View Full Version : This is a stupid question but how do you check the wattage on your power supply?

Is there something in the control panel you can check? I ask because the new vid card I am looking at requires a 250 watt supply.

I've never seen a program that tells you how many watts your ps has. Try the bios or open up the case and look on the underside of the ps.

I opened it up and it didn't show anything that I could see. All I know is that there is a 115/230 switch on the back but I think that is just voltage.

It definitely should be on the power supply casing somewhere. That being said I would be majorly surprised if you didn't have at least a 250 watt supply

Well, my PC is kinda old. It's a PIII running Win ME. I'll check it again in a bit. I just unhooked everything and put it back a few minutes ago.

I did check it sort of with this site...

It said I should hav a minimum of 208 currently and when I changed the vid card to the one I am looking at, it was still under 250.
