Had to go out last night after work so didn't get a chance to do the boxes although everyone can get the raw scans off Schenley's site anyway so.....
Also Snackbar is still down when it comes to posting the uploaded covers although they are updating news.......

LOL. Snowcone just put a snippet up on Snackbar how the Covers are so popular with news sites and Ars Tech has just done an article on it.
So SMMM just asked when the N64 section would be updated.
Hehe......who knows. You guys may be able to download my covers soon :D
Yeah, I found that hilarious for some reason.

Anyone here got a game called Rakuga kids?. Looks like a cartoony fighting game
KaiserWAVE
01-11-2006, 09:06 AM
It really IS a cartoony fighting game :) Overall it plays almost like Street Fighter, 3 buttons for kick, and 3 for punches, it's got cahincombos, super-moves and everything you would expect from a game like that. The graphics are really great, so is the sound. The game itself is fun but still average. I like it though. If you find it for $10, get it, it's worth it. I got it off ebay for 14 euros which is like $16 and I didn't regret it. It's pretty rare in Europe
Never heard of it. Guessing it's an import?

I can print the inserts for you. Here are the details that I posted earlier in this thread:
If anyone is interested in having the box art inserts that are available for download printed out but don't have the resources to do it I'm offering a print service at a cost of $0.35 per insert plus a small S&H fee. I can print them out on a thin, glossy cardstock that will hold up better than paper. The printer I use is a high end commercial grade color laser that's as big as a washing machine, no kidding, and it does an incredible job. The only thing I ask is that you order a minimum of two inserts because the sheets I use are 12" x 18" and this will help prevent wasting the cardstock. I've already printed a sample using Super Mario RPG Legend Of The Seven Stars and it turned out great.

I picked a brand new PAL copy up at auction for $10.00AUS [ about $7.00US ]
Never even heard of it before and I've been into N64 since it came out. New Zealand distributors stopped importing N64 a couple of years before everyone else stopped so I guess thats why I never saw it.
Good thing is..... it's brand new in the box so I have another box to scan :D
Just wondered if anyone had cart only and needed the boxart converted?
Cheers.

No worries. I'm a sucker for the cause eh!!
I'll have Nintendo on my back next me giving cease and desist letters :D
Actually .... I'm really surprised they haven't put Snackbar under the hammer as they are the worst company for protecting their products no matter how old they are. Still... I think I read they had toned it down and concentrated on the likes of Bung and Liksang etc....eg....where the real money is.
However, that may change when Revolution appears as they'll be making the complete back catalog available for it......NES, SNes and N64. So they may get back on the pursuit of Rom / manual / artwork sites again..........
Snowcone contacted Nintendo to see if they would supply cover artwork for GBA, but they said no. So, they definently know stuff like this is going on. I don't think they mind, though. They're probably making a fortune off those DS cases thanks to Snackbar.

I feel a bit odd about people buying boxes just for this project. I mean, if they really want to then it's cool, but the basis of this project is mostly about volunteer time and effort rather than $$.
There are people out there with these boxes - we just need to somehow find them and convince them to scan the boxes in so we can Photoshop covers.

I must admit I've been buying boxed games to replace loose carts but have been concentrating on ones where there are no covers on Snackbar. Thats why I still haven't got big games like Yoshi, Banjo Tooie, Paper Mario which are some of the best N64 games out there.
Problem is....the cost of boxed games is much higher generally than loose carts so I'm not making enough money on selling the carts to completely cover the boxed purchases.
The ones for sale in the previous post I'd normally make an offer on so I dont have to pass off unboxed carts but the PayPal + Visa's taken a hammering lately. I think I've spent something in the order of $600 and jumped my N64 collection from 12 unboxed games to 5 boxed N64's and 50 odd boxed games & another 15 unboxed carts.

