I'm drinking some Silk (soy milk) now. It's pretty good IMO. I also like Gardenburgers, Morningstar Farms, and Boca Burger.
And no I am not a vegetarian I just like trying different foods.

Ewww, Gardenburgers. :puke:
I've never had one, but those things look gross. When they're cooking they're a grayish color. Too weird for me.

I like some gardenburgers. Some of those Boca ones really do taste like crap. I like to experiment with my own veggiburger recipes. Havent hit anything too good yet though. Im not a vegetarian, but I do like veggie cuisine. Silk I have never gotten into though.

Silk has Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. I like them both. They are best when ice cold though.

Gardenburgers are the spawn of the devil. I LOVE Soy Milk and Soy Ice Cream though. Yum yum.

I had some Boca burgers when my roommate and I had a cookout last weekend. My date was a vegetarian and she loved them, but if you are like me and eat meat for awhile they don't taste so great.

I used to eat Boca Burgers for Lent, but since thats over I'm not going to touch that crap until next year. bleh
I also take Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein which has some soy-protein additives, if that counts for anything.

I am vegan, I consume a lot of soy. Sil is one of the best soy milks, I am partial to chocolate, but vanilla is good too. I don't think I have tried plain. Silk Chai is very good on occasion, as is Silk Nog (both are relatively expensive, the Nog is seasonal, I believe).
Tofutti makes the most realistic non-dairy ice creams, non-dairy sour cream (Sour Supreme (TM), very good), and non-dairy cream cheese (Better Than Cream Cheese (TM), better than many of them).
Rice Dream is also a decent ice-cream like dessert. It is not as close to the real thing, but it is pretty good, and it offers greater variety. I think it is probably more like ice-milk, than ice-cream. It is rice-based, though, not soy.
Garden Burgers and Veggie Burgers vary greatly depending on brand and variety. Some are good, some are awful, some aren't even vegetarian, let alone vegan. I haven't had any in a long time, so I can't really render an opinion.
Tofu can be very good in recipes, and there are many different varieties and ways of preparing it. Most people who will not eat tofu have tried it once, at most, and assume it is always the same. It ain't meat though, so don't go in expecting it to be. It is a meat substitute (protein), not a meat imitation.
I use a lot of TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein) in things like spaghetti sauce and chili. Seitan (wheat gluten) can be quite good if done properly, but often can end up being too chewy. The Light Life stuff is pretty good, if you want to just throw something in and run with it. I have never made gluten from scratch, because I am lazy.

i hate veggie food. if anything i could probably be a carnivore, i eat mainly meat. my moms a veggie though, but that doesnrt effect me.
i just dont see the poin. if you want something that tastes like a burger, EAT A BURGER! and dont say you do it for the love of animals. its called the food chain. and so what if its not healthy. we WILL die. might as well enjoy it with some red meat.

Well said.
Not too long ago I took a FREE sample of a veggie burger to check it out and I almost threw up. It is ridiculous how they say you "won't notice the difference."

I agree, just eat what you like to eat, to hell with the animals. I just like the taste of soy milk. I still drink cow milk, but sometimes I like to take a break, ya know?

I like Rice Dream Vanilla a lot...it goes great with cereal. I started to drink rice milk because of lactose intolerance. I can still drink milk or cheese but if I have a TALL glass of just milk I get a belly ache. Soy milk isnt as good to me and Silk is a good brand but please be aware of a few facts.
While vegans love to think that eating soy means they are giving corporations of the world a big middle finger:
Boca Burgers is owned by Kraft Foods, which is owned by Philip Morris.
Hearty & Natural veggie burgers is owned by Sunrich Food Group, which is owned by Stake Technologies, which is owned principally by Gruber & McBain Capital Management, whose principal investors are Boeing, Lockheed Martin and by Polymedica, whose principal investor is Safeco, whose principal investors are ExxonMobil, General Electric, and Citigroup.
Morningstar Farms (Kellogg's) has been contaminated by Starlink GM corn.
Silk Soy Drink is owned by White Wave, which is owned by Dean Foods (5/9/02), whose main shareholders are Microsoft, GE, Philip Morris, Citigroup, Pfizer, ExxonMobil, Coca Cola, Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, Home Depot.
Gardenburger is getting on the corporate gravy train, with 20% of its stock owned (8/02) by such companies as PFIZER, WAL-MART, MICROSOFT, CITIGROUP, AMERICAN EXPRESS, GILETTE, EXXON. Among their brokers is Patman Foods, a major factory farm meatpacker.

Makes you realize that doing the right thing doesnt mean much anymore. Even when you THINK you are supporting some little company you are NOT. Corporations have a piece of everything.

Mcdonalds Burgers are made up of a large soy component. I eat those on occasion.

3 words Morningstar Corn Dogs. They are soooo fucking good. I dont buy that stuff, but a fried of mine does and she brought some over one night, and damn I was surprised. Granted there are only like 8 mini ones in a box so they go fast, but they do taste good.
