Hello, I have currently have La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea, and Phantom Brave. To my understanding this is some sort of trilogy. My question is are there any other games related to the story/creators of these games coming out in the future? I remember reading some where that there is going to be another game coming out soon featuring characters from Phantom Brave. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They also aren't so much a trilogy or series.. in fact they really have nothing to do with each other. They're basically a continuance of a game style and feel.

And although I adored Disgaea, and enjoyed La Pucelle.. by the time I got to Phantom Brave, I was sick and tired of the games personally.

Actually the connection is that each game has a cameo appearance by character from one of the other games. the stories how ever can be experienced without benefit of having played the others unless you just want to get the full experience.

There's also Rhapsody which was released on the Playstation. Though it's not as fun as the PS2 games since battles are too easy even on hard mode.

Unless you find Rhapsody for around 20 bucks at a Gamestop (like I did a few years ago) you're looking to pay 90-100 on Ebay for it... not really worth it, as it is a bit easy.

Nippon Ichi Software America is looking to import Atelier Iris: Eternal mana over here. The game's made by Gust, so it's not really a Nippon Ichi creation but nonetheless it has the same charm as their games, so look forward to that too, along with Makai Kingdom.

Looking? It's being released on June 29th. It was bumped back from the 25th due to 'production' issues, but if you preorder the game through EB/Gamestop you can get a 30+ soundtrack disc...

I'm well aware of the delay.

It's too bad no one is taking a page from Nippon Ichi's book. These games have the power to totally revolutionize this genre.
Check it out.
Warning: The fourth game looks holy freaking awesome.

These are all of the game released by NIS, past and present:

Makai Kingdom
Disgaea
Generation of Chaos (PSP)
La Pucelle
Phantom Brave
Atelier Iris
Hayari Gami (adventure game, like Killer 7)
Makai Wars
Rhapsody
Rasetsu Alternative (combines the Rasetsu PC games)
Eien no Aseria (just released in Japan last month)
La Pucelle II
Tenshi no Present

They'll all probably make it here sooner or later. NIS only produces one game a year, and NIS America has released a lot already.

La Pucelle II out in Japan?

Tactics: Hikari no Seijo Densetsu Nishuu Me Hajimemashita (for some reason La Pucelle II here) is just a budget re-release of the original title in Japan. Yet:
-There is a new game plus
-When replayed you travel a "second quest" with extra bosses and such
-When completed you get a sound test and can make the cursor look different

But, since you guys are so weird I suppose I must come out and tell you that this is practically the PAL version released by Koei in Europe.

Yes, its out in Japan and odds are low that it will come here. I would have liked a new game+ in La Pucelle but its not something I would go to the trouble of importing for.

I got Rhapsody last summer after playing Disgaea and La Pucelle. I think the Gamestop price was like $26. I have the instruction manual and a disc in perfect condition but no soudtrack or the double CD case. WTF do people do with this stuff???

Anyways the game looks nice but it really is a POS as far as RPG's go. Some of the spell effects are just plain silly in a Japanese sort of way. One exaple is a giant strawberry whipped cream cake spell that appears to lay the smack down, another is a giant stack of pancakes. Yeah, it has the cutesy thing going bigtime and if you're a collector it's VERY hard to find.

Suikoden II is simple to find complete in good shape compared to Rhapsody.

I'm not getting a PS3 until Atlus and Nippon Ichi games start appearing stateside, if indeed they can afford to keep developing for the PlayStation. Maybe I underestimate their popularity in Japan and they have deeper pockets than I think they do. They just seem like a really niche player in the U.S. along the Working Designs size.