Well, I ordered cases and used these awesome covers so I think it is my time to contribute. I posted these N64 box scans up before, but it was lost on that server some time ago. So, this time, I am hosting it on my online storage. I have photoshop, but I do not have the time (school) or the skills needed to create the covers. These scans are taking a bunch of space on my storage (I only have 25mb), so once covers are created for that game, the original scans will be removed and replaced with another one. PLEASE ONLY CLICK THESE LINKS IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO USE THESE SCANS TO CREATE COVERS (as I am not sure how much bandwidth I am allocated). I will post a message before I remove the scans, but they should be up for a good month or so. After I finish my n64 boxes, I have tons of GB color and GBA boxes to scan. I tried imageshack but for some reason it wasn't working.
All boxes are NTSC (USA) and the original 1st Edition (I.E. no player's choice).
Included are all sides, top, bottom, front, and back
Donald Duck: Goin Quackers! (https://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40//N64/4tygamesDonaldDuck.jpg)

I've made these scans a l-o-n-g time ago, last October I think. Right now I do not have the time to go and rescan these game boxes. Also, it depends on what kind of printer you use. 300 dpi looks amazing when I'm printing the inserts out compared to 200 dpi, so I'm going to be sticking with 300 dpi.
I found a place: yourfilelink.com free 50 mb of web storage, so I have been uploading game box scans on there.
Also, I have Wave Race (http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=4641)1st edition uploaded.
Beetle Adventure Racing (http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=4644)
XG2 (http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=4652) (Extreme-G 2) Game Box scan is now up.

I pointed this out on the SNES game cover project thread and I thought I would do the same for this one. The 300 dpi resolution for these scans is overkill. A 200 dpi resolution works perfectly and also decreases the file size. I recently made some inserts using the image files found on Snack Bar and I actually decreased the resolution from 300 dpi to 200 dpi for better image quality on the print outs. I know that may sound crazy but believe me, it works. Also, if your scanner software has a "descreen" option this should definitely be used.

I'm not suggesting that people go back and make new scans of what they've already done. All I'm saying is that 200 dpi works very well with these images and also helps to better utilize storage space for those who are concerned about losing it to large file sizes.

ROFL. I wouldn't have bothered. I've done a truckload of posts too lately ..... every time I put a picture up so people would know what's been upped to Slackbar ..... er .... slip of the finger there ..... Snackbar ;)
Maybe I should get a slap on the wrists too !!
At least you put some boxscans up.....although it would have been better to seperate the images just a little....couple have a little overlap which means I had to trim them down really close to the titles etc.... sorry about that. I know this sounds weird, but I cut up my n64 and gameboy boxes a few years back because I do not have the space to store them. I like the artwork so I decided to keep them. I taped the entire box together and I keep them in a notebook. So I layed the entire box/page in the scanner. The only box that is still intact is Crusin USA and I won that game last summer.
Also, I received an email from Snowcone. He is currently getting settled with his new job. He told me that he will make a major update as soon as possible under his circumstances.

Nope, the media shelving cases only hold game cartridges (SNES/Genesis/N64). The media shelving cases do not hold CDs.
By the way, I updated the list. Great job TheValeman on the covers! Sorry you had such a hard time with the Donald Duck and Top Gear Rally. I was wondering if you could still do the Beetle Adventure Racing cover or the NTSC version of Top Gear Overdrive :). I made the NTSC 1st edition of Wave Race cover. That Top Gear Overdrive Cover looks too hard for me to attempt, sorry, my skills are not that advanced in photoshop.

I don't know, those on ebay, just did not look like the mediashelving case that I own. (I only own one, I bought it off of ebay with Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, thats how I discovered this thread.) The mediashelving case does not contain a center hole to hold the cd with. I didn't bother with TopGear Overdrive as I'd already scanned my PAL box in and created one which coming off my intact mint box would be more accurate, eg, no editing required. Same for Wave Race. I scanned my spine in and used Gamescanners front/back to complete the existing box on Snack-bar.
I missed Beetle Racing somehow....... I'll look into it 8-)

I have been trying to get some outreach on this project and I found someone interested that has tons of game boxes that we do not have yet. He has a website of all of his game boxes (http://www.people.virginia.edu/%7Elc7v/Other/Boxes/) (poor image quality). Currently he is in college, but he said that once he goes home on a break, he will make scans of the sides of his game boxes.

Interesting ...... with Treasure now defunct / bankrupted I wonder who owns the rights to the old games? And whether Nintendo could get any development done to get it converted to english?
The Revolution throws a whole heap of issues up as to exactly how much they can make available and what 3rd party dev's will come onboard. Most games wil need some work done on them from what read .....
Treasure's bankrupt? I thought they just made the Bleach game for the DS.

Treasure's bankrupt? I thought they just made the Bleach game for the DS.
I read somewhere that they had laid off all staff etc etc due to games not being taken by the big Companies. They did say they were finishing off a couple of projects.
Thing is..... if all the staff that created the older games are gone ..... is there adequate resource to ensure the game is runnable under Revolution emulation?
Especially where Big N said some work may be needed......
Then again .... I could be getting Companies mixed up too .... was a while ago.

