I have a "Mall credit"...and EB is in the mall......so I went to EB to get a PSP today since that credit has been burnin a hole in my pocket since xmas, and a preorder of an XBOX 360 isn't something I wanted to wait for........so I go there, and they dont have any.... !)(@*$*%%**@!(!...

So now I gotta check back in a few days....which probably means I wont be able to get it for weeks. I even thought if any other stores in the mall sold the thing :)
No luck....

Then I had to resist the temptation to blow that credit on Forza or a stack of used games and so on :) "Resist! RESIST!"....

I went over to a TRU and used the stackable coupon deal to get Need For Speed Rivals for only $30 bucks...I think its time to go back another day and pick up either Tony Hawk or Twisted Metal....maybe even Ridge Racer. It'll finally be nice to have a handheld I can take out on my porch, or sit outside with on my patio and have something to do besides...sit...there.

Wipeout looks amazing but its never really been my kinda game, I'll pick it up when it hits clearance someday......being able to bag some of those games for ~$30.00 is what made me finally want to pick the system up. Sure, I missed out on Spidey 2 on UMD, but I have no use for this device as a movie player.

Is Twisted Metal any good? I mean I know what its like, I just don tknow if its worth $30 bucks....

I don't think hammer-dropping is covered by the warranty.

Why did you sue the stackable coupon?

Is anything covered by the warranty? ;)

..and what impact will E3 have on Sonys pricing structure.....the system isn't 1/2 a year old yet, I wouldn't expect to see a price drop anytime soon...<???>

dont get wipeout, it sucks IMO. Get something like Ridge Racer or Lumines.

I felt THUG2 was a bit awkward, plus the portable natur of the system makes it hard to do some of the more precise movements you need to do to perform some tricks can be a bitch. But I suppose if you're a big fan of TH games it won't matter but then again you probably already have it on the console in which case I'd say dont bother on the PSP.

Lumines has a great addicitve appeal if you like games like tetris and I just saw Smartbomb was released though I havent seen any reviews on it yet but it looks cool. MGA gets a lot of flake for not being an action game but it's definatly a long game, I put atleast 20 hours into beating it and I'm also continuing to play it in order to collect all the cards. Ridgeracer is without a doubt of course the one racing game everyone would go for since wipeout is not for everyone.

I'm not a huge fan of the Tony Hawk games, but I did find them all to be really good fun time-wasters. IE: I'd play for a few days, then put it down, then while bored play it again a month later...get to another level, etc.

Tony Hawk is because its a good fun time-waster...you dont need to be some uber-trick pointmonger to enjoy the game, you can sort of just cruise around the levels trying to accomplish the goals and pulling off tricks at your leisure. A game like that I can get alot of mileage out of.

I'm wary of Twisted Metal because people are saying you can beat the whole thing in like an hour......but really.....I'll have to have it. Driving and Shooting can't be beat.

I already picked up NFS Rivals, I'm looking forward to playing that...and I will probably pick up Ridge Racer for that "super fast" racing experience. I hope EB gets a few systems in this week......now time to pick up a 1gb memory stick and rip Spidey 2 to it :)

Just as a headsup, you can't really play on your porch if it's sunny out---there's glare up the wazoo.

Yeah I think I gotta get one of those cases, something I can use to block ambient light.
I've done my laptop on the porch on a sunny day, so I figure its still doable...just with the whole reduced contrast thing...

The screen is very cool I'd think as long as you're not in direct sunlight you shouldnt have a problem playing on your porch.

There are two must-have games tht I have played and beaten so far, Ridge Racer and Lumines.
