I was wondering if anyone had a run down of the games EB Games will take for trade-in's. I tried to trade 4 games for a Fable Pre-Order last month and had to go through hell to get them to take JSRF, I won. Now I'm wanting to do a trade for Halo 2 and was curious if anyone compiled a list of acceptable and unacceptable games. The whole PO and POX deal.

i don't think anyone has a 100% completely accurate list for all EB's, but i would say in MOST (not all, most) cases just use common sense and ask yourself these questions:

1. Can I buy this game at another retail store for under $10 new?
2. Can I buy this game at EB games for under $10 new/used?
3. Was this ever a pack-in game?
4. Is this a sports game?
5. Are there a gajillion copies of this game sitting in the used section at EB games?

if you answer yes to any one of those questions, the odds are it's excluded. but, as with all things, your mileage may vary

the main exclusion list in most cases now are just sports titles. They normally also cut the games that sell new under 20 dollars like the Scorpion King.

I thought I had been keeping up w/ the 4-for-1 deals, since my local guys aren't as strict as most seem to be. But I never saw them doing it for Fable... :?:

the only deals like that I know of at the moment is
5 for 1 Onimusha 3
5 for 1 Zelda: Four Swords GC

Now they are at 5 for 1?! That sucks, especially since those two games are selling for $40.

$8 a game just to break even.

5 for 1 for a $40 game! This is getting way to expensive. Do they take sports titles for 5 for 1? 5 non-sports games and non POX games. Hell I might as well just give them the $40 it would be way cheaper than parting with my $7.48 target deals.

You can still buy 5 $5 games at Best Buy and use them to the trade-ins.
With the extra $5 EB is giving towards trade ins this month though, I'm sure you'll get more than $40 credit.

I have a feeling EB is about to totally redeem themselves with the trade-in promos. I've been hearing rumors they may have the best deal yet starting soon.

If it's following the trend going on, I would guess the next deal will be: trade in 10 games and they rape your mom for a new $40 game.

The exclusion lists are posted on EB's website for GCN, PS2, and XBox. Just go to the "Trade In" banner and then click on the exclsivity lists for whichever system you're looking at trading in for. The lists are quite extensive, yet there really aren't too many surprises.

5 for 1 is way too much for this deal now, unless u really have some games u need to get rid off, this deal is worth it anymore.

I tried three different EBs in trading in $5 BB games, but all were excluded in deals relating to Resident Evil Outbreak, Tenchu (xbox), and any other trade-in promos. The games I tried trading in were: Superman Shadow of Apokolips, Blowout, Freaky Flyers, Total Immersion Racing, and Mace Griffin. What's more, they offered me a trade-in credit of only $9.32 for all of them. :x

With lists that long, you might as well just ebay your games. You can get $50 for 5 games that are not on that list....