Actually I think they are designed to fit both ways. You might want to put an entire jewel case in there if you were a mom and pop rental place - the big plastic case would help protect the little jewel case..

No worries. Where there is a major issue I try and clear them up. I don't always look at the little issues like occasional dots etc as I dont have the mediashelving boxes so I tend to leave them to people to do themselves. Some people are more picky than others so it makes sense to have them do the picture finishing to their liking.
I found your scans are like mine, eg, the HP scanner gives a slightly washed out scan colorwise so I apply a brightness adjustement to make them look more natural. As with everything ..... if a user doesn't like it ..... change it :)
To fix the creases I use the cloning tool in PaintShop Pro. I find it isn't as good as Photoshop 6's clone tool but it's a lot easier to use quickly. I probably could've made it slightly better with Photoshop but having to press ALT- click for every clone is tedious compared to left and right mouse clicks.
Mario Golf is presenting a special challenge at present as the shrink wrap join cuts right thru text on the back...... ouch!!!

Well, we are taking the basic scans and making custom covers that fit into certain media cases, which can take quite a bit of work depending on the quality of the box that was scanned (and the quality of the scan itsself).
We have used your scans several times, so thanks! Keep em coming!

For me, the N64 is the system that most needs to make custom covers for loose games, because there is no way to see the game titles when the loose carts are stored...

That and the fact that the Nintendo cardboard boxes are the least resilient packaging ever made for games. What were they thinking? Mind you they've always been different.
They're so much harder to keep in good condition you dont want to actually store games you play regularly in them for fear of wearing them out so Mediashelving end up making a bundle outta you guys :)
Those boxes arrived yet Schenley? Couldn't send me one so I know what I'm missing? ;)

Nope, I haven't received them yet (I'll send another status check email right now)... But, when I do - I'll send some your way for the work you've done here!
Oh, and I think it was this thread that I mentioned building new shelves...
Here they are:

To keep this on topic, you can see my measly boxed N64 collection on the sixth shelf - look for all the purple spines. And, my haphazardly arranged loose N64 carts on the seventh shelf. Some of them have labels on them - I didn't put them on, but I'm not taking them off until I get these boxes done!

 Actually, I kinda rigged it up. If I wanted to move this (even an inch left or right), I'd have to disassemble the whole thing. I screwed the outer vertical pieces right into the joists in the basement. They are held from going left or right by blocks that I screwed to the joists. It's held up just by the outer pieces resting on the floor.
If I ever get around to finishing the basement, I'd have to reassemble the whole thing as well.
I wanted it to be quick, easy, cheap, and functional.

I just traded my Rakuga Kids for Zelda:Ocarina, Lylat Wars and V-Rally99. We dont have a cover for V-Rally so as soon as I get it I'll scan it, clean it if necessary and post it here and on Snack-bar for all. I also have F1 Pole Position and Wipeout64 boxed carts in transit so here's hoping they're in good condition.

Wetrix
Aerofighters Assault
World Driver Championship
Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Automoblili Lamborghini
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Crusin World
Excitebike 64
We have some great covers, but the black covers would also stick out like a sore thumb in my collection too. I have been trying to paste the red n64 bars from my cover onto the black bar cover with not much success. I have been trying to use that guide from Slash but it was made for Paint Shop Pro, when I'm using Photoshop, so if anyone out there can help me, that would be awesome.
EDIT - N64 List (http://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40/n64list.htm) Updated - I have added a simple section down at the bottom of the list for games we have covers for that have not been released in the United States. It is not a list of all the n64 games, but just the ones we have covers for.

I sorta think replacing one colour with another makes them less original. If it's just to make the shelf look good when packed then just make the end red and leave front and backs whatever colour. Everyone's got a different view on this
The maIn issue is that the fronts often have the side bar superimposed over the main picture for a see thru look so if you paste a solid colour sidebar over it you lose the watermarked pic underneath.... yuck!!!
Paintshop's so easy to use for this stuff. Photoshop is more time and labour intensive but it does do a better job for things like cloning if you can stand the 2 handed processes.
I did see Cruisin USA mint the other day so a good price. Amazing that we dont have that on Snack-bar ..... or Cruisin World ..... but do have Exotica which I've never even seen before :)

Exactly. It's also really easy to just replace the red logo part of the spine and not mess with the front or back. Of course, the fact that it's not the same cover as the game we own anyway (PAL vs NTSC) is another issue.

