Is this "Wanderers From Y's"? I really liked this game. How much did you pay for it? Why would you order an SNES game if you weren't sure you would like it?
yea it is Wanderers From Y's. It only cost me a few dolars. I brought it because I think Ys on PS2 is a great game. However the review so far are from average to bad.

i think the price was 3.99 before discounts. i liked it back in the day but it was lame in away. I remember i had it over the 4th of july weekend and rubber band one of the buttons down so the person kept killing monsters and pushing up the stats. i left it on for like 3 hours just to level build . i would buy it but i have no room to bring out my snes anymore

I remember it being pretty fun on a rental, but my memory of it is a bit hazy. I was also really new to the whole RPG thing back then, and had probably only played some NES ones and Lagoon by the point I played Y's.
Lagoon was awesome, if I remember correctly. See if you can grab that one too, if you like Y's at all.

The game itself is very short. Only reason it lasts awhile is because you have to spend ages leveling yourself up so if your into that go for it. I beat it when i was 9 i think. If you want to level up the lazy way like me stand somewhere that a soingle guy spawns that u can kill in 2 hits and tape the attack button down n walk away for an hour lol

KEEP IT!!
Ys is one of my favorite series...it's not for everyone, I guess, but for that price, you owe it to yourself to at least try it.

I've heard nothing but good things from the few people I know who have played it.
My only memory of the game is from when my cousin rented it back when it was released (I was stupid and hadn't discovered how great RPGs were, despite playing every other genre) and I played a boss battle in this Taj Mahal looking building against some big fucking tiger that kept tearing my ass apart.
If you keep the game, fuck that tiger up for me, and tell him Matt Young sent you.

The purple tiger is actually the final boss... I loved the game when I was 6 or 7, but it's very simplistic w/ bad hit detection.

It's a personal favorite of mine, keep it.

Was there another tiger in the game? I don't remember it being purple, although if it was the final boss, that explains the thrashing I took.
Who has a purple tiger as the boss of an RPG? I don't recall the tiger in Ys having communication capabilities or anything of the sort. I'll have to search for story info on GameFAQs to find out how a purple tiger came to power.

I liked the SNES version because the one on the Turbo Duo had such LOOOOONG loadtimes for the voice in it...
