RE2 sucks IMO, it was far too easy compared to most other REs (except for REmake). Works for me considering I'm not gonna buy it.

Just want to add that the Best Buy I was at today had Rogue Ops (Xbox) for $4.99.

Yeah I went to Best Buy today and I picked up Magic Battlegrounds for $14.99 (no GGC) and Batman Sin Tzu for $4.99. AMF Bowling is $9.99 but it got horrible reviews. There were a bunch of other price drops I noticed too, but none I was willing to drop money on.
Oh yeah, I did see Goblin Commander for $9.99 as well, I think that's a great price for a decent game.

CC, BB, COmpusa, KMart.... The last two months have seen some crazy clearances. I guess the stores are trying to clear inventory as best they can.
By the way, how is Codename veronica? Is that one of those gun games?

No, it's the same engine as earlier Resident Evil titles.
[edit: ah. The resident evil series uses third-person perspectives with fixed cameras for each room (classically introduced in Alone In the Dark and adhered to faithfully for many survival horror titles.) Up on your d-pad or analog stick moves your char forward (in the direction he is facing, etc,) with your character in full view on the screen. Typical action/adventure format: puzzles, real-time combat, multiple weapons and inventory items. ...and of course, spooky themes.]

I've never played RE before, so I have no idea what it's like. I thought it was a shooter against zombies and stuff. Something like House of the Dead.

that is RE:Dead Aim. RE games are... unique, either you love them or hate them, i personally love them.

Only Dead Aim and Survivor (and Gun Survivor 2, but that only released in Europe and Japan) are gun games.

Fear Effect has similar gameplay, except it isn't really horror. Fatal Frame also, if you don't count the asinine battle system.

For that comparison, I would like to add that Resident Evil makes more use of cheap scares, shootouts, and lavish backdrops. Silent Hill relies more upon macabre settings and dim, nightmare-ish surroundings to make you feel like you're a-gonna die.

I'm not a console gamer, I'm a PC Gamer. So I'm not familar with most console titles. I'll read some reviews for it. Then figure out if I want it.

Agreed. Resident Evil can make me jump and have me worry about my dwindling ammo supply. Silent Hill actually gives me the heebie jeebies. Any number of times during SH3 (which I haven't finished,) I would cuss out the programmers for having come up with such twisted, really disturbing ideas. Those irresponsible baboons.

I never played SH3, but I've played through 1&2 a few times each, and I found it so fun, but I love getting scared. SH4 looks to be just as good so far, the previews for it look sweet.

I had heard about the Crimson's and tried to kill as many as possible in ways to mot make them come back, but they still got me!

If you a pc gamer then you can try out some games from Capcom own site.
http://www.capcom.com/trymedia/
They let you try out some games for a few minutes and see if you like it. The only thing I hate is a timer try out. Resident Evil 3 is a 45 minute trail and SFA2 is 15 minute.

I have Rogue Ops for the PS2. I don't like the movement (she'll only run forward and back. If you want her to run the left or right, you have to change the camera angle but I'm not sure if it's the same thing on the Gamecube version as I am not very familiar yet with Gamecube games). Other than that, it's not a bad game - worth $5.
I paid $9.25 (including shipping) for a used copy on ebay.

I think Rogue ops is definitely worth 5 bucks. Its kind of a poor man's splinter cell, though I haven't played all the way through splinter cell. Overall I thought it was worth the 10 i payed for it.

Can anyone give me a brief rundown on Magic The Gathering: Battlegrounds? I played the demo and wasn't exactly blown away, but then I've played some crappy demos before where the actual game was much better.
Also, has BB dropped the price on Hunter the Reckoning:Redeemer below the $30 it's been at? If that one hits $20, $15 w/ the GGC, it's mine. :)

Got copies of both for $9.99 at Boynton Beach (Dark Cloud 2) and Boca Raton (Arc the Lad). I think I remember seeing them in the Target clearance thread before, but I've never seen them marked down to this level at Best Buy before.
Also saw Crazy Taxi (GC) for $9.99 and the RE:CV $19.99 deal.

DC2 is $10!? Man, i haven't seen a clearence like this since KB!
That is a fantastic price for Dark Cloud 2. I'd recommend that title to most anyone in the general public: it's essentially a dungeon crawl with charming graphics and a good item/stat build-up scheme, with a ton of mini-games thrown in for good measure! A really fun game.

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but I just picked up Voodoo Vince at BB for $10. This was in Springfield, MO, but it was the last copy they had.
is this in-store only?? it's not on their website.

well.. picked MtG:BG up a while back at 25 bucks. It's similar to the demo, but more spells and a rather dead online community, no downloadable content yet and the people who still play it are rather anal.
Hrmm, well I'll never play it online anyway. Is it a good 2-person game offline? Worth $15?

How about Armed & Dangerous Xbox $19.99 ($14.99 after GGC coupon)? Has that been covered already?