LOL. That's easy to fix. Paste the NTSC wording from another box over the top of the PAL logo. Then as long as you dont read the -EUR on the back you'll be happily thinking it's a real NTSC cover ..... :D
Seriously guys ... I think some people are losing sight of the reason for doing this .... to provide protection for their games carts from dust etc etc.
These aren't original packaging after all so they wont increase the intrinsic $ value of your collection....

I was wondering if you don't have access to any other boxes. Since I live in Germany I don't have access to the Mediashelving boxes either.
So I use these for my N64 and SNES games:
http://www.genius-versand.de/shop/popup_image.php?pID=28401
They were used by video stores. When you rented any video tapes they gave you this clear plastic folder instead of the original box. They have a sleeve where you can insert a cover, they are about the same price as the Mediashelving boxes and you can get them from various sources. The only drawbacks are that the games are loose inside the box because there's nothing to hold them in place and that they have slighty different dimensions (the spine is a bit wider).
So I was wondering, if you guys have trouble to get the boxes for whatever reason this could be an alternative. They are not as nifty as the Mediashelving boxes but they serve the purpose.
IF they are available wherever you live, that is

If you dont want to whack them up yourself I'm more than happy to do it. Just open the boxes fully and then fold them flat so you see the front with one spine and the back with the other and scan them at 300dpi and get them up to a www site than doesn't have a size limit [Imageshack isn't suitable] or email me them and I'll do the rest.
PAL vs NTSC? I dont really care as long as we have a cover for every game. But we're missing a heck of a lot of games so any chance to fill the gaps is great.

N64 List (http://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40/n64list.htm)Updated
TheValeman
02-12-2006, 09:10 PM
In looking at the N64 list I am a tad confused at the overall objective of the operation.
For example...... I have submitted a significant amount of covers of late. Now I ONLY have access to PAL covers being in New Zealand so I have no ability realistically to help out with NTSC covers.
Here's my quandry...... I have used my PAL spines to finish of several NTSC covers where Gamescanner has supplied front and backs ONLY. If you guys are seriously wanting to seperate NTSC and PAL I will have to reassess that method of completing covers. I have done this where my PAL covers have damage in front or rear yet they look identical to gamescanner pic's so I assumed that would be alright.
If this isn't and you guys are anal [ in a good way :) ] about being 100% accurate I'll bow out now.
Personally I would've though it better to have one list of all games and a simple yes to whether we have a cover or not with a qualifier where more than one is available or needs replacing etc etc.
Just food for thought and I'm interested in what everyone here thinks one way or the other.
4tygames
02-12-2006, 10:15 PM
I think originally this thread's main focus was on NTSC covers, because everyone who was creating the covers was from the United States. Now, this thread has worldwide appeal, which is great, so there are now many PAL covers. I do not think it matters that much on whether or not PAL or NTSC covers are created, as long as we have some type of cover for the game, but if someone does offer a game box scan of a different version (for instance, if we have a PAL cover and someone offers a NTSC game box scan and vice versa, a game cover should be created because someone may want a certain version for their game cover.)
The list was originally created with a focus on NTSC covers. I did not create this list, but I have kept it up-to-date. If you would like me to reorganize the list so that it appeals to both NTSC and PAL covers, I would gladly do so.
In all, I think we should continue what we are currently doing, because this will appeal to both crowds. Personally, I will not be using the PAL covers, because they will stick out in a sea of red bars, but thats just me, so do not quit what you are doing TheValeman, because everyone including me appreciates it.
I am currently half way done with putting my games in the new game boxes. I can't believe how awesome these covers have turned out.

