I need a second battery for my PSP, but I do not want to spend the cash for it. I can get a PSP for cheap off of ebay. What I am thinking of doing is buy a PSP, take out the battery and then trade it in to GameStop or EB games. Do you think this will work? How much will I get from them for a PSP? Thanks for the help.

i dont think they will want it without a battery pack. and they will definately not give you what you paid for it.
have you looked at sony's site, i thought you could buy a spare, but i might be wrong. if you cant, wait a bit there will be replacement batteries on the market soon enough.

So you are looking to scam a store, right? That may not go over well here.

It's not clear. He might just want to trade in a PSP sans battery pack.

I am not trying to scam anyone. I want to trade in the PSP as used, but just keep the battery pack. If EB or GameStop accepts it, it is not scamming right?

I would have to bet theyll turn it on, make sure it works.
Why not give it a shot? You can report back.

Unless they do not test it when it comes in, they won't take it. How would they sell it to a customer "Well, we have a used PSP with no battery...but you can go online and buy an extra one!"

Where do you think you'll get a PSP for "cheap" off ebay? Best I've seen was $210 shipped, for a Japanese base pack.

You can buy additional batteries for the PSP. I have seen a larger battery that last longer and adds more bulk to the PSP. Check one of the Japanese companies that already have more accessories.

The trade in of a psp would definately have to include a battery pack and AC adapter, but you should also definately just buy an additional battery~ otherwise it's just going to be a waste of money. =P

I would like to know who you killed the battery already?

I think he just wants another one around to switch when the first is drained.
Although I did talk to a guy who said his battery wouldn't charge at all and the only time he's been playing it since he got it is when it's plugged in...o.O
I was like, man, I could sell you stuff, but, please, call Sony and get it replaced!

Cheap from ebay or cheap from a friend.

EB's trade in price right now is $170 (credit), but that would be the PSP, Battery, and Power cable.
