Now that we have some more info on all 3 systems we can have a better idea on what system we are going to get.
My vote goes to PS3. The system, although it doesn't look as great as their other systems, seems to have improved on everything that was lacking before. No more multi-taps (its about time), wireless 1st party controller, hard drive. Plus this big announcement that Hideo Kojima will be writing the script for the 4th Metal Gear Solid was a big seller for me.
I really hope that the revolution has more up its sleeve though. I was really dissapointed with their presentation. It seems they are relying on past successes to sell their new 'revolutionary' console. I think the problem was their system had too much hype. And being so secretive about it has led to many rumors arrising that they couldn't possibly live up to.
If you are getting more than 1 system, choose the one you are more eager about and/or are getting first.

Well after the Xbox Conferences I'm about 90% sure I'll get a Xbox360 at launch. The Games look great, I can't wait to get DoA4. =D So ya the XBox360 will be my first console. But its not my first pick. If all 3 consoles were coming out all at the same time Nintendo Revolution would be my 1st system.
PS3 I don't know when I'll get maybe once the First Final Fantasy game comes out or the first price drop. But I'll get it at some point.

It depends on the price, but I will probably get the 360 at launch.

Well, I'll be getting the 360 first, simply because it launches first. But, I'm still going to buy the PS3 and Rev at launch.

I'll pick up the Xbox 360 at launch, followed by the PS3 in Spring or Summer 2006. The Revolution I'll pick up Holiday 2006. I have a feeling that is when it'll come out.

Its all about the game, If the PS2 could come out on top and be the most under power POS compaired to the Cube and Xbox then the Xbox360 has a chance. It all depends on who has the best and most games.
The Xbox360 Right now has games I want (which is a first, the Xbox didn't have anything I wanted till much later down the road) DoA4 look freaken Great. Lost Odessy looks really good. and Gears of War looks sweet. Need For Speed looks really good. and there is FFXI for the 360. And if that Halo2 Dircetors Cut is real that would be icying on the cake.
The Revolution.. Well It has all of Nintendo's great games. I don't even need to see them to know what I'll be getting.
PS3... Well sadly I haven't seen anything I want yet, But hey E3 is just starting. I got a PS2 sololy for Square games. So most likely I'll be picking a PS3 up as soon as the first Square game comes out.

There's no "the one with the first price drop" option in the poll. I can't imagine most CAGs will want to pay full retail launch prices. Then again, some people simply "have to have it" at launch.

all of them, but only once the next next gen hits and I can get them for Dreamcast prices, as I will have no money for new stuff for like the next four to five years (college comes before games, sadly)

I'll probably end up getting all 3..that is if my wallet and checkbook don't explode! If the x360 and PS3 are $500 a piece, I'll most likely have to wait for price drops. I guess food and lodging is a wee bit over rated though.

Do you really need to be able to play EVERY SINGLE XBOX game that came out?
How many people are going to care if Madden 2002, BMX XXX, or any other old/crappy sports game isn't compatible with their XBox.
I like the idea of limited backwards compatibility, there's a reason why they chose to do it that way. You don't need to have Chicago Enforcer playable on XBox360...
And if you do, then you have serious problems.
Granted, there might be a few games that are shut out that a majority of people like.
It doesn't even matter, just the video of Gears of War, Quake IV and Ghost Recon 3 pretty much has sealed the deal for me on the 360.
Unless the PS3 changes its ugly ass controller, there is no way I am going near it.

why?
I know its not necessary to play ALL games but its nice to have. I don't see why you would want to be limited.
It looks like the vote is pretty even. Should be an interesting next gen. I feel that nintendo might have more up their sleeves so they could even it up even more. I am hoping they have more instore for us this upcoming year.

I'm definitely getting PS3 first. Maybe at launch, unless its over $300. I might get a Revolution eventually, but its not necessary. The only reason I have a GC is because it was free for me. I'm with Sony all the way. But Xbox 360, no way. I hate Xbox, Microsoft should only do PC. Sega needs to come out with a new Dreamcast.
Xbox 360 and if I do get a PS3 it will be after the fixes to the hardware that will breakdown if history repeats its self.
I bought a PS1 @ launch it broke, I bought a PS2 @ launch it broke, Sony fixed it but broke again after 8 months.
Never had a Nintendo system break (nes flashing screen but still plays after 20years). MS I did not buy a system this generation but It will have BC for the games I missed.
Plus I am a FFXI Fanboy. I also am very impressed with live and the future of live.
/was a sony fanboy but was crushed by the cheap components and lack of bringing their 1st party games to the US.
I love my PS2 but not because of the system but the games. Bring on the JRPG's MS :)

If the Revolution offers a cut-throat launch price and Smash Online, I'll fess up and get it and a <gasp> $50 game. Otherwise, they all wait for price drops
Unfortunately, I might not be able to hold out for a PS3 price drop, since, based on the PS2's pricing, it probably won't come for 2 years minimum, and I'm weak when it comes to holding off.

I'm sure PS3 will be quicker to drop in price. PS2 took long to drop because it was the first to come out. It didn't need to drop until its competitors dropped their prices. I can see XBOX using their early release and cheaper technology (non blu-ray) to drop prices early if need be and sony will soon follow.