4tygames - You need to slide the XG2 cover down a bit. J/K - it looks great.
Valeman - I think the first priority should just be to get a nice-looking cover for every game. However, if we have the opportunity, it would be really nice to get accurate covers for both NTSC and PAL. But again, first priority is to get our shelves looking nice :)

That's how I felt. Thats why I find the whole black vs Red debate a little weird
Considering the covers I did the spine for matched the NTSC front rear anyway I didn't think it would be an issue. I've been buying up mint boxed games left, right and centre at some cost lately to get scans of games for the cause . Then I sell them off again but in most cases I get less for them so it's a loss making excercise this scanning covers game
But I am happy to stop if PAL isn't suitable.
EDIT. Hey Snowcone. Where are you? Lots of covers uploaded to Snack-bar. Do your thing buddy :D

Yep, I think PAL is fine (unless the name is just totally different, and the only one I know of like that is Starfox 64 vs Lylat Wars). The only one I'm missing is Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Vol 1 (got at a garage sale for $1, might have overpaid). I'd take that in any format, cause I don't think too many boxes exist for it :)
And again, just paste the red logo over the black one on the spine if you want your shelf to match - that's what I'd do.

If I may make a suggestion, instead of writing only the games published by Nintendo in bold how about just writing the games we have a cover for (either PAL or NTSC) in bold and leave the others the way they are now. This way it would be easier to see which covers are missing. And I would suggest instead of writing yes/no in the NTSC/PAL covers column just write "X" for yes and "---" for no, I think this would increase the comprehensive view.
But don't take my suggestions as adverse criticism. You're doing a great job and I as well as all the others here appreciate the time and work you've put into this. This was just meant to be a modest proposal :)

The reason I bolded 1080 and Body Harvest was because we have covers for both the NTSC and PAL, not because Nintendo published them, sorry for the confusion.

:) I got my cases today!!
Although, they seem to have been shipped from a different company. It appears that mediashelving.com is buying from The Video Store Shopper (http://www.shopperinc.com), if any of you want to buy from them... It's item # 50-755
Well.....their site says they post Internationally but I sent an email asking for pricing 2 weeks ago to which I haven't received a reply...or even acknowledgement. I'll email again but I suppose they may not want to bother with posting one box of 100 to the edge of the World.
I think I'll bite the bullet and just buy boxed games that I want as they become available. Then I dont have to worry about scanning covers any more. It'll certainly be easier on my wallet as I wont have to buy all those games we dont have covers for like I have been doing recently. I only want another six games for my collection anyway so it makes sense to just concentrate on getting them now.
Realistically that means the last two titles I will be scanning will be Command & Conquer and Destruction Derby 64. IF I manage to get Snowboard Kids 2 boxed I'll upload that as well. All other games I want already have scans on Snack-bar.
EDIT. Here it is....... #64 and 2nd to last contribution from me..... Destruction Derby PAL
http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/3129/destructionderby64small3oz.th.jpg (http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=destructionderby64small3oz.jpg)

Good work there buddy.... but...alas....we really need the full size version 3366x2100 up on Snack-bar. I know what you're going thru making these. But Imageshack sucks as we have to downsize the pic which just lowers the quality way down reprinting at the full size.

The New N64 List (http://home.comcast.net/~tcool40/newn64list.htm) is up and updated.
If you have comments or suggestions, please let me know. The list still needs to be corrected as I keep on finding that not all games released in the US were released around the world (ex. Madden).
Sorry KaiserWAVE, I could not create a list with X and --, the --'s were messing up the functionality of the list.
When there is a game that is in BOLD on the list, we have one cover of that game, either PAL or NTSC. If the game is in BOLD and on the notes it says COMPLETE!, no more work needs to be done on that game.
Percentages are on the top of the list and are up to date.
Enjoy!

Madden NFL 99 IS available in PAL along with Madden 64. Also in PAL is Major League Baseball starring Ken Griffey.
Additionally..... I submitted PAL Mystical Ninja starring Goemon and there is no NTSC cover available so you need to mark that incomplete.
Just observations.
Oh .... and I submitted both PAL and NTSC covers for 007-World and World Cup 98 PAL so you can mark them as complete :-)
Cheers
Oh .... on a side note .... I have a lot of covers for games on the list that have NTSC covers but not PAL ... therefore incomplete. Is there any requirement for these to be scanned just to make them "Complete" ?
If so I can upload a fair heap of covers...just dunno whether the results justify the effort.

