Question about N-gage?

Can I just buy and n-gage to play games only or do I have to have a phone contract. I already have some cheap games from EB and was thinking about buying the N-gage QD, but I don't want a phone contract.

Thanks I was wondering the same thing I have one of the new pre-paid $99 n-gage comeing from gamestop I was hopeing that I don't have to put money in it to play the games I bought

Received my $99 N-Gage from Gamestop it is a pre-paid version from cingular, using the sim card that came with it I can play games which is all I want it for because of my company phone which is unlimited I can talk as much as I want and my company does not care, but the n-gage is fun to have in my briefcase if a client is late to a appointment plus I love first person shooters and the n-gage has about four real good ones. Dam you $1.99 n-gage games from EBgames

It comes with a "dummy" card that allows your to play without haveing service. I have a qd and its awesome