I'm gonna get a Revolution at launch, unless the controller ends up being some really retarded gimmicky thing. I'll get a PS3 if/when the price is $300. Not planning on getting a 360.

Online has been key for me, so I'll stick with the 360. That and the launch lineup looks like it will satisfy me for a few months before other companies start to pour even more into the 360.. all as long as the console stays at $399 or less with the HD and other premimum items.
Right now I would have to say the PS3 would be my second choice, but I can't see it going for under $600 right now with all the crazy power it has. PS3 will probably still have the most titles avaible, with the 360 placing second just like now. PS3 mainly for the multitude of support, and not just the great graphics factor.
The Revolution looks nice, but after seeing the Cube drop to $99 and the lack of support for the console this year, I think I'm gonna pass till it drops low again (like $150 or less). It's also nice to see Nintendo going online, because imho its what they lacked the most.

Although we have "more information" I still maintain anyone who wants to make a truly educated purchase does not have ENOUGH information. There is still a long way to go before even the 360 is out, and a lot could happen between now and then.
I voted for the 360, but if MS continues to be disappointing like they somewhat have been over the last week, I have no problem going with a PS3 as long as it's not like 500 bucks.
I'd love to see Nintendo get back in it and be more competitive, but I'm not risking my cash on them until they prove they can do it. Their pre E3 conference didn't exactly awe me.
I like the idea of limited backwards compatibility.
I guess there's a first time for everything.
Limited backwards compatibility is almost worse than none at all...then it's a crapshoot with your library. I'd like to know whether I can get rid of my XBox or not instead of a vague "maybe game X will work, maybe it won't." What's "crap" to you might be a favorite to someone else. In my case, I know I'd be pretty annoyed if something like Rocky Legends didn't work on the 360, and I'm sure other people have random oddball favorites who would feel the same way.
I hate Xbox, Microsoft should only do PC.
boy the fanboys sure a hittin this one hard.
Jughead responded to that quote for me. Seriously, the "Microsoft should only do computer stuff" argument went far, far out the window years ago. The XBox is a success. Get over it.
Sega needs to come out with a new Dreamcast.
Why, so they can fail again? I loved the Dreamcast as much as anyone and it's arguably my favorite console ever, but I'd rather not see Sega flop one more time. It's a sad fact, but they don't have the power to wage war with even Nintendo, let alone MS and Sony.

I'm actually surprised to see Revolution on top. I really do want the Rev to be great but I am waiting for more information. This gen I owned a PS2 then later got a GC. The GC is great for multiplayer and a few single player games but for my needs, I don't see it being my only console. That's what I am afraid will happen to the Rev. Only time will tell though.

Revolution sitting out HD Era?
Nintendo confirms it has "no plans" for its next-generation console to support HDTV.
Even before the Xbox 360 was unveiled on May 12, Microsoft made much ado about how the console would support high-delimitation television. In his keynote address at this year's Game Developers Conference in March, Microsoft corporate vice president and chief XNA architect J Allard called the advent of hi-def video the "HD Era." When it (finally) put the 360 on public display, Microsoft revealed that all games for its console would run at a minimum of 720p resolution and be optimized for HD televisions.
When Sony took the wraps off the PlayStation 3 at E3 last month, it said the console could support two HDTVs. The dual-video output could be used to have one HDTV display additional game information--think supersized DS--while the other plays a game. The two outputs can also be used to create a panoramic, 32:9 extra-widescreen image on two HDTVs placed together (much like a dual-monitor display).
But while Sony and Microsoft have jumped onto the high-def video bandwagon with both feet, Nintendo is apparently letting it pass by. Following online reports, Nintendo of America confirmed to GameSpot today that it does not anticipate its next-generation console, the Revolution, to support HDTV. "There currently are no plans for Nintendo Revolution to support high-definition video output," said Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo of America's vice president of marketing and corporate affairs. While promising more Revolution details would be revealed "soon," for the moment, Kaplan would only give a vague reason for her company's decision. "We have thoroughly considered the best means of video output for the system and are dedicated to delivering the best hardware possible to meet the demands of our consumers," she said.

Bad move IMHO.....I don't have a HDTV now but I am planing on buying one soon (6-9 months. I am not sure if I will buy a Revolution now. I love Zelda and Mario but I want HD Zelda and Mario. Hmmm this is sad.

Yea, very sad indeed. I have an HDTV and would prob get a Rev despite that it doesn't support HDTV. Most people won't think it is a big deal right now, but HDTVs are becoming more affordable and consoles will last about 4-5 years. I believe towards the end it will be a big deal.
I also don't like how MS and Sony are forcing HD support. It means games cost more to make and discourages the little low budget titles from being produced.
I am also a little confused on the dual output for the PS3. Does that mean just a secondary screen similar to the DS or could it be used for actual gameplay. Like could I LAN with 1 console and 2 TVs?

I am not sure but I was/still am thinking why?!?!?! Sony is cutting corners on the hdd but it will still have 7 usb, dual output, 3 Ethernet ports, built-in 802.11 wireless and Memory stick reader.
