I am not kidding. I was in a "ghost mode" or whatever you can do after you die/before you spawn, and I seriously thought it was a render or cgi part.

Unreal Championship 2 apparently owns, but couldn't they have released it at another time? Like say August or July when nothing good comes out, copies aren't exactly flying off shelves around here.

Mafia says even the single player owns. I'm waiting for a price drop or some sort of trade in value, or for him to get online more before I buy it :D

It takes a while to get used to, but man, it's really fun. A lot more original than Halo 2, that's for sure.

What's this difference between this and the Unreal Tournament series? I have barely played any first or thrid person shooters in my lifetime, but I really enjoyed Unreal Tournament on the Dreamcast and I loved the small bit I played of Unreal Tournament 2004 on the PC when it first came out.

And although I'm not sure how easy/difficult it would be to compare the games, what is superior- UC2 or Timesplitters 3?

Sigh... too many interesting games, not enough time or money to play them....

The defining characteristics between the Unreal Championship and Unreal Tournament franchises used to be that UC was just slower, but still had the same core gameplay. With UC2, that all changed. Unreal Championship is now as fast if not faster than UT4 and they've added a lot of new things you can do. Such as:
switching between third and first person, melee weapons, more jumping options, smaller multiplayer combat, and others. Altough, I'm thinking that the next Unreal Tournament will incorporate at least most of these features. I have yet to play TimeSplitters 3, but from the reviews, I would say you're better off going with Unreal Championship 2.

I haven't played multiplayer offline, but the single player is a lot better than it is in the other championships/tournaments. Not a super greast single player, but there is a story and the gameplay is good.

yes the game has great lighting effect... Gameplay is a bit hard to get use to in 3rd person view...

Still Halo 2 online set up is better than this game IMO...

i agree pariah, is on the fence right now, with just a good a chance as falling in the mud, as it does landing the land of good rankings

I agree that the setup for halo 2 online is better, but UC 2's online play is just as good as halo 2's...they are different, yes, but they are both excellent as well :)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

It's not that bad. I actually love it. The third person perspective is ownage for melee, but weak sauce for first person. It takes awhile to get use to switching between 1st and 3rd person view, but once you get a hang of it the game owns. It also has Raiden for fuck's sake. I would say this is the fifth best FPS I've played on the XBox, behind Wolfenstein, Halo 1, Halo 2 and Riddick. Might not be as good as Brothers in Arms but I've yet to try that.

Anyways, this game is about 1000000000000000 times better then the first UC, it puts It to shame.

Go out and buy it now.

Hmm.. third person mode is weak for first person.. must remember that.. haha.

I stick to ONLY third person with either a flak cannon, rocket launcher or shock rifle. I played a deathmatch the other night against six or seven people and won 30-3. I love it.

I picked up the game tonight - a lot different gameplay than what I am used to but I'm willing to give it a try.

I should be able to play after 1PM this Monday - right after my last final is finished.

A lil essay exam on the Third Reich and then it's on to XBL...

Don't buy Psychonauts.. it's one of those games that's so great that doesn't get noticed by many people and will drop like a rock. I'm willing to be it'll be $19.99 by August.

Me and Mafia played a bit last night, it was fun but he constantly got froze during melee combat, is there any mutators to turn that off? Or is just a sign that he's near death and the fatality is a coming?

it's a great game...zewone just likes halo 2 more and is more used to it, that's all :)

Agreed. I respect a well-argued dissenting opinion. What makes Zewone's original post any different from a DenisDFat post? I think UC2 looks and plays amazing. The levels are well-designed and varied. Characters seem balanced. Melee was a great addition. I think UC2 makes standard FPS, even (gasp) Halo 2, seem slow and tired.
