alright, i've had my psp for about 2 weeks and i haven't really played it that much and it's in basically perfect shape, only some dust on the screen but that doesn't really matter...okay, i noticed 3 stuck pixels and a bubble under my screen and then sometimes my sound starts to mess up like the speakers are blown even though they sound a minute before...
i called gamerush to see if i could exchange it for another one and they were like "any defects need to be sent in to microsoft" lmao
microsoft, riiiiiiiight
think i should just go in and try and get them to exchange it? i know 3 isn't bad but the bubble is like the size of 4 or more together and it makes the screen in that spot look like stuck pixels and the sound thing is annoying.
if they're not gonna take it for this, what creative story telling should i use? (seriously)

LOL. Microsoft. They definitely are taking you seriously and not blowing you off.
Good luck exchanging it. I don't know about GR's exchange policy, but two weeks may be beyond their limit.
If you can't return it there, try buying a warranty from CompUSA.

OMG.. Sony.. has flop this launch.. I had to exchange my PSP twice before I found 1 with no dead pixel....
So i'm on my 3rd one, I notice that my right shoulder button is sticking sometimes during gameplay...
Mang I'm just to lazy to sent this one in....
My brother had a 4 dead pixel when he got his at walmart, exchanged his and got one with 2, then he said Fuck it... and just got his money back...

You do know that dead pixels aren't defects right? Unless there are more than 5 of them they're considered acceptable. There is a 33% success rate for making LCD screens with no dead pixels. That means that out of every 100 LCD screens made, for any purpose including HDTVs, laptops, PSPs, GBAs, and so on, 66 of them have at least one dead pixel. You have probably had dead pixels on everything you've ever bought or used with a color LCD display, and just never noticed til now. Seriouslyyou people need to chill the fuck down.

That would be why I was quoting the kid who exchanged his PSP 3 times, not you. For the bubble, yes, you should exchange it, but exchanging three times to get one with no dead pixels is fucking asinine.

Paying $250 for a defective product is asinine. Sony's charging a premium price, they should give a premium product free of defects. There's nothing wrong with demanding perfection for your money. Accepting a sub-par product would be asinine.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the fail rate of LCDs is quite a significant bit lower than what you stated. Have any facts to back that up? Because I'm pretty sure the rate of failure is 33% or lower, not 66%. If it was so high, then I'm pretty sure Creating a fault-free product is not impossible, as you'd indicate. There's no reason to be cutting Sony slack for fucking up here. And, yes, it is their fuck up.

i dont know any numbers for pixel failure, but i have owned many tft monitors - 2 car monitors, a number of hand helds, 2 laptops, and i have NEVER seen any dead pixels on any of those.

That would be because they're very very tiny.

Did I ever said it was a defect... fucktard...
But if I am goin to buy something new, I expect it to be perfect.
And why the fuck should it bother you if someone wants to exchange there psp in,
Some people can live it, and some can't...

umm...you do realize that a dead or stuck pixel IS a defect right? of course it is a defect. it is not supposed to be stuck the same color or not ever turn on...it is supposed to behave like all the other pixels on the screen. just because sony or some other company says "x number of unlit pixels are acceptable" doesn't mean it isn't a defect, they are just stating their policy is not to replace that particular product....samsung has a no bad pixel policy. they obviously believe that even a single bad pixel is a DEFECT. to say a stuck or dead pixel is not a defect is just asinine. i returned my psp 6 times until the seventh had no bad pixels...if sony doesn't like the six bad ones best buy sends back to them, they should do a little better freakin' quality control

I don't care what manufactures say, but a single dead pixel is a defect. For $250 the PSP's screen shouldn't have a single dead pixel.
My DS has a single dead pixel, and I plan on sending it in to get a new one near the end of the one year warranty (so that I get a new touch screen. My current touch screen already has a few scratches).

I can live with one or two. I went through 7 of them at Best Buy before I found an acceptable one....the current one has 2...unnoticable during movies and gameplay.
I wouldn't worry too much, Sony has come out and said that any dead/stuck pixels that interfere with your enjoyment of the game will get your PSP a replacment....the only worry is what are you getting back?? That's the main reason I won't exchange mine for 2 unnoticable dead pixels. I'm afraid I'll swap it again and get one with 7 or 8 again. I'm gonna deal with it. The thing runs perfectly fine and there are no other problems. My personal opinion of the PSP is that it comes off as being a steal...the thing seems like it should run you $500. As anal as I can be...I think this will be therapeutic in a way.

Try tightning the screws holding the front faceplate...the screws behind the shoulder button that sticks are the ones you want to tighten up a bit, this may fix your sticking shoulder button.

I only had to exchange once and got an almost flawless one..didnt want to try for another. There is a bubble on the top left corner of the screen...very small so I dont care, and no dead pixels, but the UMD door is a little loose...thats it. I even got a crappy Intec screen protector to get on really well with only a few bubbles on the ends. I feel very satisfied.
