I first heard about this news this morning when we had a discussion about it in my MIS class. Supposedly Walmart just couldn't cut it as far as customer service and turn-around time. They just weren't competitive enough to stay in the DVD rental business. But instead of giving up all together, they have now partnered with Netflix. I'm guessing all rentals now will be done under the Netflix name, and maybe distribution centers can be shared, and Walmart can get in on some of the profit without having to compete with Netflix.
