People who seem to hate every game...

Anybody met someone like this? they play games but criticize them the whole time, try to give you buyer's remorse when you pick up new games, they have strong hate for any game or system they don't own, yet...call themselves a gamer?

That's EXACTLY how my asshole roommate is. All he does is play GTA: San Andreas in his room all day and he criticizes almost every game I play. The worst part is when I bring home a quirky Japanese game (like Katamari Damacy or Choro Q for example) and he calls it "stupid Japawon crap". I can't wait to move out in June.......(because I'm going to JAPAN! :D )

I've got a friend that seems to hate anything that he considers overly popular. Like Halo. Or any FPS on a console. The entire GTA line and every Final Fantasy after 6. Although he is totally willing to play the worst of the worst fighting games that I can find.

Nah instead I just have a friend who will tell me how much a game sucks, when I question him how far he got it is usually around 10 percent , or some ridiculous amount of time you could do in one sitting. I used to have a friend who hated every game but I just figured out he was a moron who couldn't figure out how to properly play them and masked it with this game sucks.

It's the Yugioh that gets to me most- that pretty much all she watches these days. Apparently Azumanga Daioh is stupid and *insert every other anime in existence here* is sexist, but Yugioh is quality entertainment. :roll:

My closest friends that play games are pretty much open to different genres, but there is one that doesn't like RPGs. My other best friend and I will try to get him to play them, but he refuses. But he doesn't say he hates them, just doesn't want to try them.

I used to "hate" every game with a Japanese name in it.

I always assumed it would be ridiculously hard, and have some insane storyline that I'd never understand.

Katamari changed that for me. At least the 1st part.

All my friends play video games, most of them more so than I do. We have a weekly, "Why Not Wednesday", where we get some new games down at my one buddy's place, and buy a bottle or two of Wild Turkey and just make a night of it.
