Ok since there's a price drop of Paper Mario http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/242782.asp (Though, it's on a sale on one thread..but it looks like it's a price drop too..?)
The point is.. How is Paper Mario going to drop, but yet Mario Kart Double Dash remain at $50? Ok, maybe the answer is "Well Mario Kart is still a high selling game so why not sell it for $50 when they can?" and that I agree with. However, how is Mario Party 5 going to STILL be $50? I doubt that Mario Party 5 is a high selling game since Mario Party 6 came out! There is just no way! Mario Party 4 sell sof $34.99 PRE-OWNED (at EBGames.com)..So a new one would be like $40? (They are out of stock on new). Shouldn't MP4 be $20 now??? In fact, wouldn't it make sense that MP4 be $20, MP5 be $30 and then MP6 obviously remain at $50 since it's the newest one? When Mario Party 7 comes out (lol man there's alot of Mario Parties).. it'd make sense for MP6 to be a little high (like $40) because it comes with the mic.
It's just too crazy, and it makes me mad. I really want a Mario Kart price drop !! :( Actually, I'd love a MP5 price drop too, but why pay $50 when I could just buy the newest one? (Which BTW I think is the best one so far!)
LOL---Does anyone have like.. any explanation on why prices in some cases just do NOT make any sense???

Mario Party 4 and 5 are discontinued according to EB's computer. Which means why drop the price when their are no games to drop. Plus add in the rarity factor and that's why they are still $35 or so.

Man, Paper Mario is such a sweet game. It should be issued by the Government to all citizens as a required activity .

I think that it must be attributed to RPG sales on the 'Cube. Look at the drops in the great games BK and ToS. The RPGs must not be moving any longer, and the drops may instigate some system sales from those that are RPG hungry.

I think if they drop the price, no one would buy the latest iteration of Mario Party. Since the game doesn't change that significantly from year to year, people would just go back and buy the cheaper version.

Pick it up! I paid $34 with a raincheck at target when it was released, and I would easily have paid full price. One of the best games on the cube, without question.

$30 is a little steep for me right now. I'll wait till it hits $15 or $20.

Bah, Things tbat you'll never understand. I saw the thread title and I had already queued up a few random speeches on women before I saw that what you were talking about is video games.
A better example is SSBM. Top 10 seller every month since it came out over 3 years ago. Just unbelievable. And people ask why they wont drop it from 29.99. Halo wasnt dropped until just recently, in a similar scenario

Its on SALE, not a PRICE DROP.
I paid full price for Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and will likely do the same for 7.

Mario Kart DD was SUCH a dissapointment for me--the last MK i played as the original SNES one and I loved that one to death. I rented that bad boy at least 4 times when I was younger.
The new one just sucks--I cleared everything you could clear in about a week, and it has little to no replay value at all. The sense of speed is nonexistant, and the game is in desperate need of at least 2x more tracks.
Save your money, that's my honest opinion.

Nintendo's first-party titles take a very long time for a price drop. Third-parties on the other hand drop like flies. It's all in price control. Plus S v. D.
If you really want a Big N first party title, and can not wait forever for a price drop, then snap up a copy as soon as you see a good sale price; normally within first two weeks of release. Or a promotional type deal with a specialty store.
Mario Party 4 is $19.99 at Target. <-- this game is rare?!
Mario Kart : Double Dash is okay. Tracks are on the easy side. Yes, sense of speed is a bit weak, I agree. If you want a challenge, go with F-Zero GX.
None of the Gamecube Mario Party games are rare.

Nintendo is just odd like that. They should just make all of their Mario games PC titles because they have made a lot of money on those already.
