It's not possible yet, and it's frowned upon around here, I think.

I've seen a video of it. Although it might have just been a video, but there was a menu and stuff and they played Zelda I on it.

I think I read something about some things only working on the first PSPs in Japan.

Yeah, that video turned out to be a fake.
People have hacked some homebrew stuff (very minor) onto the first versoin 1.0 PSPs of Japan, you can read about hte progress in the "hacks and technical jargon" section of the forums of pspforums.com

It would be awesome to play roms on my PSP, it would be a great way to pass the time until better PSP games are released.

That is the GB emulator. It only works (right now) on 1.0 PSPs. These are the 1st Japanese releases. I believe all US PSPs are 1.5. So it will not work on the US versions.

Um, you do realize you can play that on a GBA, right? For like $200 bucks less than the cost of a PSP and a decent-sized memory stick.

....if i remember correctly, the gameboy color emu. only work on v1.0 psp. Also Sony is forcing people to update their psp to the newest version if they want to play the newest game. So we have to wait a long time b4 ppl can hack psp

The guy that made the GB emulator is currently working on a SNES emulator for the PSP. Hopefully he will make one so I can play Donkey Kong Country on my psp instead of SNES.

The instant sony discovers a loop hole that will allow emmulation they will seal it I hope you guys understand this. Sony products are not "homebrew friendly" unless it's sanctioned by sony themselves as in the case of the Yaroze developers program.

If you guys want portable emmulation so bad I'd suggest a GP32 since the Genesis and NES emmulation is near perfect and the Turbografx and SNES are improving. Heck it even has an AVI file viewer.

Where can I get a GP32 for a good price? ^^

For a good price? Good question, Lik-sang was selling them for about 135 at one point but I'm not sure if they still have any in stock. You could try Ebay since I know a lot of people decided to sell their FLU (front lit unit) when the newer BLUs (back lit) came out. GBAX.com might also have some in stock but they sell BLUs only and for 185 minimum, their shipping can also be murder, you might have to email the guy who runs the place to try and negotiate it down a bit.

It depends some game work great and some suck, it depends on how you set the controlls in the config, you can set it so that pressing 2 buttons activates a missing button (Like left shoulder and A = X) or you can use the select to switch the AB into XY on the fly. it's not perfect by any means of course, probably why they pushed the NES/TG16/Sega system emulation more.

...guess I'll be waiting for a DS flash card to come out and I'm sure a SNES emulator will be sure to follow.
