Cheap DVD Player that plays mpg4/avi/DIVX format?

I'm looking for a stand-alone DVD Player that can play .avi, .divx, .mpg4 or whatever for cheap...

I definitely recommend what morpheus listed as well PLUS it's Multi-region once you put in a code. Also it does PAL conversion so you can buy European discs without worrying if it'll play on your TV. Oh yeah and it does Progressive Scan too.

Not to mention that the Philips is also available at Walmart B&M for only $57.86

I have the philips player and it is pretty good, video quality isn't great but it does play divx vcd etc.

Mod an xbox and you can have more freedom in file types though. Not as cheapas the philips but more versatile

Yes, throwing in my hat, that Philips player is great. Nothing better than throwing an entire seasons' worth of TV shows onto one or two DVD+R discs and watching them on your TV. Not only that, like everyone else said, it can easy do the Region-Free and PAL conversion, and it can do DTS, although it isn't advertised on the player. I worried initially, but it still plays DTS just fine.

Have to agree, the DVP-642 is the best value around. Don't pay more than $60.
