i have the game and i love it, i originally wanted to keep the new copy i got and sell my used one, because i bought it used and it is somewhat beat, but at the moment i need the cash.

I just picked up Lunar 1 and 2. It's an old school styled RPG with the typical RPG cliches, young kid trying to be the hero, a mystical girl, evil wizard etc etc, but the story is pretty good. Lots of humor. I'd say the combat system is the weakest aspect, but there aren't random battles so the combat isn't a big part of the game, atleast how far I am into it.

Do you need the manual for Lunar? If not, I may pick that up. Much better than spending $60 for a complete copy provided the manual isn't a must. Rig? Any input?

Nah, the manual really doesn't tell you anything....
The manual does have lots of interviews talking about the remake of the game, the usual character back ground info, brief list of items and spells. That's about it. The game is simple enough that you don't need it to know how to play. Gamefaqs can help you with anything you need to know anyway.

As it was stated, Lunar's manual is not needed. It is, however, a very cool manual. The story may be cliched, but Lunar was made on the Sega CD; a lot of other RPG's copied Lunar!
