I think they're all pretty nice, my least favorite is Warlock, but Sanctuary is nice, and Containment and Turf own.

Why would someone need 4 different maps of 1 place? This Halo place must be pretty big...

I usually just go w/ the Atlus...

Back on topic....I thought the maps were decent, not sure if they were $6 decent, but decent.

Containment and Santuary seemed nice....Warlock was tiny, a cluster-fuck bascially...and that was with 4 people only. Turf is ok....lots of nooks to hide in

Containment is fast becoming my favorite BTB map. I havent seen a team find a way to completely dominate and shake people yet. its almost like base defense can be left to 2 people with the rest out in the feild. and getting the tank up the right ramp in the base next to the gate is an awesome defensive point especially when the gate raises again its a pain in the ass for them to get up to you.

I'm not much for big team stuff, but containment may actually change that. That map rocks. I agree that Warlock is nuts, but that can occasionally be fun. We played territories there with 10 people last night, and it's insane. CTF is fun there though. I personally think that Turf and Sanctuary are two of the best mid-sized maps they've made. My only complaint about all of the maps is depth. I kept wanting to get to some of the higher points that seem accessible, but aren't. Another level worth of building height on Turf would've kicked major ass.

maybe its just me but Turf should be the same just stretched in all directions. the map wasnt nearly big enough. and I agree that being on the rooftops would have definately improved it.

I think the two free ones are pretty good.

I'll think that the other two are pretty good too, once they're free.

Sanctuary is such a great map. 2 snipers on each side, turret, shotgun, pretty much equal side is this was to be a Team Slayer matchmaking level. The level I was sorta unsure about was Turf. Only one sniper in the level? I can tell you right now, that there are gonna be alot of fighting JUST for that sniper. Containment in my opinion is pretty awesome. A little smaller than I expected, but yeah, it's pretty good. As for Warlock, now THAT'S my kind of level where it's pretty much an all out type of thing.

Gaming industry.

The console gaming industry and the PC gaming industry are two different things. Console games have never really had downloadable content until this generation.

all kidding aside, "anyone" wasn't their target with the release of these maps. the target market was existing halo fans which number in the several millions. they knew that the fans would pay for new content. so we pay a couple of bucks, and they continue to develop and produce new content....hmmmm money for products resulting in continuing effort towards producing products to be sold for money....its the circle of life...i mean capitalism.

Fine... You go right ahead and pay $20 for a couple of maps that took far too long to be produced. I'll go play Half Life 2 which has had, and will have, a strong base of user created content that only costs... ... thats right, nothing.

Okay, you go play Half-Life 2 on your PC that cost $1500 to run it and I'll play Halo 2 on my $150 Xbox.

User Created Content is the key there...this was custom content made by the creator. Timesplitters 3 offers free downloads of user maps, and id like to see a free creator made content download on Half Life 2

I'm not trying to start a flame war. I have all current consoles and some older ones too. I'm just saying if they're going to try and copy the model set down by pc games they should try to improve upon it. Not make it worse.

Xbox live is like paying for admission to a theme park, but then also charging for all the rides.

you're really paying for a service provided by MS. they set up the infrastructure (XBL's gaming network), now they expect subcribers to pay them to play on it and generate revenue. i don't understand how they are double dipping, there are three separate products involved. 1...the xbox. 2...the game. 3...the gaming network. each one has a price tag.

their price point of $50/year or 5.99/month seems to work in the market. in return gamers get a network of gamers with the same setups, virtually the same connection speeds, and no cheating...well no where near the script kiddie crap that pc gamers experience.

so i bought the xbox, the game, and the subscription for $50/year...or $4.16/month...or $.013/day. all in all its not that big a deal, i mean how much does it cost to play EQ or WoW or any other similar game. i know it is free to play battlefield and other such games, but you have to deal with a lot more crap like connection speeds, mods, etc.

i figure $0.13 a day can feed a starving child in Africa, or it can be used for something useful like me XBL subscription.

