i used sandra to find out that my current motherboard is a microstar ms-6533. i have a 4x agp slot version 2.0. i want to get a nvidia 6600gt. at newegg the cards say that they are 8x agp and they need version 2.0. will these cards work on my motherboard? will these 8x cards slow down to 4x because i have agp 2.0?

really, so the agp speed isn't as important as the agp version?

the best thing to do is go to the nvidia site and read their specs/faq to see what is supported

It should work. And yes the 8X AGP card will be downgraded to 4X mode. Slower but I doubt you can tell the difference.