Thanks a bunch for the clarification TheValeman. The list (http://home.comcast.net/~tcool40/newn64list.htm) is updated now with the changes.
I was using DigitPress and IGN for PAL release dates, but those are American sites, so its hard to know what was released elsewhere and not. I tried searching Google for a list of all N64 PAL Games, but I could not find one. I think we had Mystical Ninja NTSC version awhile back, but it was lost due to the server crashing, so we do need it again. Sorry about World Cup 98, I confused that game with The Road to World Cup, as they were released within months of each other. Thanks for clarifying Madden for me. I also fixed 007: The World is Not Enough.
The only game I know so far that was not released as PAL was Super Bowling. I fixed all of the other games back from "Not Available" to "No". If someone could go through the list and tell me which games were not released as PAL, it would be much appreciated.
The only way I will label a game of "COMPLETE!" status is if there is both a NTSC cover and PAL cover and no more work needs to be done on that specific game. There are some people who want a specific game version for their cover. That being said, I tried my luck at the Top Gear Overdrive NTSC cover. Its hard stuff to do, so I have to applaud TheValeman for such a great effort. As you can see, there are a lot of rough edges around that I am having trouble smoothing out. I will not upload it to SnackBar yet, but anyone can take a look at it here (http://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40/N64/n64_topgearoverdrive.jpg) (WARING: 6.0 mb) and maybe help me fix it before I send it off.

Your Welcome re Turok.
DK64 ...... Cover #76 ...... I ended up overlaying the PAL sidebar onto the NTSC version as mine box had too many defects. The covers are identical though so it was easy and I replaced the NTSC back with the PAL version due to differences there. All told...looks good and accurate to the original.

I do have 10 cases I bought off PRMega, but I haven't started printing them because I'm making custom cases and I lack the time, but the OOT cover is 99% complete, so in the next few days it will be uploaded to Snackbar.

arrives tomorrow according to the seller. I'll up it asap.
Unfortunately the PAL version differs significantly from the NTSC box so I wont be able the use the spine to finish off the NTSC box, the front and back of which are on Gamescanner's site. Well ...... not without it being unfaithful to the original anyway's.
Over to you guys. The PAL box has black sidebar. So if you want the red NTSC one and are happy to forsake authenticity let me know and I'll add a spine to it.
Cheers

Hey no one answered me yet as to how to obtain some of the cases that are specific for N64 games. These are the cases that have the mem card slot.

Well ....... do you think we'd be making covers for the mediashelving product if better n64 specific cases were easily available? And if they were I'm sure everybody would be talking about them as the current boxes dont have storage clips for manuals etc.....let alone mempaks
Hell...... I dont have access to ANY cart capable cases. Be thankful you're in a country of a gazillion consumers compared to mine with a mere 4 million :)

And how many games actually use the mem card, anyway? Like 5?

ROFL..... so like.... that means I've got a mempak for each game that uses it then. Jeez ..... maybe I need to find a few of those cases too.
Nah ..... I have five controllers so I've got one in each of them. They're all really tight too so just swap-a-controller works for me...No boxes needed
EDIT. Snowcone has now updated Snack-bar so go get the full size covers if you need 'em!!!

BattleTanx - Global Assault PAL
BTW. Game scanner has the front/back NTSC but they differ so I haven't used my spine to finish that one. But ...... if you guys want me to .... more than happy to fulfill a red sidebar request 8-)
What's Cover #80 going to be? Why it's ...... Turok Rage Wars NTSC ........

...... courtesy of my PAL box which is still to come for any black sidebar luvvers out there. I used the spine on my box as they have the same front/backs so it's reasonable to assume the spine will be the same as well
And just to prove it ...... Turok rage Wars PAL ...... luv the black

OK..... I relented and added the PAL spine to the NTSC version of BattleTanx - Global Assault.

http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/9140/aerogauge5iw.th.jpg (http://img124.imageshack.us/my.php?image=aerogauge5iw.jpg)
Yep ..... as promised ..... Aerogauge PAL. Interstingly...this cover had absolutely no title on either spine. Weird or what? So I overlayed the spine on the side flap onto the spine so you know what game it is when sitting on your shelf.
Enjoy!!

Great stuff Snowcone. Thought you'd gone AWOL there for a while :)
All good things come to an end and I've now updated all my PAL scan's apart from a better copy San Francisco Rush to replace the existing one.
I have one more game coming .... sort of a going away present to remember me by .... that being Excite Bike 64 PAL. I'm not sure how good a condition it is in although the EBAY pic of the cover looks promising.
So once they're done you'll get a rest from N64 covers Snowcone .... almost no-one else has uploaded anything since I stumbled upon this forum last December.

Yeah. That is unfortunate. Someone send this man some games so he is motivated to make covers.

I think we should donate money or something like that so that someone from USA gets him some cases, he totally deserves them.

