Today, E3 finally opened its doors in Los Angelos. Our squad of four (Speed, DoubleD, b|0-0|n and Zwan) had just arrived and were setting up at the media centre, when around 8.45 local time the lights went out. Yes, they actually lost power at E3 and in the surrounding area about 45 minutes ago !!

Everybody had to pack their bags and leave the building immediately, so our crew is standing outside right now, waiting for the power to come back online, which should happen any minute now. Not a good start at all there in LA ...

Cause what good is an Electronic Entertainment Expo without electricity ? :)

E3 2005: Lights Out!
Power is out. E3 is over. Everyone can go home!
by IGN Staff
May 18, 2005 - The show floor is merely one hour from opening, and no one can see it. The lights are out at the LA Convention Center, meaning that the thousands of expectant industry professionals and analysts are left waiting until power is restored.

Although patches of power exist in the building (the IGN room, where this is being written still has juice), the grid is down on West Hall and the media lounge. Sources state that full recovery could take up to six hours. A similar thing happened in 2000, when the convention center lost all Internet access. We'll shed some more light (ahem) on this story as it develops

Oh shit...this suddenly isn't funny any more.

Bill Gates formerly apoligizes for the burning up of his power cords...and the ensuing damage to the outlet, and the fuses...

Probably the case

It's a perfect time to show off all those great portable games coming out! C'mon Reggie, whip out that Micro and everyone gather round.

Wow, pretty embarassing for a major show like this. G4 is doing 2 hour 'Live from E3' recaps every day, and I have them set to Tivo. Today's should be interesting, if they even do it.

I would be so pissed if I was one of those people that had planned a trip for one day and today was that day.

On the second note what if this was all planned and one of the big three has something in store...

Ok not going to happen but I am looking for something to make me say wow during this E3.
