i would just like to say that things like this can be funny, since it isn't hurting anyone. it's not like anyone here will be walking up to this person saying "boy, aren't you a fat little mongoloid? so fat. so retarded. just a fatty-fat dumb-dumb." things only become mean or low or bad or sad or whatever if you are actually hurting someone's feelings. it doesn't mean it's always funny, but it doesn't mean it makes someone less of a human being for thinking it is. people who smell bad disgust me, and i say things to friends/coworkers like "in case you didn't know, that guy smells really bad", but i don't say to the person "hey fella, you smell like feet." it's the same with people who are handicapped. besides, they get the good parking spots, so i think we deserve a little leeway.

That pic in the original post is from the Springer show. Her (yes) mother is quite aware of how fat her kid is, as she kept shoving food into her until she bloated to that size. It's definitely a funny .gif, but it makes me sad to think that maybe she could have been healthy, and won't die before 20, if her mom wasn't such a pile of crap. My mother (start of bad joke) is larger than she probably should be. So was my grandfather. Both have had medical problems and weight problems because of it...but they keep it under control. it's actually in real detroit, which is the only reason to pick up that magazine. sometimes the metro times can have some interesting things (if you ignore the music reviews), but the people at real detroit don't seem to know about anything except what the best "clubs" are to go dancing at.

i live (and work) a little north of detroit, and we carry both at work. it seems like there's a lot of places around that do, but i guess it depends on your area.
