First he complains that his game (Area 51) wasn't factory sealed, saying there was white specks on the disc. He calls Gamestop and bitches to them for another copy of the game. Well, it turns out that Area 51 never had any factory seals on it, meaning that his first copy was brand new. Rather than man-ing up to his mistake, he plans to sell the spare copy that he basically stole. Good thing that his fellow CAG'ers have the dignity to pass up on his copy, oh wait... :-( Here's to the wonderful users of CAG. Cheers!

If it wasn't factory sealed in the first place (at all), it's Gamestop's mistake for not catching it and giving him another copy. They should've been aware that it wasn't sealed. I don't see how he's at fault.

Hey, anything that makes you look bad. All in all, CAG is just one huge bitch-fest. I've had a few good trades and met several good people throught his site, but that's about it. It's people like you that give this site a bad reputation. Anyone who says you are in the right for keeping AND selling that extra copy is completely lying through their teeth. You basically stole a game from them.

You really don't understand... Your game WAS NOT USED. It was a PREORDER. The game never reached any stores. It went directly to you, no stops in-between!

we have employees/ex-employees here from video-game stores that have reported about how they're aloud to "rent" games for a little bit before selling them as new...just because you don't know as much as me doesn't give you an excuse to be a jackass

Neither Gamestop nor Trust knew that the game wasn't sealed. Gamestop, the SUPPLIER of these games, sent him a new copy, willingly. Trust, the average consumer, gets a second copy. It's come to light that Area 51 wasn't sealed at all.
As I said, it's Gamestop's fault for not realizing that they weren't sealed. As far as the issue of Trust selling it, GS basically gave him the okay to do it, considering that they said "keep it or throw it away, we don't care". The finger of blame should be pointed at Gamestop. If they asked for the game back, anyone that's talked to Trust would know that Trust would send the game back.. but they didn't. Trust isn't at fault, Gamestop is.
And i'm going to look like a huge tool if i'm getting my names crossed and TSD isn't TrustCompany.
Aw man. No mods on to lock this? What do we pay them for?

He didn't steal the game, it was offered because of a mistake that was made
There was something wrong with the game
There is NO law which says he has to send the game back

I'm not weighing in on the morals here, just pointing out that I think he was saying that you got a game from a warehouse, not a store that would have employees checking the games out. A pre-order wouldn't have time to go to a store, be opened and played, then go back to the warehouse to be shipped.

Why would it be the customer's responsibility to find out if every game should have a sealed sticker on it or not. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be the retailer's job to know what games do and do not have seals?

That's a valid point. If we capitalized on every mistake in the world though, many people would be in the shit hole. How many times have you been given incorrect change at a retail store? If they short-change you, do you go back and ask for the rest of your money? Well, what about the case where they give you too much? Don't you think it is your duty to give them back what is rightfully theirs? I completely understand wanting to get what you paid for, BUT HE DID! Rather than realizing his mistake and giving the game back, he decides to sell it. Not exactly sure how anyone can see this as being the right thing to do.
