DON'T ever sign-up with greenzap.com!!! it's a SCAM!!!
So someone advertised Greenzap. I would take a hunch that there could've been a couple of folks who jumped in the bandwagon. Guess what, you've been scammed! Here are the details...

GreenZap Scam
Is GreenZap The Greatest Scam Of The Decade?
One of the greater scams of the decade will be GreenZap.com! A so-called payment processor launched early 2005, GreenZap.com has claimed to be the Paypal-killer. My foot! After doing some research on GreenZap, I have found it to be nothing but a scam! Read this site as I track the progress on this whole GreenZap fiasco.
Fight For Your Right
April 23, 2005
Privacy is something that we should value and treasure. Giving others personal information about yourself should, by right, be a very big thing.
Who feels comfortable giving your home address, phone number, and email address to a stranger you meet on the streets?
I feel that the Internet has numbed us to this process, and is not unlike how the convenience of credit cards make it so easy to lose track of our expenditure.
And while protecting your privacy is one thing, another issue is the very real problem of spam.
Companies are giving out free iPods, free iPod Minis, free PSP, free Xbox, free laptops or free notebooks, free mini macs, free flat screens, and free cameras, amongst other free stuff. With such freebies going away without you having to pay for anything, what’s GreenZap’s PROMISE of paying you $25?
Edit: Seriously, I’m not kidding. While you do have to do a lot of work to get your free iPod, free iPod Mini, free PSP, etc, the companies most probably will deliver as promised. Do a search on google for these terms and check out the responses:
Free iPod - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+ipod"
Free PSP - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+psp"
Free mini mac - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+mini+mac"
Free camera - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+camera"
Free xbox - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+xbox"
Free iPod Shuffle - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+ipod+shuffle"
Free iPod Mini - "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=free+ipod+mini"
Remember - it’s just a number now. What’s from stopping me from creating a website just like GreenZap.com, and promising to give high pay-outs? I can just say I pay out $100, can’t I? That’s just it - it’s all TALK! Heck, GreenZap does not even have a privacy policy that tells you how they are going to use your personal information.
The potential benefits that GreenZap can get are numerous though. Firstly, there’s not much advertising that they have to do. Just do a search on Google, and check out just how many people are aggressively promoting GreenZap. So with not much effort on their part, GreenZap is getting daily additions to their database of people. And these are not RED-HOT leads of people who are:
1. Very interested in purchasing products or services online, or making online transactions. GreenZap is after-all, designed to be an online payment processor. Who else would sign up?
2. Very interested in making money, or in online business opportunities, as proved by GreenZap’s referral scheme.
I’m not a spammer, so I don’t know what else your personal information can be sold as. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
Remember, there’s nothing that GreenZap is giving out now except promises. And I’m betting heavily that it will turn out to be just empty promises! Don’t be fooled because you aren’t ‘paying’ anything. Signing up with GreenZap means that you sold your privacy away - for free.

The thing is, they can probably afford to give away $25 to everyone who signs up because this will give them a user base of people who will use the service. Like paypal, everytime someone uses their service they will take a % out. I think they are banking on making much more from this commission part than they are paying out to people to sign up. I guess we'll see for sure when they launch.
