its called web browser 2.0
its a cd that you can get on ebay less then $1
you can go to dcemulation.com and get a free isp so that you dont have to pay.
thateres also a broadband version which is the 3.0 one but you need to buy a broadband adapter and they are expensive.
but dc online still works, but the games dont

But some sites can't be accessed. It doesn't run any Java or Flash, so most sites will look bare.

im confused.... what would i run it off of without the broadband adapter, dialup? would roadrunner be my isp? and would it run off CAG or EB? if so im set:-D
I still access the Internet via my DC sometimes. (Thanks to the guys at www.dreamcastersrealm.com ;) ) I went online to grab some saves (like the extra Samba de Amigo songs...)

PSO is not online any more for the DC. Servers where shut down a year ago. Though some people do host there own servers for it, but you won't run across them by tring to get online like normal for PSO DC.

I remember my DC web browser. It was a pain in the ass to set up, and I had to run a super long phone cable underneath rugs and carpet, from the kitchen to my room in order to play games. Ahhh, how I miss the Dreamcast glory days...

ok op youre really not following what has been posted by the same user a few times... you go to dcemulation and find an ip for a certain isp through them thats free than you can view webpages for free. The only thing you do is plug your dc into a phone outlet.

yeah you can surf the net on a DC. Get a keyboard & Mouse since using the controller is a pain in the ass to do.

I would find that the browser would stop working after awhile though. Then I would have to restart my DC.

Don't forget about XDP: http://www.psilocybindreams.com
I used to use this all the time for when I went on vacation. If you're seriously planning on using your Dreamcast as a web browser, you need a keyboard (unless your idea of a good time is using an on-screen keyboard).

I believe they are updating the latest browser and have taken down the download link. At least that was what it was like last month.

Nope, the download links are all there on the download page right now. I guess they finished updating.

You can use AIM with it. However, you have to use it through IRC.

Although you may have a bad computer, the DC for web browsing more than likely isn't much better. Any time, effort, and money would be better spent upgrading/buying a new computer. Back in the day, when my family used the computer and I couldn't use the net, i'd use my DC, but it just wasn't good. The resolution was so bad, it made it hard to read web pages.

wow..picking up a 40 dollar (thats the usual price for keyboard/mouse + DC) maybe a good investment for cheap internet when i leave.. will CAG (and other message boards) work alright? since they don't really have much graphic intenese stuff anyway.

I can't believe those DC broadband adapters still go for $100+ on eBay. I remember selling them for $200 each when PSO came out because they were hard to find at the time. Too bad I didn't save one for myself.

Meh, PSO isn't that hard to redirect to the new server. Just a few cheat device codes (no Gameshark for V2) and that's it. Alternatively, you can redirect without a cheat device if you have a BBA.
Also, PSO is still technically up-- they took down the American servers and that's it. Unfortunately, it is impossible to redirect an American copy to the European or Japanese servers-- something to do with the check of serial numbers whenever you go to a server.
So, you can import a PAL or Japanse version of PSO V2-- people insist it's the best place to play PSO. They seems to be less morons on the official DC servers then GC and Xbox, at least.
Also playable on the DC is Starlancer, 4X4 Evolution, PBA Tour Bowling 2001 (unreleased game, you can download an ISO of it) Ferrari F355 (Not really on a server... but you can race each other) Sega Swirl (through Email) and Quake III Arena. I of course know too much, but got my information from Onlineconsoles.com A great site.
