View Full Version : Let's talk about $$$
Ok so how much do you think each new console will cost?
I'm thinking this:
XBOX 360 $299-$349
PS3 $399-$449
Revolution $199-$249
Gameboy Micro $79-$99
Game prices?
I guess anywhere from $30 (REVO) to $70?
I think the PS3 will most likely be the most expensive out of the gate due to the hardware and their Blu-Ray discs. I think this may be the first gen in awhile where I hold off for awhile due to prices though. It's ok though I have enough of a backlog to keep me busy for a LONG time. What are you guys thinking?

I don't see Revo games going for less than $50 at launch. As for PS3 and 360, I say $60 max on the games.

PS3 games will probably be $40 for first party games, and $50 for third party games.
Possibly $60 for EA games.

I'm anticipating all the next gen games to be around $2-$5 once Circuit City has a clearance or computer glitch.

I think the ps3 will be around or higher then $500, and they might price themselves out of the market
IGN has this on the PS3's price : http://ps3.ign.com/articles/615/615745p1.html
$465. Not official (obviously) just the best rumor currently. Pretty much the same as the GS article OzzKev posted.

Hopefully there will be a price war in our favor, with the xbox360 a full 100 dollars less, Sony will have to:
A)Convince millions its worth it
B)Lower their price

I vote for option B!

Why would they make it more expensive in the US than Japan?
The Japanese price was [tentative] announced to be around 50,000 yen, or about $465.
The cost of PS3 might be a better deal than X360 due to Blu-Ray disc function.

How much did PS2 retail for in japan, as opposed to America, its good for comparison purposes

That's what I'm waiting for. I ain't buying any new systems till they are close to 100 bucks or less, but by that time, I'll have more games for them than I know what to do with, all thanks to CAG