$30.00 - month of The Matrix Online
$4.15 - month of xbox live service
knowing you still pay less after buying every single content download-priceless

If you weren't trying to start a flame war, then why did you post in this thread??

Clearly you didn't have any comments to make on the new maps, so you just decided to be a dick for some unknown reason.

Umm...i dont think you can, i was refering to the board game. Though i will say that RoN, can be a better form of RISK, and Battle For Middle Earth, would be a RoN form of LOTR RISK...

But ill look into it...

And to be on topic...i like warlock so far, because despite its simple design, it is an asskicker with swords

I bet if socom 2 got new maps, you would cream your pants pay for them, with halo2, every1 is doing the same thing. just not creaming their pants.

BTW, what are PC expansion packs? They are things that you pay 40 friggen bucks for to play new maps and more content, its the same thing for XBL, and unlike expansion packs, XBL content becomes free after a while.

I honestly think Turf is the best map on Halo 2 at the moment. It's just so fun and interesting. There need to be more Earth themed levels

I don't see any new content in Halo 2 besides 4 maps: No improved AI, no extra campaign levels, no new character models, no new weapons, etc. With any good PC expansion (Ex: Diablo 2: LoD) you will get most of, if not all of these, and usually at the $20-30 price point.

Back on topic, I'd say my favorite level would be Warlock, with my least favorite being Containment. I hate vehicles.

My thoughts on the new maps:

Warlock -- obvious rehash of Wizard. I'm surprised no one here mentioned it already. I mean, you all did play the original Halo right? That level was the one we used Rockets for ... mass chaos with 8 players. Anyway, I like the new look of it better than Wizard.

Containment -- Don't really like it. I like the set up, but it's just too small for my tastes; seems like it's cramped.

The other two -- Why should I pay for it when it's going to be free soon anyway? I thought we were all cheap asses. Oh well. I guess some of us more than others.

The complaint is that you are already paying MS so shouldn't the downloads be free. I think the maps should be free downloads and those who do not have a subscription should be able to purchase the maps.

If I pay MS $50 a year for Live I should get all the downloads for free. MS should be providing the downloads as a perk to encourage more people to get Xbox LIVE.

Because most of us have been reading and keeping up with Bungies updates where they told us they were remaking Wizard as Warlock. Its common knowledge thats why no one mentioned it.

No, what you pay 50 dollars a year for is the service. Xbox LIVE is the best way to game online console-wise, hands-down. Broadband only, friends lists, every game being voice-chat enabled, etc. is what you pay for. Bungie gave us two free maps for the casual players. It's not like they're forcing you to buy Turf and Sanctuary. Containment and Warlock count as "perks". And sure, the maps took forever to get here, but again, nobody is forcing you to play Halo 2. I'll gladly cough up $6 measly bucks for the maps right now. I mean shit, you can even wait till June 28th if you want them to be free. Maybe you shouldn't tell MS what they should and shouldn't be doing.

As the consumer, I think it's his job to suggest what he wants the company to do. Any company who doesn't listen to customer opinion in any way shape or form, even Microsoft, will suffer.

i too think that some stuff should be free. For how much was in halo 2, these maps should be free. But I am not saying that charging for extra stuff is bad, i am just saying that for a game that took me about 8 to 9 hours to complete and that only has about 15 mutiplayer maps on it, there should be quite a few free maps before they start charging for them calling them *Extras*

Not only are there two free maps that came out with the two maps that you had to pay for, but those maps will become free eventually! And I can't think of another console shooter that has *only* 15 multiplayer maps. I think Bungie is being mildly generous. I mean, ALL the maps will become free eventually. If your that big of a cheap ass (not a bad thing, I know some are), just wait.

EDIT: Whoa, no HTML, or what?

well, i am saying this becuase the game was soo short. I was expecting a little more. But i guess they are going to be free in June.......i cannot wait that long though.

I guess saying that 15 maps wasnt enough was kinda stupid.......but then again i am stupid!
