i was at my local kb toys in midlothian VA(chesterfield towne center) and i saw a copy of kakuto chojin for sale, the price tag said 50, but im pretty sure it dropped, since i dont have an xbox, someone else in the richmond area can go get it, that is if they want a game banned for anti christian phrases in the bg of an arena

I know it was recalled for a quote from the Koran (i think that was it anyway), but it was supposedly fixed.

Uh uh. It was pulled from production ("banned" isn't exactly the right word) because it included lines from the Koran.
Indeed, though, the game was such crap that it deserved to be banned on those grounds alone.

Strange since they recalled it. It wasn't anti Christian stuff though (which is good) -- they had something from the muslim book or something that I guess was offensive. Of course, it's not worth buying because the game sucks.

My Walmart has literally 40 copies of it on sale. One entire row is filled with them. $50 though.

i'll probably get flamed for this but I thought Kakuto Chojin was an excellent fighter. Definitely unique, definitely not the norm, definitely not for everyone, but very cool with its multiple stances and fight technicques.

That's your opinion, of course. It might be worth owning just for novelty's sake given the title's limited production run. I understand the graphics aren't too bad either.

I got mine for free. Dude was trading it in at GameCrazy and it wasn't in their system.

it really isn't as bad as everyone says it is, if you are not looking for a namco/tecmo sytle 3d fighter. quite cool IMO, very unique and refreshing.
The game sucks, but collectors might want to buy it.

I saw this at CC last year for $20 or something. I was going to pick it up but didn't for some reason.

"Kakuto Chojin wouldn't make a bad rental, especially if you plan to have a few friends over. But there's no real lasting value to be found here for more than a few sessions. It's not that Kakuto Chojin should have remained a technology demo--it just shouldn't have been released as one in the guise of a fully featured game. "

i'm not saying someone might not enjoy it... but don't pay a lot of money for it
there's no reason to

Penny Arcade said it best:
"We need to recall Kakuto Chojin."
"Why? Because it's the worst game ever made?"

They just used that as an excuse... the real reason was because the game is absolute garbage that makes Superman 64 seem good.

I completely forgot about this game. It really is not anything special. If anything I remember how the price of the game spiked up for a bit and people were trying to get it right after they announced the recall. I bet they just wanted to clear it off the shelves

Just because its cheap doesent make it not rare. I'm not saying its extremely rare or something (you can find one easily if you want to). But the pricing doesent exactly make it rare. Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix for PlayStation is rare, but lets say someone sold it for $7. That doesent mean that its common all of a sudden...
Scorch did get Marvel vs Capcom 2 for $5 after all

I saw this at a Boscov's the other day. Still $50.

Ebay is usually a good indication. You won't find MVC2 or Disney mix for that cheap on ebay.

Well regardless of what ya'll say I know quite a good fighting game person who enjoys it and I quite trust his opinion regardless of what's been said here.
I will be honest if you want some BAD or perhaps dull games, get Nightcaster or CTHD for the XBox. While CTHD is technically solid in the beat em' up sense it's just plain boring. I had to FORCE myself to make it through my first play. Nightcaster has some interesting sets but frankly it's just forgettable and is easily a fairly bland copy of Gauntlet.
