View Full Version : Now that the new systems are revealed, are you...
Still interested in the current gen stuff? Or is your system on it's way out for the "newer model"? And what about the current crop of games, compared to the next gen?

I already smashed mine with a hammer. If my console does not run with 1.21 gigawatz of power supplied by plutonium stolen from libyan terrorists, I don't want it.
I vow never to play a game in 128 MB AGAIN! Freedom from the shackles of bad graphics! Thank you XBOX 360!

Oh my current systems aren't going anywhere. I am still interested in what they have to offer. If I do get a PS3 I still won't replace my PS2...I mean my FFXI info is there >.>

I think the only one Im motivated to purchase the day it comes out with be Revolution...the others just look like more of the same... I really want to be able to download all my favorite classics!

I never get rid of systems, even if the new ones are all backwards compatible, I collect video games/systems, so they won't go anywhere. And now people will get to legally download at least tyhe first party classics, and without stooping to the level of low-life loser thief.
And I agree with the more-of-the-same thing, as that is precisely why I was not that excited for anything new until I heard about the whole video game Revolution thing by Nintendo.

Ditto. I for one will be preordering the Revolution, a GBA Micro, and (depending on price and launch titles) possibly a PS3.
That is if I'm home from Japan by their respective release dates ;)

I am still interested in my current stuff, and PS3 is what I am most interested in though. DMC4 and Killzone 2 are making me so excited I'm about to have a heart attack, not to mention MGS4.

Of course I am. I've still got roughly a year before things start warming up for the next-gen, and I've got a lot of games to play and games to beat.

How about Animal Crossing online on the Revolution?

I won't be buying a new system until the PS3 drops to at most $200. I have enough PS2 games to last me a couple of years anyway. Hopefully development for the current systems will keep up.

I'm definitely still interested in current games. The only reason my PS2/Cube might be on their way to the closet is because of backwards compatibility. And even then the PS2 might stay out since I have a lot of my games on the HDD.

Well, I hoped GBA development would keep up after DS, and it doesn't look too strong now.

You had to look twice to notice what hardware many games were running on.
Far Cry looked great on Xbox. Top Spin 2 looking like it was running on current generation hardware.

How many topics are we going to have about the same 3 issues:
1. Which next gen system is the best and which will you buy
2. The Revolution ownz all
3. Current Gen Vs. Next Gen
I don't usually mention it, but it seems like there are no other topics that get regularly updated except these, and new ones seem to open up all the time.

You are wrong on both counts, that wasn't thread crapping and this thread is very redundant, even when it was first posted.
Interesting question. For me, I'm still looking forward to playing some new games on my Xbox. I have a couple A titles in my queue and I'm playing Burnout 3 now (frickin awesome game) and just finished SC: Chaos Theory.
Anyway, I just hope good Xbox games continue to come out through late next year. Although I really don't have very high expectations for that.
If I feel like I've played all I want to from the Xbox I'll probably pick up a cheap Gamecube to tide me over while I wait for some price drops on the next gen software. But I doubt I'll actually work through everything I'd want to play on the Xbox.
I'd have to get pretty restless to fork over top dollar for a next gen system and $50+ a pop for a few games. I guess if I figure I can resell the next gen games on eBay for close to what I pay for them I might make the jump earlier.

I felt it was , it was not positive. And as far as redundant that's how you feel that's fine. No one is making you post in this thread. But what did you expect it is the E3 & general game forum. So that's what everyone is posting about. Everyone is geeked because of E3!!!!!!

So I can create duplicate threads about God of War (for instance) as long as they are in the correct forum?
