Count me among the Revolutionaries. The thing is going to be amazing.
I may get a PS3 later, but the Xbox360 has no chance with me. Never, never, never.

Won't that make it awfully hard to play the games?

perhaps it only seems that Nintendo was right because yesterdays 360 infomercial was so bad.

Well I mean really, if you looked at the graphics in the games they showed, they weren't THAT much better than anything we have now. PDZ looked like it could easily be on current gen systems.
The driving force between buying a new system used to be graphics. If I had a Genesis and say a Playstation, I would say "Holy Crap, that looks amazing!" PS1 to PS2, "Wow, that looks pretty good!"
This generation, there's nothing graphically stunning. Nintendo IS onto something, in that we can't fully depend on graphics to drive system sales anymore. They're trying to differentiate themeselves via different gameplay options. We'll see if it works, but they're right to pursue a different direction.
I think Nintendo is wising up to what consumers are really wanting by saying they are making a few changes this time around. (More third-party support, regular format, backwards compatibility, wireless, online...). And, they've always stayed around becuase of their hardcore fanboys. ( ;) ) I really think that Nintendo is going to do well with Revolution. I just hope and pray they keep that name; it's a really kick ass console name!

Its a new system, stuff isnt going to be optimized, there isnt a lot of experience working with the hardware. Think about PS2 launch game graphics with where we are now years later, with God of War and the like. Its a pretty big difference. Perhaps late life cycle next gen will be quite impressive indeed, even by todays standards. But I do agree that we are perhaps near a slow down in graphics as a driving force.
The screens for DOA4 look pretty much like DOA:U.
The next jump would be to movie quality, but we're not ready for that yet.
