I just had to post this because deep down inside I'm heartbroken :(
So I came across Contra Hard Corps for 2.99 at my local used record store and picked it up. Not having a Genesis I began my search at my local mom and pop store, lo and behold they had a Genesis model 2 in, it was in beatiful shape and the clerk let me upgrade to two 6-buttons for only 2 dollars more! I also eyed a 32x but my better part of me knw that a) the cables needed for the 32x were missing and b)pretty much 99% of 32x games blew chunks... that's another story but anyways I hurried home to get to work. After a great day at work I excitedly rush home and fire up the Genesis, it works the first time! Oh what's that? The controller ports are broke?? NooooooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!111!111!!
This morning I get to the store right as it opens and basically between the two locations they do not have any genesis' in stock, she tells me it's probably a fuse and she will try to get it "repaired" by FRIDAY or if another Genesis comes in I can have it too. Again my better half knows a few things 1) my model 2 was in GREAT shape, so the chances of not getting another model 2 in GREAT shape are pretty freakin slim 2) You don't just "repair" broken controller ports by replacing a fuse... WTF?!!
Sigh, so basically I'm on hold until Friday with no sweet sweet Genesis with very little hope, I pretty much know the inventory of every local gamestore in my vacinity and even called on a few but none have a genesis much less a mint model 2 :(
