are in a position to compete for orders I cannot see any reason to bother. I don't currently have any credit to use up anywhere except TRU (via my TRU Visa card) and they don't do pre-orders. I'm expecting good things from the system in that I think Microsoft is working hard on infrastructure for developers to exploit rather than dictating to developers what this system is or isn't.
I've bought quite a few consoles at launch but I always end up having just the console and one game for months because I want to examine the machine close up but I don't want to shell out for full priced games beyond that initial item. So I won't be at any great disadvantage if I don't pick up a unit immediately. I'll only be missing out on a little ego-boo from having it before most of the world.

Don't you think most bundles would include a variety of games? Like a sports bundle with Madden, a FPS bundle with Perfect Dark Zero, and a RPG bundle with Oblivion. And if you can't afford any games to go with your system then what is the point of even buying a launch system? You might as well just wait until price drops if you only plan on renting so you can rent from a bigger library.

Same here, can't wait to play this game. Along with PDZ, I'll pick up Project Gotham Racing 3, if it's available at launch. Hopefully PDZ will be as good as I imagine it to be.
