how many of you have had trouble or are having trouble (if you care) getting the stupid price stickers and blockbuster stickers and blah blah blah stickers off of the game boxes when you get the last one on the shelf....or buy a used game??? it used to piss me off a lot, 'cause you could scrape and pick at it all you wanted, but it would still have sticky crap on it.....i found that using Goo Gone ($4 at target, walmart, kmart, etc) gets all of it off with no problem...making the boxes look brand new.....just wondering what other ppl use...or if they even bother with it....

I don't usually buy used games. But I've heard alot of people saying that they use the Goo Gone, and it works wonders.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get those big stickers that rental places put on the discs...they are like those CD labels from the make-your-own label kit if that helps. I didn't want use lighter fluid cuz I was afraid it may damage the disc ...so any advice?

Does goo gone leave a cloudy residue on the plastic?

I'd like to know this too. I have a pretty rare copy of Bubble Bobble for the PSX that I would like to remove a CD sticker from. If I doused that sucker in Goo Gone would it come off?

I just use a wet paper towel, get the initial sticker off with that, then scotch tape for the stubborn stuff. Works great, no chemicals, no money. Works great on both stickers on the box and on the cd.

Not at all. It's as clear as day. And either way, it'll look better than a torn sticker.

Try peanut butter.

Leave it on there for 30 seconds, to a minute. Wipe it off, with something soft.

Reapply, if neccessary.

It works.

A little oil left over, but that comes off, with something like a paper towel.

Stickers are a BITCH to get off. Sometimes I'll be lucky enough to be able to peel the sticker off without residue, but the stickers like the ones they use at Gametop SUCK. I've tried a lot of things, such as saturating the case with Fantastik (I remove the insert, manual and game before I do so), and it barely works. One night I tried this degreaser that is supposed to be used for cars, but it was okay for plastics. I saturated the sticky stuff (or even the sticker), worked the degreaser with my finger (those with sensitive skin may not want to do that), and it just disintegrates right off the case, and leaves nothing behind. I wouldn't try it on cartridges, but it's great for getting the sticky labels off DVD-like cases.

Trust me, peanut butter works.

And no harmful chemicals, to be wary of.

I use WD-40 to get stickers off. (only because I couldn't find Goo Gone) All you have to do is peel up a corner and then spray the WD-40 in underneath and it will start working on the glue immediately. You might have to give it another spray in the middle, but you can get the whole sticker off in one piece easy as pie. You have to wash the case pretty good afterwards, but that isn't much of a problem.

Mayo, just like oily peanut butter, works well.

I find that flame-torching all of the cases takes care of that problem pretty quickly. Then keep them in individual plastic baggies.
It's satisfying, and bio-degradable. What more could you ask for?

Are you guys talking about general stickers or about the security stickers on a game?

The pre-owned Blockbuster games I have purchased have two security stickers that are really tough to get off. Will this Goo Gone stuff get it off?

YOu can just peel off the covers in some cases, i did it with about 6 games i traded in for the eb deals, but you should deffitely avoid game with relfective/holographic type backgrounds, because they are much more prone to being ruined
