Problems playin HL2

Anyone else getting a application error "memory cannot be 'read'" when they try and start HL2?

Hrm...I've gotten the random stuttering issue every rare occasion...but never that one. Did you check out www.steampowered.com? I know they have a few suggestions in there knowledge support base & forums.

Yeah, I did everything they suggested and got nothing. I even emailed them my msinfo crap but im still waiting on that. I was just curious if anyone out there knows if theres an easy answer to this problem.

Well, you could always try taking the memory out, blowing on it/the memory slots, and putting it back in.

Since I don't have HL2 I can't suggest anything other than that, though that's fixed a problem I had with my memory before. Though since it's working fine for other things it probably wouldn't help.

I dont think its a physical memory proplem so much as a problem either with steam or the actual game conflicting with something. Im really starting to hate steam with all the crap they put u through.

Yeah... Steam's the only reason I haven't bought HL2. It sounds like a fun game, but then I read all the horror stories about Steam and I just don't wanna do it.