I just got a pretty much brand new, barely used copy of Pokemon Stadium today for $2. So, I'll scan the box, but the box is bigger than the average n64 box because it housed the transfer pak.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys.
The reason I'm letting this go is pure cost.
If I had owned all of those games I scanned prior to coming here it wouldn't be a problem. I don't though. I own some 30 odd games. The rest I won on Auctions through the likes of Ebay etc. The problem is postage costs. Ebay operates out of Australia. Every game I purchase, even for $5 costs another $12-$15 in postage. So I end up paying approx $20 Australian which converts to $24.00NZ. I cant get much more than that reselling for most games which when you add seller fee's equals a loss. If they only cost $5 I could deal with that but they dont. Harder to get games cost significantly more. Battletanx cost $20 on top of postage for instance.
There comes a time when you realise the cause is costing you money.... and that time has come for me. Everyone here knows what I am saying or else you guys would be buying games over there and the list would be diminishing at a rapid pace.
As long as I've managed to make a few people here happy that they now have a cover for one of their fave games I'm happy I spent the money....albeit more than I wanted.
I'll get those last two up as soon as I can. You OK replacing the old AUS SF Rush -Extreme Racing cover Snowcone?
Well, if someone else were to supply raw scans, would you still be willing to make the covers?

Is there somewhere we can set up a repository of ......
http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/5554/007goldeneyepal6kn.th.jpg (http://img160.imageshack.us/my.php?image=007goldeneyepal6kn.jpg)
Yep ..... how many of you .... like me .... have carts purchased from video stores with ripped labels? You can get nice label paper now which with a decent inkjet printer/colour laser can give you an excellent replacement for those dodgy originals.
Gotta be worth a thought right? And if you scan them at 300dpi they should come out the correct size if printed at 300dpi which makes it easy to do. And they're 500k in size so if we cant host somewhere we can imageshack them ... maybe to a global imageshack directory where everyone can upload to..
Any thoughts?

I Love that idea.
I went through the same incident last summer when I bought Aerofighters Assault off of eBay. The seller said the game was in perfect condition. Well, when I got the cartridge, it was wrapped in newspaper and thrown in a brown envelope, the label was ripped and the contacts were in almost unusable condition. I restored the cartridge and replaced the label. I even wrote a how-to guide on how to replace a game label. You can view it here (http://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40/gamelabel.html)
Thankfully someone on the official Nintendo Forum had a copy of that game and was willing to scan the cartridge for me. I have over 40+ games for the n64 so I can easily contribute towards this project.

Excellent little how-to buddy. But what the hang is that label maker contraption and how does it work?
Never seen one over here before so spill the beans :)
How much does it cost....consumable prices etc etc.

Here is the side (http://home.comcast.net/%7Etcool40//N64/scan.jpg) of the box for Pokemon Stadium. The scans on GameScanner.org (Front (http://photos.imageevent.com/gamescans/nintendo64/Pokemon%20Stadium%201%2001.jpg), Back (http://photos.imageevent.com/gamescans/nintendo64/Pokemon%20Stadium%201%2002.jpg)) looked a little bit better than mine. If the fading is an issue on those GameScanner scans, I can rescan my box, but the stickers on my box pulled up a little of the artwork (but it may be easier to fill in).
GameScanner.org also has a complete scan of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (Front, both sides, and back), that has not been made into a cover yet.
The label maker contraption is a Xyron Machine. They are really cheap. Here is the exact one I have (http://joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$sessionid$5W150VAAACPXYP4SY5LRHOR50 LD3UEPO?CATID=82041&PRODID=79541&source=search).
You basically print off what you want to make a sticker through a regular printer. Feed it through the machine, turn the crank and out comes a permanent sticker. Its really easy to use.

Weird question, but does anyone have a template for a PS2 version of this project?
All I really want to do is take one of my PS1 games (Time Crisis) and make a nice case for it so will blend well with the other games in the series on my shelf. So, anyone? :)

I am getting imageshack login created on my walla.com email acct. As soon as I get registered I'll advise the key so everyone here can upload labels to imageshack.
That way anyone can log in and download one as they need it.
Let's hope no-one decides it's fun to delete them.
4tygames ...... feel like adding a line to the n64list re PAL/NTSC labels?
Or maybe another list?
No one else is making comment on whether it's worthwhile ...so hard to gauge what level of interest there is for this ..........
