Well, I went to the Best Buy closest to me (So. Setauket, Long Island) and they didn't have any copies. I came home and called a bunch of other Best Buys (Patchogue, Bay Shore, Commack, and Huntington Station) and they all said they didn't have any copies. One guy told checked his computer and told me that there is only store out here that has it and that is the Riverhead store for $49.99.

I had also stopped into Gamestop to check out if there were any decent-priced used games I wanted. They had a used copy of Fatal Frame 2 for $44.99. And I didn't see any other games that I wanted.

It was a crappy day for video games for me.

If anyone does manage to pick up several copies, I'm interested in one too...please?

those drops are not YMMV though. They are official drops in price. Batman and Rogue Ops were the last copies, but they were not YMMV as they did not have the stickers they usually do and they had official BB signs with the prices on them

FYI for everyone in the NYC area - I just went to the BB in Chelsea and although they didn't have FF2, they looked in the computer and the only BB in the area that had a copy was in Secaucus, NJ. And only one copy at that.

For what it's worth: The clerk I spoke with today (at the Ft. Lauderdale store) told me his computer showed over 300 copies in their warehouse, but none in any of the area stores. After I told him that the game does not show up on bestbuy.com either, he said it's likely they'll be stocking them in the FL stores throughout the week.

Moral of the story: keep checking!

OK since I REALLY wanted this game I decided to just out right ask when and if they're getting anymore in and the clerk said that they had a bunch that weren't selling then the price dropped they flew off the selves, people keep coming in asking for it. Wasabi, we have too much competition in our area. Not only from CAG, but Paramus gets a buttload of people from other states for all their shopping needs. No sales tax on clothing and a pretty low sales tax (6%) doesn't help either. Its like we are the Cheap Ass Shopping area of the world. I never find any worthwhile deals at the GSP Best Buy. Ever try the Best Buy in the Fashion center on 17 north? By Toys'R'Us and Applebee's. I know last time I checked they didn't have it, but they may now.

Wasabi, we have too much competition in our area. Not only from CAG, but Paramus gets a buttload of people from other states for all their shopping needs. No sales tax on clothing and a pretty low sales tax (6%) doesn't help either. Its like we are the Cheap Ass Shopping area of the world. I never find any worthwhile deals at the GSP Best Buy. Ever try the Best Buy in the Fashion center on 17 north? By Toys'R'Us and Applebee's. I know last time I checked they didn't have it, but they may now.

I know what you mean I stop by the GSP for luch a lot since I work really close and there are days when it's busier then X-mas time. Theoddiest thing was a few class trips to the mall?!

I checked the Fashion centerone and they didn't have anything cheap. I made one last stop on my way home from work and they took down the tab for FF2 so I guess that was a no when the guy said the MAY get one last shipment in.

I was thinking about swingin by either Secacus or the one by Willowbrook, but is GSP was out of it no way in hell Secacus would have it, and it's too late to make itwillowbrook now.

When BB, Target, or CC clearances a game, it means they will no longer be stocking it.

Essentially, it sat on the shelves too long and they want to make room for the next "hit" title. If u look around, there are plenty of copies about, but I imagine, like the first one, it will be increasingly harder to find.

BTW - FF2 was just announced for XBox today, complete with a new first person mode. More Tecmo love for MS.

Wow, thanks for posting this news. Frustrated in trying to find myself a PS2 copy of FF2 cheap, I finally broke down and used some of my store credit at GameCrazy to buy a new copy at full price. I absolutely hate paying full price for games, especially older ones. Now I can return this game today and wait for the beefed-up XBox version. Great news. Thanks again donssword. :)

The XBox version is supposed to have a few extras, and I already have the first one on XBox which supposively semi-rare. Too bad I can't the same for SIlent Hill 3, man that series is gonna look wierd in my collection. SH1 PSOne, SH2 XBox, SH3 PS2, SH4 XBox, SH5 PS3? :P

Attention all Delaware CAGs! As of 1pm today, the Kirkwood Hwy (Wilmington) Best Buy still had two copies of Fatal Frame 2 on the shelves. The Concord Pike store had none though (I picked up the last one there).

It appears that just about ALL of the Best Buys across the country got a shipment of 2 copies over the last week. You just have to make sure you get there right after they put them out.

drone8888, I'm about a half hour away from that store and with the price of gas these days I don't think I'll be heading in that direction again for several days. I'll keep it in mind next time I go by it but I assume it will sell out by tomorrow.

I assume the Dover store doesn't have any in stock? If you don't see any on the shelves ask them to check the computer system to see if any are "on hand." My friend was able to find some in Florida this way because they had them sitting in the back.

Yes I know that, but the casual gamer probably has no idea about it. They probably say "WTF? Why wasn't SH3 on the XBox? Did they just skip to four or something?". I honestly didn't know about SH3 relating to SH1 till I read about it over a month ago. Either way if I have the choice I'm going to support the XBox when I have the chance.

Back on topic, no FF2 copies at my best buy as of four days ago, but I'll check again to see if my store got the rumored copies and then i'll post results.
